That feeling when you’ve not seen this for a while, and it’s still every bit as good you remember it! I love this movie from the beginning to the last scene - epic!
Its one of those ones that no matter how many times ya've seen it on tv, if you flick over and its on, ya cant help but watch it, wether its just started or is nearly ending...
“It had previously occurred to me, that the gipsy had taken the death of his mother rather lightly…” That entire narration during the after math was legendary.

What's cool is that Mickey acknowledges Turkish's "they're hang us with the ring-ropes if they think it's rigged," but instead of "getting out there and hurting him," he goes out there and lets HIMSELF get hurt, to avert suspicion. Same result - the audience won't believe a fighter would allow himself to get so badly beaten if it were a rigged fight. I think it's his way of privately atoning for his mum's death. Meanwhile, his people were getting into position.
Yes because one of the first things we hear her say is "You know what happens when you fight" ['people die' was implied] His character would blame her death on himself to some degree
I think it was more he’d bet on himself, and if it was seen to be fixed they probably wouldn’t have paid out. This way he took their money AND paid them for killing his mum.
I always thought it was sweet how Turkish and tommy both immediately ran onto the stage to get in a fight with them after their fighter went past the bell, and then Turkish checked on him after the fact to make sure he was okay. They didn’t have to since it’s rigged and he was supposed to go down in the next round anyways but they got up there without a second thought anyways.
I once red that the gorgeous Brad Pitt saw 'Lock Stock..' and asked Guy Ritchie for a part in his next movie - out came the Gypsies and Pitt as their leader. What followed was not only Pitts best movie but one of THE best revenge scenes in cinema history: 'A Pikey reation..' I LOVE it!!!!!
I can’t remember where I’ve seen it but I understand that the man in the crowd actually pushed Brad Pitt and Pitt was legitimately pissed off and went after the guy. Supposedly it was the real deal and the cast wanted to scrap. It looked so good that the opted to keep it in the movie.
“For every action there’s a reaction and pikey reaction is quiet a fucking thing” indeed it is! This entire scene from the fight to the ambush is fucking epic! And not to mention Guy Richie has the best cinematography hands down💯💯💯
There’s many reasons why this is a perfect scene, but many don’t understand the relevance of the song itself. It’s entire reason for being is to rebel against the bastards wanting to take down our freedom. Micky didn’t want to fight out of respect of his mother, but the people who fixed the fight killed her, so now he does it so he can fulfill his revenge against them. This is his fuck you against them, while his mates finish flipping them the bird.
Maybe it's because I'm an idiot, but I don't think so, since I often see the twists in a movie long before they happen. But this ending really caught me by surprise. Better than the Sting.
Just give me a big break. I'm not gonna trash everything new and I will not be forced into this crap by those lifeless, grown-a** nostalgically-blind hypocrites!
I fucking love how this movie so fast paced and packed with detail, this part was amazing and glued me to the couch, I love this kind of “the weird part of the movie is what’s all about” movies
Brad Pitt is considered to be a great actor, and rightly so. However there are a few genres where he's not considered one of the greatest. He's not one of the greatest when it comes do drama, for instance. He's not one of the greatest when it comes to comedy. He's good, but not great. However, when it comes to fight scenes, he really is a master. His expressions, the way he breathes, the way he moves in relation to the camera... absolutely spot on.
Never understood that last line by Statham I think they're in a much better position with nobody left to come after them, they're free to go take a piss! Cheers mate 🍺
What got me with this movie is, being a traveler myself and experienced discrimination/racism all my childhood and into adulthood. The use of the word pikey.. now my non traveler friends call me that word some times when we take the piss out of each other and that's fine . But because of the movie all of a sudden people I would hardly know would start saying it to me. And remember at this time shop keepers still had hand written signs in the window saying no pikeys aloud!! And we'd get treated like shit everywhere else. So hearing it made my blood boil. I explained it to my non traveler friend like this. You don't watch boys in the hood then run around calling every black guy you see a fucking ni**er!!! .. because that's how the word pikey is used against my breed of people. In discrimination in hatred and to keep us down.
Theres a reason for the discrimination ye knacker. Maybe put the copper piping down and people will treat your "race" better. Sincerely, everyone who does not live off the state
Me arl fella always pointed out how tommy was the smallest lad in the rolm but was first to front it when micky got pushed haha fight in the dog and all that. Always stuck with me since i was a boy
I think the character Centurion from the game Escape From Butcher Bay is at least partially based on Mickey. Centurion oversees the prison fights, has a body similar to Mickeys, and also has tattoos. The main visual difference is that Centurion wears a bowler derby, instead of a trilby like Mickey. Considering the game came out in 2004, I would be surpirsed if Centurion _wasn't_ at least somewhat inspired by Snatch

HELL YES!!!!
This movie is indeed evergreen, timeless.
haven't watched this in 4 years, it feels as amazing as the first time
Guy Ritchie's directing style is pure cinema. That slow motion and the cut to Brad Pitt landing in the water is straight-up AWESOME
Yeah your right when they made this movie that was such a ground breaking style to use. And it just looks so amazing
Yes, but that’s scene writing and editing, not directing style
@@karemortensen7548I believe that Ritchie had a large part in that. This movie is his vision.

"For every action, there’s a reaction. And a pikey reaction… *IS QUITE A FUCKING THING."*
I genuinely remember thinking the same the first time I saw this movie.
It mustn't have registered on an emotional level.
This movie was so great, I remember watching it again the other day after watching Layer Cake. Brad Pitt did such a great job in this role.
Best British movie ever made with the most memorable quotes and one liners.
Would have to agree with you there mate, none of Guy Ritchies other stuff even came close, apart from Lock Stock of course...
I dont know, Shaun of the Dead is a strong contender for best British film as well

Lock stock was way better, a lot more authentic. In real life the travellers would've gone to the police, many of them are police informants.
@@dubiouscaesar3709 I like the cinematography of Lock Stock more, but I think Snatch is the overall better movie
