- -53C/-63F EXTREMELY COLD TOUR AROUND YAKUTSK - The Coldest town in the world
This video was probably one of the most difficult among all of my videos because my hands started to freeze while I was shooting it, and camera worked very badly.. but I wanted to show how my city looked like during the coldest days.
Short but cold tour around Yakutsk - the coldest town in the world

Hello from Azerbaijan

Aleykum Hello brat
@@nickless3923 Aleykum hello 😂
Hi from Azerbaijan 🇦🇿
Aleyküm
🤢
Here in central Chile when in winter the temperature hits like 3°C or 5°C we say: 'Tomorrow its gonna be really cold!' I can't even imagine -53°C
People who live in tropical climates cannot imagine what it’s like. When it’s super cold, you will feel pain on your skin like needles pushing into your skin. That’s why it’s important to cover most of your face and never take off your gloves
Needles in skin is okey (more scary when you not feel needles, it means your body got frozen). More complicated to breath, especially when it is windy and you just can’t to breath from pain. Or when windy with snow, thousands of tiny ice peaces which attack your eyes so you walk with almost closed eyes.
Wow. I would love to go there, but I know I wouldn't be able to handle it.
not sure kyle , it is like hznoi but a bit colder...a bit...
You need to be careful to never take off your gloves. So metal glasses too since it will rip your skin. Buy clothes that is designed for extreme temperatures
Do it! Push your limits
Just go in summer when its 30°C
Love you to from Turkey♡

Loves from Turkey. 🖤
Hi Maria .... I used to work for the USPS, and where I was stationed -- it plummets down to negative -10 degrees F, during the winters. After watching this video, I absolutely salute your city's outdoor civil and utility-service workers.

I'm just amazed at how normal city life is in such cold. Where I live, cars stopped working and water pipes froze when we got below 0°F, and we are used to winter being below freezing
Its just matter of habbit or rather adjusting to it.
Thanks to the abundant and cheap Russian gaz.
Its absolute nightmare when Las vegas receives 2 inch of snow and nothing special for Chicago. So there is the same. The matter of habbit
Hello from Turkey ☺☺👋👋🤗🇹🇷🇹🇷❤

Thank you for sharing!
-63F. I cant imagine how dangerous that is. The lowest ive ever been in was -44F and I cant remember how long ago it was. I already freeze to death here when it gets below +60F here in California.
Hello, greetings from Turkey.
Thanks for the tour!❤️
Amazing! Thank you for the video!
With love and respect to everyone from Azerbaijan 🎁🌹🇦🇿 It was a great video, and I wish my neighbor 🌹 success
Thank you so much Maria! This is a lot of hard work involved to make this video! It's very hard to hold the camera and make videos outside at this cold because hands got freezing cold in under 5 minutes even with gloves. Thank you for making such quality videos and sharing your beautiful town with us!
Love your video thanks for showing .
Wow!It evens look like it's freezing!Can't even imagine such a temperature!Great upload!👍💖
Omg
I lived in Canada for some time, with 30 to 40 negative Celsius with the wind factor.. and it wasn't too nice, specially for someone who moved from Italy.
Let me tell u, you are a true warrior to survive this weather
Much respect
Love ur videos
Good job Maria

I'm from Finland, one of the best ranked education systems in the world. And was always above average in school, yet I've never heard of this city.
Can you name every city in the world? While you're at it, tell us which climates the cities are located.
Oh, and don't forget to tell us about the ethnic groups living in the cities :)
See? Unless you can do these things your comment was truly ridiculous 🙄
@@ilarious5729 russia is going to annex you and usa won't do anything about it.

