The word Khione literally means *snow/frost* Khione is the *goddess of snow and ice* who rules the north region. She is this all powerful goddess with a temper. She also has a thing with Hermes the *god of speed* -flash- -savitar- along with travel trade thieves etc. She also has a thing with apolo the sun god -Firestorm- in greek mythology. Hermes is obsessed with finding a girl and then he finds one and then he meets khione and falls for her. ~i knew my useless knowledge of greek mythology would one day be usefull lol.~ I hope this isnt something those writers will just make a small deal of in the coming episodes because there are many interesting ways they could go with this. She could be a descendant of Khione from her fathers side hence caitlin Snow making KF part of her dna and her father did experiments on her to maybe suppress it or awaken it probably the latter but could be the former which could be why she didnt know about it and would explain her mom helping her dad. Genetic mutation could also be the link between thomas being icicle and cait being KF. Savitar is barry from the future so im pretty sure he knew she was linked to khione and he wanted to be a god and who better by your side than a goddess! (wink wink~nudge nudge) Jay called her a queen. Amunet told her they could be goddesses and we all been suspecting amunet knows more about caitlin than she lets on. And with how much she praises caitlin id wager she knows shes speaking to a goddess. Thomas might have experimented on her because of some obsession or something and khione could have been trapped inside caitlin all this time and that is why killerfrost is a dual personality, because it is a different person who is trapped inside Caitlin. And in the next episode thomas might be trying to bring back killerfrost after he becomes icicle. Though all this still doesnt explain the fact that her father had a picture of Khione who looks exactly like Caitlin in the present. So it could be reincarnation as well. The flash is the only show that hasnt dabbled in actual Magic per say of all the arrowverse shows so this greek mythology arc could be really interesting and since its caitlins storyline i hope they do it well cause shes the only reason im still watching.

Couldn’t agree more with the reasoning behind why they had Iris jump off that building. I also thought it annoy and rolled my eyes so hard I gave myself a headache. Lol It made me feel bad for Ralph (and I genuinely don’t care about him but I do like him more then Iris) because he has the powers and could cushion the fall (if need be) and bring a little humor to it as well. But instead we have Iris doing this massively stupid thing just so everything will be “shway” with Nora and that can become buddy buddies. So annoying. What I want to know is why is it so dang bad for even one person to NOT suck up to Iris? Why must everyone be so excepting of this over baring, obnoxious, selfish, pigheaded b*tch? I mean she doesn’t even really like any of them, just the barking orders and bossiness of it all. And I don’t even think she truly loves Barry, never has and never will. There is really no logical explanation to her falling faster than barry and staying stable enough whilst falling at that rate to get ahold of tied-up-barry and unlocking at the first try other than forced stupid writing to prop up a character. Also barry is tied to a chair and because of the added weight itself barry would fall faster than iris and iris spreads her hand out as she falls to gain momentum yes but it also should have made her a bit slower than barry and it wasnt that tall of a building. So again illogical writing. It also makes her not the best 'leader' for not opting the obviously smarter choice of elongated man. And those writers themselves have written says that nora is the fastest woman and yet shes still didnt reach barry the instant she got that call. She should have but they really had to write this much bs to make iris seem a badass. To go to such lengths as to make every single other character of the show unavailable. That only shows how much of a badass she isnt lol.

You forgot to add, that the logic of Iris jumping off the building to save Barry is stupid. Everything falls as the same speed. If Barry fell off first and had quite a distance from the roof before Iris jumped, Iris wouldn’t have been able to reach him. Ralph would have because he has control of the speed his arms are going, but Iris would have just ended up killing herself to appear a “hero”. I get that this show it’s realistic and it’s fictional, but having science a part of the show gives it even a bigger reason for them to obey some of its laws.

In this little community we have here, is a place where we come and connect our similar ideas. We don’t like the idea of having Iris and Barry as a couple. It just seems a little gross and just straight uncomfortable to see people that grew up with the mentality of them being brother and sister. Me personally, I didn’t like Iris since episode one. She seemed self centered and just ughhhh. I didn’t like the vibe she gave off. Maybe it was just the actor, or maybe it was the writers that made her that way. You say that her jumping off the building shows her appreciation and love for Barry. Maybe you’re right. But I (and a bunch of other people) see it as the writers trying to force Barry and Iris together on us. I love The Flash. It’s one of my favorite TV shows. And I know that I’m not forced to watch anything that I don’t want to. I’m not stupid. It’s just that one thing that just ruins it is Iris and Barry. Iris is the worst wife ever. Barry was trying so hard this episode and Iris was completely uninterested in reciprocating. It is almost impossible to believe that Iris loves Barry in a romantic way (and she certainly doesn't love Barry in the same way as she loved Eddie), and her saving Barry this episode doesn't change that. That is why my Snowbarry hopes are still strong. Someday Barry is gonna take off his blinders.
When the writers break physics to make Iris a hero. I'm no scientist but I'm pretty sure Barry who was already falling a few seconds before Iris, should have been way closer to the ground and iris shouldn't have been able to reach him. Unless the chair slows down acceleration so Barry wouldn't be too fast but if it did then Iris should have smacked into Barry when she tried to unlock the cuffs so it still fails anyways because the chair Barry was sitting on would decrease his terminal velocity causing his maximum speed while falling to be slower than Iris' straight fall.

