Awesome video again. Me and my wife were watching a video from you guys about Montenegro and decided to go there this summer. We love your videos and it’s always interesting Please tell me how Matt was able to learn Russian so good. My wife is born in Canada and I’m originally from Hungary. I had to learn Russian in school and still understand a little bit. But knowing how hard to learn Hungarian for my wife I’m amazed Matt’s Russian. So happy to watch a new video from you guys and Julia laughs makes me smile always. Wishing both of you the very best ❤ 🇷🇺 ❤

It was good to see and hear your voices. It makes me appreciate that all people are truly one as a world. It is fascinating to see how people live in different cultures and thrive. Thank you!
Thank you! I enjoyed this so much. I’ve read a lot about Siberia and always been fascinated with remote places. I am 50 years old and hope to finally one day travel on the Transiberian Railway. I watched the video of you guys traveling by train. Also, my son’s father is Russian and lived 200 km east of Abakan on a river. I never unfortunately had the opportunity to travel to Siberia. My son also never has. But hopefully one day, somehow. My son and I live in Latvia. Have you ever been? There are plenty of Russians here so language won’t be a problem. Anyway, I liked the way you highlighted the friendliness of the people. I was so pleased to see that. A human connection is most important. Also the connection with nature. So thx again! I look foreward to the next remote spot!! Live, love and laugh🌏🤗🌻
My goodness, this trip is extreme. Quite frankly I was so worried about you guys being out there so long since I saw a video once where they said when it was that cold people should not be out there longer than 15 to 20 minutes for the fear of frostbite setting in. Glad to see you were okay though. Truly you two are the quintessential adventurers.
Here where I live, we are experiencing one of the mildest winters in a long time and in contrast Yakutsk could be on another world. The people there have adapted so well to the adverse conditions it is impressive. What an experience! Matt and Julia, all the best!
Thanks for another interesting chapter in your Yakutsk adventure! I, along with others, was impressed with the friendliness of the market people. They do what they have to do and take it all in stride as their way of life. I hope the new boots work out for you both to stave off frostbite. Until next time, rest well and stay safe!
You guys are incredible to brave those extreme temperatures. To show us what it's like is something we don't see very often. You guys are awesome to take us along and meet the locals. Love the sound of the crunch as you are walking!! Thank you for sharing your videos, gives a perspective of places most would rarely have the opportunity to see in person.
It's 50 degrees (10 Celsius) and raining here in L.A. I'm wearing 2 layers of clothing and have a heater going on my desk. I would never survive in really cold weather. lol!
My fear and hatred for any climatic condition colder than 0 degrees C means I'd never willingly go to such a brutally cold place, but, what an incredible adventure you two had! And this town is so picturesque in a wintry way; extraordinary!
8:10 this woman is right. Life goes on! When I visited Thailand for the first time I was so amazed that the country is so developed, people are hardworking and do not stop working even in unbearable heat. For me, these were extreme conditions, since I arrived there from Yakutia😊
I live in the Maritime provinces of Canada... My current temperature is -12 Celsius and it feels like -20... Tonight it will go down to -23 and feel like -28.... That's pretty cold, but watching your video makes me feel much warmer. Tks!🥶
Thanks, again, for a wonderful look at YAKUTSK, Matt & Julia! Bring one of those huge frozen fish back to your hotel and cook it for your fans to watch. How do they taste?
It be awesome if you guys can do a video on the type of clothes and the materials it’s made of that keeps you warm before your outing in those extreme weather. Curious of the brand and where I can find them. Love your vids, keep up the good work.
it's very beautiful there in summer. but there are a lot of mosquitoes. the most beautiful thing is when you go towards magadan. on the highway - kolyma. there are mountains there. many passes.

Growing up and then working in northern Alberta, that squeaking sound of your boots when walking brings back memories!!! So damn cold but thanks for the video!!!

