What? Showing how much she loved her? Nope...she is not a human..she hugged her because that is what primate mothers do with newborns, hold them close to their chests to facilitate breastfeeding!!
Yes, most primate mothers including humans instinctively hold the newborn to the chest. And most primate parents including humans love their children.

I loved this video. Especially the little gorilla towards the end where it was twirling around in absolute delight and then fell over. Too cute for words.
That's so neat how the mothers interact after she has the baby. The other mother comes over to see the new baby. They're so intelligent
Purple Cabbage They’re more intelligent than humans... that’s for sure. Humans have destroyed animals habitat & then rebuild it again. Animals don’t destroy their own habitats. Watching this gorilla give birth was a truly amazing experience. They have many mannerisms than humans.

its called natural maternal instinct. something a lot of human mothers are lacking in
@@cathyt144 It's actually not pure instinct. They have to learn a lot about childrearing from watching older mothers as they grow up. Female gorillas raised outside of gorilla society often lack the skills required to be effective mothers.
@@griffithchung9377 though that is true it is due to instinct and hormones that a primate immediately brings a newborn to their chest to facilitate breastfeeding.
I love these creatures so much. I look at them and tears well up when I think about how horribly they’ve been treated. I hope they continue to thrive. ❤️

I know love is a natural instinct in us, the same way animals love toward us. However, I agree that some people needs to be thought how to love, and yes maybe there are other types of love ? Like loving a gorilla the same way we love dogs and cats.
I just love watching these beautiful creatures and the way the mother is so caring and tender with her new baby. I only wish more people would be kind to them.

Well of course she delivers her own child!! There is nothing unusual or amazing about that! Did you think they had an abundance midwife gorillas in the wild to do it for them?? Believe it or not they have been doing exactly what you see in this video (though gently without the white human present) throughout the history of their existence!

I just love primates ! I wonder how nature works for these babies in regards to clearing their lungs of fluid right after birth ? We humans have Nurses / Docters to clear the passages with suction devices.

The gorillas are winning?? How can they win kept in captivity? Most zoos look nothing like this. It's the saddest thing to see them just sitting there in a small enclosure watching humans gawk at them all day. What a horrible existence for these highly intelligent animals.

God I'm so sick of hearing this, "freedom of wild," bullshit. Freedom doesn't exist in the wild. The only difference in freedom between a wild habitat & the equivalent artificial habitat is that you could maybe get lost in the wild one, cause there's too much of it to walk around in. But unlike an artificial habitat, in the wild, you must face: predation, disease, parasites, starvation, dehydration, territory conflict, conflict between different troops, etc. The wild is *dangerous*. It is not a utopia for animals, it is a killing field where your life is always potentially in peril. Why the hell did you think that humans created our own environment just for us, away from the wild? Because the wild fucking SUCKS. Because ultimately, nobody belongs in the wild, it is preferable to be in an artificial one, created by those who know what the prerequisites are for living comfortably.
Just as humans don't belong in the wild, nor does any other animal. Animals do not belong in the wild.