Nice video. Yakutsk is such an amazing place.
Greetings from Colorado, I started watching your videos about 5 or 6 days ago and REALLY enjoyed them, you are so GENUINE. I love to follow on Google Earth and locate things that I see in videos, it makes it much more "real" for me. In this video I found everything except the intersection that had the "ice bull" and the "very round" statue. Walking around in minus 63 F is hard for me to imagine, thanks for sharing that with us. My Best Wishes and thanks to your family for sharing part of their lives in these beautiful videos.
Haha, I live there 😅
Nice video btw! Thanks for sharing your experience with people from all over the world, so everyone could learn more about this wonderful place 🏙❄️🌫
Very nice and informative, greetings from Murmansk. Totally enjoyed it!
I like your voice so much ! Thank you for the videos.
Congratulations on rocketing up to 50K subscribers in the last couple of months.
Thank you 🤍
Tons of warm hugs from Turkey! (I think you'll need it :3) I start to shake even it is -5 or -10degrees This is just mind blowing that you just go out like it is normal!!! Buildings and just the snow itself is awsomee!! Hope someday I can come and visit here.. Love you and your videoos♡
Hello from Florida. Sending you warmth. Thanks for sharing your home.
Really informative. As a person living closer to equator, I learn a lot through your videos.
Thoroughly enjoyed this, I come from a country where the sight of one snowflake and when the temperature drops to zero everything comes to a grinding halt. Schools close, train services are canceled. Greetings from England.
Hello from Minnesota (USA)! I recently found your channel and have enjoyed learning more about Yakutia. Thank you for sharing with us!
Minnesota... sounds like another cold place. Oh right, because of this: ua-cam.com/video/J5gsnLCtShg/v-deo.html
@@ginglyst Ha! That about sums up life in MN during the winter. But really, it’s generally not super cold here. We’ll usually have a week or two where it’s around -20 to -30F (-29 to -35C), but that’s nothing compared to Yakutia!
Your English is great. Thanks for the tour!
Hello from Canada great video!
Thanks for the subtitles 🇹🇷
I have to admit I had no idea where Yakutsk is. So I looked it up and researched it. I think it would be a great trip by rail from Moscow to your city stopping at a few of the provincial towns along the way. Very best regards from Seattle, Washington.
Love your videos 💖
Remarkable. Thank you for the tour. I like the idea of the bull bringing the cold.
That was sooo cool!! I spent a fall semester in St. Petersburg 15 years ago. I would much rather have visited Yakutsk! I'd love to some day visit in the winter! Thank you so much for sharing !!
St. Pete is the most beautiful city in Russia 👌🏻 lucky you.
Though it depends where you come from, it's also the most "Europe like" city, so if you want something more exotic other cities might be your thing. Still lots to see and to do in St. Pete. I wish I could go back already.
This is fascinating!!
I would never have imagined that there could be a fully functioning society in such a cold place.
I would hibernate until everything thawed out!🥶🥶
Thank you so much for sharing your life and town with us.
Maria love your videos. Love from D.C. 🇺🇸
Thank you Maria for being a tour guide and showing us your town and city. Salute your resilience in surviving in such cold weather 🙏
I remember years ago Sephora was selling mascara to make eyelashes look like yours in the video, how lucky that you get that look for free! :D
haha I guess Sephora's white mascara wouldn't be so popular here.. 😛
I remember something like that but those were fibers (of white color) for under your mascara to make the end result thicker. It was not meant to be the final layer. You were supposed to use your regular mascara on top of it...
@@65denikat that’s primer. This was a special around Christmas time and I recall that it was a Black Friday special. I’ll try to find the name of it! It was supposed to look like you had snow covering your eyelashes. It wasn’t intended as a primer.
Hi from Turkey🇹🇷
Cold weather outside keeps the warmth inside your heart! ThumbsUp!!
Another nice video.Looking at your 3 layers you are use to the weather.Cant wait to visit Yakutsk next available winter..
Hello from Azerbaijan.
This is insane.... I cannot even imagine it.
Great tour , cold city , warm welcoming smile , thank you .
Your videos are so informative and beautiful i love your videos ❤️
Эта зима действительно была нечто хD Из дома вообще вылезать не хотелось. Давно такого холода не было, даже дышать было адски холодно
It’s quite fascinating how people can live and function in such a cold place and make life go around even on such cold days. I personally wouldn’t be able to handle such cold, the coldest weather I’ve experienced is about -25C here in my hometown in Sweden. The climate in my town can be a mix of inland and coastal though as I’m about an hour inland from the coast, so my town can get cold but in a humid way so it can feel a lot colder than it actually is at times. Just cold without the added humidity or wind is easier to manage... But I still hate anything colder than +25C lol
Also, Texas should take note... If Russia can have a functioning society in such extreme conditions, surely Texas should be able to at least be somewhat prepared for a bit of winter weather... Not making fun of them because it is tragic how people suffered over there, but still, the state should take note and demand the companies to have better preparations for cold weather... This February storm and polar vortex that they got hit with wasn’t their first, nor will it be their last...
Yep.. l understand Sweden is also cold.. greetings from Kenya
But Russia expects to deal with that weather. Not a super fair comparison
Should take note not to buy anymore too expensive Liu nieece Them power. By the way how are your socialist cousins doing with the Poutine gas. Lots of freezing in yourape. But the media won't be covering that.
I am so amazed with your town..Thank you for introducing us your lovely place..😍 Keep posting videos please☺️
Thank you for sharing your city on such a cold day. It looks very beautiful. I have been following the weather in Yakutia and remember seeing days in the-60s F. Temperatures are getting warmer. I think you will have a high temperature of 0F soon. Happy spring!
I’m sure that she is adapted to the area so Guys this clothing may for a turist not enough 😅

A fascinating place. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Kia ora from New Zealand 😊
Hello! So very interesting 🤍 Thank You for sharing 🥰
Thank you for braving the extreme cold while shooting outside.
I can understand your hands freezing, because I had the same situation when I was trying to take pictures in Mongolia at -25C 😆
В Монголии ветер добавляет мороза.
I would love to see what its like inside a shopping mall in Yakutsk!
Do you think you'd see anything special there? :) The same staff as everywhere, yet much more expensive.
Thank you Maria for showing us your beautiful place Yakutia
Lovely video as always
Best regards

I’m wondering what are the differences between people who lived in the old town long ago and modern people? How did people manage to live long ago in the extreme cold? Very interesting videos - thank you for posting 😊
Yes! I second this. Loving all your videos, Maria, and hope you will consider making one about historical Yakutians vs. modern ones.
I'm wondering too how people survived in the old days without the technology and materials available today.
