I’ve always been decent at art but man your videos have really pushed me to become so much better!! So many valuable tips and never did I expect colored pencils over graphite!! Never seen it done that way but it looks stunning! I thought it would look muddy but it looks soft and warm with great coloring
I have the older Derwent..that were round and the the colour of the pencil goes the whole way not the black hexagonal ones…I don’t think the studio ones were available when I got mine about 40 years ago
@@smoothie77drawingpainting yes that’s right..great pencils and well manufactured back then..both sets had the same colours I believe but the artist range had more pencils in the largest set..I felt so lucky to own them ..they were a prized possession
Jon, this was a lovely drawing to do in graphite, and it definitely been enhanced with the coloured pencils. Is this something you intendng on pursuing in the future?
such beautiful art ....
Thank you, very kind of you!

I was just using my mother's Eberhard Faber Mongol water soluble pencils from her college days in 1931.
Wow they are old, I bet they work well though :)
Wonderful!😊
Thank you!

I have the Derwent artist pencils too which sound like the ones you mention, I think they are same as the studios but with thicker cores.
