@Gray Hair And Tattoos I saw another post of a person saying to soak the entire boot in water (drain the water and wear them) and a cobbler said putting them in water prematurely cracks the leather, I wonder what difference it is when doing that and breaking in a boot with no hack. 🤔 Food For thought
I bought a pair of knock offs called sincerely jules they would fit great but it’s always that lip you have to get your heel bone over that is too small for me. I’m in a wheelchair and also dislocated my ankle on one side years ago so have tons of issues with it now but I stuck a round water bottle in it and heated it up and just going to let it sit until tomorrow to see if that works!
If they are leather (not vegan or patent leather) I say start with thick sock and see how comfortable they are. If they hurt then you can try using a hair dry to warm the leather then wear them or if nothing else works, try freezing them to stretch out the leather.
Mink oil is SUPREME. Heat up the boot a bit with a hair dryer and rub mink oil ALL over it, even the inside (not the sole). Warning, it will darken the leather though, but if you're like me and only wear black, it's not an issue, lol. Think of leather like skin, it needs moisturizer and freezing it won't help much.
Get leather conditioner and condition the inside of the boot. It'll be better for the boot in the long run, especially if you want them resoled when they start to get too much drag. Same applies to solovair and gripfast btw
Not a stupid question at all! I put enough water in the bag to fill the shoe, then leave enough room for it to expand when frozen. I did a long form video on how to do this also if you want to check that out. ❤
@@grayhairandtattoos Thanks so much I have to get a pair! Have you tried them with jean shorts? I think they may be super cute that way for fall! Thanks for posting!!!
Super helpful! Also the way you just threw it lol 😂
Ha Ha - my dramatic side came out!
I honestly didn’t even have to do any of that with my Dr. Martin’s. They fit like a glove right from the beginning. I love my Dr. Martins.
I have a question Were ur dr martens the 1460 pascal Virginia?
great hack but it’s all fun and games till the bag breaks 😃 i’ll take my chances tho cause my boots need breaking in
I've had a bag leak so that's why I use two bags now. They are leather and the water doesn't damage the boot if it does break
Freezing actually dehydrates the leather and makes it more prone to cracking and I doubt it does any stretching in 3 days.
It works for me 🙂
Maybe you are doing it to vegan boots
Thank you for the wonderful tip, I just bought some Doc Martins the other day 😊
Oh cool - I love mine! Enjoy your new docs!
I want to do these but most of my doc's are rare, so if something happens I'm screwed 🙃 😅
I don't blame you!!

hi, do u know what kind of leather the 1460’s are? i’m not sure which method to use for those

Got it - thanks!
That is so smart
It works every time :)
Stupid question but how much do you fill it? Like all the way to the top of the boot or?

@@grayhairandtattoos nice one i’ll give it a watch! Cheers 😊
So many things wrong with this. Do not put your Docs in the freezer.
Super cute boots! What size did you get? Do they run true to size? Thanks!
The run large. I usually wear a size 7 and I wear a size 6 in Dr. Martens.

@@andyjones9266 I haven't done that myself but I've seen them worn like that - super cute! Pull your socks up so they show. That's a great look!
@@grayhairandtattoos I was thinking of getting timberlands to do that with this fall but now I may have to get these! Thanks
I live in India I can't find this type of boots what can I do now?
This will work on most leather shoes or boots
I just buy used ones
That's actually the best way!
Lol doc martens are easy to break. Try some loggers pnw
I don’t understand what does break in mean?
reducing stiffness of the leather
You need to soften the leather so they are comfortable to wear.