I would have saved it for tomorrow but the reference to Yakutsk caught me. I have a board game called "Risk" and Yakutsk is one of the territories found in the game. Hooked. Gave my cold shivers watching even this video, though the ambient temperature here is at 30 degrees C 🥶 Amazing to see that frozen outdoor market. True, the locals seem very friendly and engaging indeed! Just missed you hugging/shaking a snowy tree Julia? 😁 Cannot wait to see you two taking that icy swim in the next video! 😉👏🏻👏🏻 Lots of love! ❤❤
Greetings from Chris in Ann Arbor, Michigan where the temp is a chilly 28 degrees F, which I will take over where you are at right now. One question, Now the fish are good (frozen solid) but what do they do in the summer????😲😳 It is an eye opener (sorry, Julia, no pun intended) to see that part of the world. We only imagined Siberia, never expected to see a thriving city like Yakutsk. You guys take us so many interesting and exotic places, while we sit in the warmth and comfort of our easy chairs. I love your videos! You are helping to show me the world! And btw, this is the first time for me to see ice on eye lashes. It looks cute but I'll bet it is miserable!
Oh my days, your absolutely amazing living in a country as cold as this. You just get on with it. We get a little bit of snow here in Scotland, and the country comes yo a standstill lol xx
I wouldn’t survive those sort of temps. We had very cold spell back in December which it went down to -13°C in the U.K. some areas was slightly colder but what made it worse was that we had snow which was a surprise because it wasn’t forecast and pretty much turned it into ice during the cold.
You guys rock! I am a long time viewer, and have enjoyed all of your videos. You really do add a little sunshine to my day (thursday). Thank you for that. The most important question I have about Yakutsk, does the sun ever shine there? I noticed what looked like frozen trees or bushes. Is it possible for anything to grow outside? Keep doing what you do. Where's Julia's cooking show?
Hi. You can watch Yakutia on UA-cam in the summer, we have white nights starting from the end of May, this is when the sun goes below the horizon for 1-2 hours and rises back. In summer, the air temperature rises to 35 Celsius (sometimes up to 40). Now on February 25, all the fog has receded, in the middle of the day outside -20C and the sun, there are no clouds in the sky. Spring is coming.
Thank you so much Robin! Really appreciate your support 🥰 So glad we can be even a small part of your day ❤️ Yes it does, in the summer the temperatures get up to +35’c 😮 And things do grow, but not much, mainly some berries and a few isolated summer fruits 🥰 My course is coming! Will send an update out soon, almooosssttt done 🥰❤️🙏🏼
Oh my! I can’t even imagine! I’m shivering watching 😂 it really is amazing though! I thought it was pretty awesome to see the fish displayed that way! The fog is really incredible! The people are so friendly Very very interesting ! Thanks for sharing M
Been to Antarctica twice for work (2001 and 2003) it was -26C and that was cold enough, could not stand it to long outside. How these people here live and work in those conditions is beyond me. Your much braver than me.
Ok, I also love the cold weather, but let me say this to you guys, in fun of course, "y'all are nuts",....I've seen this show some time ago, but just briefly. The folks who work outside, I tip my hat off to them. Ye gods, I know I couldn't hack it. Kudos to you guys. I enjoy watching your videos. Please stay safe. ❤❤😊😊
