Nope, the baby gorilla in the video did not die. He is now 3 years old and there are many current videos of him on youtube. HIs name is Ajabu. Also, Shinda has had no other offspring beside Ajabu.
i seen a mom gorilla in a zoo that had a baby with a light color face, and more chimp than gorilla. wish i could see that again. i wondered if it was a cross bred.