The show itself has become a parallel to the story of Barry and Caitlin. I can write a freaking essay on the parallels. Even though they're working in separate teams since season 3, there is NO episode where there are no parallels (or matching clothes). Jack Ryan I doubt that will ever happen since the writers are so obsessed with “sticking to the comics.” Iris wasn’t as terrible in this episode compared to all the others, and the next episode, we’re supposed to see Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin together finally. Maybe we’ll see their friendship again, and maybe Iris won’t be as annoying. Felicity has gotten better since season four, so for Iris it’s totally possible.

I agree with everything you say. I just wished you include the scene with Nora and Cecile talking with each other and Nora telling Cecile that Iris is a bad parent. (I forgot what she exactly said but something about Iris.) Also while Nora was telling Cecile about that, if you look closely you see Nora drinking the Killer Frost drink from Jitters. Which makes me think that Nora prefers Caitlin more than Iris. I know you said that in other episode but, she was drinking the Killer Frost drink, more reasons Nora prefer Caitlin even more.

I mean how did she get to the stadium to shoot Nora with the tranq gun? Cisco wasn't there to breach her, and the discs need a destination to breach her to so how was it programmed so quickly without Cisco who is a tech-genius because I can't see Iris 'science is for nerds' West doing it so quickly. And this episode, instead of having Ralph use his powers to either stop his descent or cushion his fall they had Iris jump off the building somehow falling faster than Barry strapped to the chair, pull out a swipe-key and somehow being coordinated enough with the force of gravity and the rushing wind working against her to swipe the key in one precise movement to free him...all before they hit the ground and just before Nora 'the fastest woman alive' was able to get there...I know this show redefines the impossible but this was just too much in the name of making Iris appear more than she is and to have Nora start to hero worship her who can 'do the impossible without powers' Unlike Cisco and Caitlin who pretty much all the actual science and heavy-lifting before Barry puts on his suit for the final confrontation nowdays instead of season 1&2 where he helped them and pout in his own expertise, but that was pre WA drama "we're important too" that's pretty much defined season 3-5 so far. But sure, Nora, idolise the woman who the writers prefer to retcon a personality instead of showing actual character development, that can't possibly end badly. My castle for a sarcasm font 😫

I want them to acknowledge the connection between killerfrost and the speedforce. KF in the comics her power is that she can transform the heat particles around her into ice by raising the temperature by using her energy. And we have all seen that her powers work at a fast enough rate to stop speedsters whilst they are running fast. Speedforce could be like an energy or power booster for killerfrost because of all the heat. And her being not like other metahumans could be why she can be in tune with caitlin and caitlin can be present in the moment when she is in the speedforce. Or it could also be a completely different theory. I just really hope they address it because that way we get another reason barry and caitlin would be perfect for each other. Speed and cold are opposites so they both even each other out. Speed can work against ice and ice can work against speed. Also barry having the speedforce in him after season 3 would mean that if killerfrost kissed him now he wouldnt die because of the endless energy inside him the kiss would have no harmful effect on him since he heals fast. And it also means she could actually kiss someone without hurting them! now that firestorm is no longer there. *FlashFrost really is That powerful.*

Just another thing occured to me recently which I don't think I've seen mentioned. In episode 3x20 when Barry tried to talk down Killer Frost, they said a few lines in sync: "You're one of us" - "We're family" - "We protect each other till the end" Wedding vows right there, lol
Rumors has it that, Caitlin and Barry are suppose to be together proven by the Periodic table, The Speedforce, when he traveled back in time and only saw Killer Frost. And now, by mythological. Khione, the goddess of Ice and Snow, and Hermes, the god of speed. And guess what? Hermes and Khione have twins together. ahahaha, I screaming of joy and happiness.