Matt & Julia, I hate texting but had to say how brilliant and how lucky you both are to experience such a place, unimaginable 😮,.. Julia, my wife asked, are you going to do a cooking blog…? Keep up your fantastic work and I’ll always keep watching, love to both of you 👍🙏
I’m freezing just watching this. I can’t stand the cold so this terrifies me. You guys are brave and the Yakutsk people are so incredible and strong for not only living in these environments but also thriving
Wow! That place in insane! I’ve never heard of anyplace being that cold. Good advice from Matt to not pull on your frozen eyelashes! 😂 however, they did give a little extra sparkle to your eyes! 😂😂😂 Thanks for taking me along! Aloha ❤
Lovely hometown. You need to visit it in March and you will be surprised snow melting from roofs with minus 35 Celcius outside. Or in summer, when it comes to +35 and even more, especially in the city centre because of buildings and roads producing the heat. And yes, for all visitors living conditions are incredible, however for locals it is daily routine)))) miss my home and thanks for lovely pictures
Hi guys, So, you are still living life in the Freezer, ho hum, better you than me. As I'm getting older I find I notice the cold much more, and need some heat to my bones. This April my wife and I are off to Paphos in Cyprus to enjoy the sights. When you two get back to civilization, you both should get yourselfs to a nice place in the sun, and enjoy a great beach and swimming in warm waters.!! Get some sun on your deprived bodies. Best Wishes Dave.
7:24 That's -67f to us here in the US. OMG! I'm in New Hampshire where it occasionally can get to -20f (-29c), but that is fairly rare, and it doesn't last.
-30 C is quite common to us here in the West Siberia. It is just how it goes from December to February. There are short spikes of frost when it is some 10-15 C colder as well. But I must admit that it is getting warmer in our part of the World novadays. And i like it )))
I would imagine that having human connection and interaction is important in this community when it's so cold. People definitely seem friendly and interested in meeting tourists. I admire how well they adapted to this harsh, cold weather. Then their summers are totally the opposite of winter. Thanks for sharing!
Great video, but we felt sorry for the fish, they looked absolutely frozen 🤔 after watching, had to go and sit by the fireside for half an hour to warm up ha ha 👍
I really enjoyed your winter coverage. I'm living in Asian but i fallen love with winter at 🇷🇴. Your videos drives me to make plan for myself, hope 1 day i manage to experience what you guys are doing now 😘. Pls keep yr camera warm & rolling. Stay safe guys 💖
The key to warm feet is a roomy, insulated boot, and good socks. A thin silk sock, with a good wool sock over it, is one way to go. A tight boot will freeze your feet, no matter how well it is insulated. A roomy boot has an envelope of air circulating around your feet, and that makes all the difference. Be sure the boot also has a thick, insulated insole, and a roomy toe box. Rubber boots are not recommended. They don't breathe, and they make your feet sweat, and then the sweat freezes.
Refrigerators in Yakutsk are needed to keep ice cream warm. 😅😅
So true! 😁❤️
OMG it's like "Go to our fridge, it's nice and warm +4C here"
to keep eggs and milk
Don't give up the day job
I lived in Colorado, USA for many years and worked as a television videographer. Here's my hint for your camera, wrap it with something that will also hold a hand warmer. I could work all day at -20F, when my competitors were at home sipping cocoa (but not getting paid).

I cannot work outside in -20F even that's too cold for me lol.

At temperatures below -40C, all infectious animals die. Therefore, if you live in a cold climate, you will not suffer from anything

Amazing people! Thanks for sharing, take care enjoying life 😊🥰❤🙏
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it 🥰❤️
These amazing people lead a very healthy and clean life.
❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much! So happy to hear you enjoyed the video 🤗❤️
Excellent video under extra ordinary conditions. Wish you both the best.💗
Thank you so much! 🥰❤️
Gosh I felt cold 🥶 just watching your vlog! Very interesting facts thank you 🙏 so much for braving the weather to show us another part of our world xx
Its the most interesting video i have seen for a very Long time. Thank you for sharing😊
Thank you for the good video Hello from the USA
Thank you so much Billy! ❤️🙏🏼
I love your videos! You are helping to show me the world! And btw, this is the first time for me to see ice on eye lashes. It looks cute but I'll bet it is miserable!
It was a unique feeling that’s for sure 😅🥶
So glad you enjoyed it 🥰 Lots of love ❤️
Oh my days, your absolutely amazing living in a country as cold as this. You just get on with it.
We get a little bit of snow here in Scotland, and the country comes yo a standstill lol xx
I live in Southern California, and it is crazy cold (for us) at 35 degrees Fahrenheit. I have no idea how you or those folks survive, but you do!
I think humans are so adaptable, whatever the climate (within reason of course), we can adapt 🥰❤️
@@MattandJulia Oh my goodness, hello! I am so surprised by your response! Please stay warm and happy ... we love you both very much.
I love the cold. But -50º oh my days that's a bit chilly
What amazing people
Matt and Julia...as always...a facinating video 💟
Thank you so much Ester!! ❤️🥰
I wouldn’t survive those sort of temps. We had very cold spell back in December which it went down to -13°C in the U.K. some areas was slightly colder but what made it worse was that we had snow which was a surprise because it wasn’t forecast and pretty much turned it into ice during the cold.
To be fair the cold in the UK is a ‘wet cold’ which always feed worse 🥶❤️
@@MattandJulia yea
Really appreciate your support 🥰 So glad we can be even a small part of your day ❤️
Yes it does, in the summer the temperatures get up to +35’c 😮 And things do grow, but not much, mainly some berries and a few isolated summer fruits 🥰
My course is coming! Will send an update out soon, almooosssttt done 🥰❤️🙏🏼
Oh my! I can’t even imagine! I’m shivering watching 😂 it really is amazing though! I thought it was pretty awesome to see the fish displayed that way! The fog is really incredible! The people are so friendly
Very very interesting ! Thanks for sharing M
Interesting outdoor food market. ❤
❤️❤️❤️🥰
All that wonderful snow....
Thank you for the excellent video. I learned a lot and gained a bunch of respect for these people living in it.
Our pleasure! so glad you enjoyed it 🥰❤️
Thanks 🙏🏽 for doing this! Loved 🥰 it.
So glad you enjoyed it Jason 🥰❤️
@@MattandJulia ice, ice baby
Thanks for taking me along!
Aloha ❤
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it 🥶🥰🙏🏼❤️
Lovely hometown.
Thank you for this video!
So glad you enjoyed it Kat 🥰🙏🏼
I live in South Texas and when it go down to 5c we stay inside and stop work but when it 40c we don't mind we love it
Классный ролик, спасибо! Очень милые люди)
...and Julia has adopted a pretty British accent, meanwhile 🙂
Спасибо большое Макс 🥰❤️
Hi guys, So, you are still living life in the Freezer, ho hum, better you than me. As I'm getting older I find I notice the cold much more, and need some heat to my bones. This April my wife and I are off to Paphos in Cyprus to enjoy the sights. When you two get back to civilization, you both should get yourselfs to a nice place in the sun, and enjoy a great beach and swimming in warm waters.!! Get some sun on your deprived bodies. Best Wishes Dave.
Amazing video! Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed it! 🥰❤️
Can't wait for more! I'm moaning with my 18 degree F weather or -7 C.
Can’t wait to share more Lorraine 🙏🏼🥰❤️
7:24 That's -67f to us here in the US. OMG! I'm in New Hampshire where it occasionally can get to -20f (-29c), but that is fairly rare, and it doesn't last.
-30 C is quite common to us here in the West Siberia. It is just how it goes from December to February. There are short spikes of frost when it is some 10-15 C colder as well. But I must admit that it is getting warmer in our part of the World novadays. And i like it )))
It is like nowhere else in the northern hemisphere 😮🥶❤️
@@zed007 hello from yakutia we have december -59
I would imagine that having human connection and interaction is important in this community when it's so cold. People definitely seem friendly and interested in meeting tourists. I admire how well they adapted to this harsh, cold weather. Then their summers are totally the opposite of winter. Thanks for sharing!
Love ur videos ❤❤❤❤❤
Fantastic video. I'm really enjoying this series! Thank you!
Thank you so much 🥰❤️
Yay there you are. Hope you are well. Jo. Xx
Thank you so much Jo! We are, hope you are well too ❤️❤️❤️

Спасибо большое Леонардо! ❤️🙏🏼
Great video, but we felt sorry for the fish, they looked absolutely frozen 🤔 after watching, had to go and sit by the fireside for half an hour to warm up ha ha 👍

Love you two! Take care ❤
Thank you so much! 🥰❤️

Wow on the caption of this episode for cold weather 🌡️
What an experience!!! I'm assuming the boots were better and you are still using them? 😃
They were a lot warmer, but veeeerrryy slippery 😀❤️

hello from yakutia we have december -59
It’s so different to what I know about the world! Thank you for showing us normal life in these interesting off the beaten track places :)
Ok. I need a hot bowl of soup.
Very interesting.
Cheers from USA where its been 96F everyday. (August in Southeast)
finally you uploaded video🤩🤩
We are back! 🙌🏼 Just needed a little tiny break 😀