Arrow, Supergirl and Legends all have their leaders care about people/team-mates outside their S.O, so why is the Flash so different? Because we've had Caitlin doubt who she is and her worth to the team without Killer Frost (no Iris or Barry around, they were focused on themselves...again) and then was reminded that she's never needed powers to be exceptional (by Amunet which was unexpected but also kind of cool that even the bad-guys like Caitlin) and Ralph screwed up and thought he'd be kicked out of the team and Caitlin hurt herself to bring KF to the surface to talk some sense into him and now Cisco can't use his powers at the moment without severe pain and seizures and he's doubting his worth to the team and yet again it's Caitlin who reminds him he's Cisco Ramon and he is so much more than his powers...remind me again who's the leader/heart of the Flash again because from what I've seen, Iris and Barry aren't paying enough attention to people other than themselves and their drama to be leading anyone. I mean even with the other 4 focusing on helping Caitlin find her dad, they're all still around the lab to get stuff done a good chunk of the time, but it's not until Nora's character was forced to put aside her (in my opinion) very legitimate beef's (ones that a lot of fans echo) with Iris' treatment of her since she was a kid, but not because of any character development but because she's been nagged into submission by people she's loved and idolised all her life who now treat her like her past and opinions don't matter if they're not rose-tinted like theirs when it comes to Iris, that Barry will even remember that Cisco and Caitlin are his friends and realise he's not the only one with stuff going on. Bring on next weeks episode because Barry has some serious explaining to do. Cisco and Caitlin aren't hiding their search for Caitlin's father, Barry just hasn't looked up from Iris and Nora's stuff to know somethings going on. Don't even get me started on the bullshit retconned "Iris was her newspaper editor at 11, exposed a corrupt teacher at 15 and won heaps of awards" because as far as I'm concerned I believe the season 1 Iris being talked into journalism classes and hating them and making up quotes to fill her assignments/articles because it was written during a period where the writers weren't trying to use every opportunity to boost up Iris character without any actual character development, it was a large part of her original character arc, and they just completely contradicted themselves, probably saying 'Flashpoint did it' all the while. And her diving off the building? Yeah I'm pretty sure Barry tied to a chair would be heavier than Iris as is, so would definitely fall faster, and I doubt that Iris would have been able to reach him, pull the key out of her pocket and then, in one precise movement, reach the lock, get the key in the lock and turn it before either she or Barry went splat. Such lazy writing to try to make Iris look good and have Nora idolise her and the writers should be ashamed it even made it into the script. Stop trying to make Iris the hero of the show, BARRY is the hero and to have him have to be saved three times already this season by which is only 5 episodes in is so insulting and ridiculous it makes me wonder what the writers are trying to do to the actual main character of this show, if not completely emasculate him. Apparently, no-one told these writers you don't need to completely break down a male character to try and boost up a female character. It's a trope I *HATE* and should not be happening or glorified and dubbed the 'golden couple'! It's something Arrow did very right last season, Oliver and Felicity were *partners* by each of them doing what they did to support the team and each other without trying to take over the others job within the team. And they questioned each other's decisions for logical reasons not just because one of them always had to be right in all scenarios. I can't imagine why the writers have written Iris so poorly since Flashpoint (not that she was all that awesome in season 1&2 but she got less screen time so it didn't matter as much and she had her own thing going on) unless they actually *want* us to hate her so they can write her heroically leaving Central City alone to find herself (and build her career as a journalist) when she's not the Flash's wife, because if they're trying to get us to like her, they're going about it all the wrong way and at this point it's definitely too little too late. They've had 5 seasons and they've wasted them with her depending on other people to save her from her stupid decisions, having everything in her life (career included, what's left of it anyway) because of Barry and the fact he's the Flash who's given her ungettable information that landed her the job as a journalist, selfish decision making, changing her mind about life-changing things on a dime, disrespecting Barry's mother at her grave, and so many other things. Are the other members of the team perfect? No, but for the most part when they make a mistake they admit it and try to make up for it. Iris rarely admits she's in the wrong (only one time I can think of when she hid Wally from her dad and even then...) and even her dad blames *Barry* for her stupid decisions a lot of the time for not stopping her instead of holding her responsible for her own actions or sometimes she's even praised because the plot allowed it to work out in the end instead of it blowing up in her face which it would have on any other Arrowverse show where consequences for stupid actions still mostly outweigh 'S.O was right for plot reasons'.
The writers don't put Iris in scenes with anyone other than Barry and NoraJr because (A) They know the actress has no chemistry with the cast in general, so they limit them and (B) It's their incredibly unsubtle way of shoving WestAllen down our throats. But, yeah, like you said, it makes her look like a crappy leader since she never interacts with the actual heart of the team, the scientists Cisco and Caitlin. How is the team functioning with 2 separate factions, The WestAllen Family one one side and The Scientists/Detectives on the other? And the writers just pull everthing regarding Iris' backstory out of their collective asses! lol Remember that wedding speech at the end of the crossover where she said something about Barry helping her with some poem she was reciting for a class project? I didn't buy that at all mostly because Iris' emotions always reek of inauthenticity to me. And notice how almost every character second-guesses themselves and has internal conflict EXCEPT for Iris? It's like the writers want her to be perfect, but in doing so, it accomplishes the opposite. It just makes her seem like a person who never has obstacles, never has to work for anything and just gets every accomplishment and success handed to her on a silver platter. They want to force her as the heart of the show and team so badly that they are trying to make every character imperfect to the point where she seems like the only one who has no faults. And Cecile building up Iris for NoraJr is almost the same to me as when Joe spoke up Barry for Wally. That's NOT the way you develop a relationship between 2 characters, by having a third party pimp the disliked character. Wally should come to like Barry on his own and NoraJr should come to care about her mother on her own. If you need someone else to tell you how great a person is and you can't come to that conclusion on your own, then maybe that person isn't worth knowing. EDIT: But at least with Wally/Barry, there was a hidden reason that Joe couldn't reveal. With NoraJr/Iris, there isn't some hidden secret. NoraJr probably hated Iris because Iris is just not a good person.
@@drlee2 I love Cecile, don't get me wrong, but I really wanted one person to not take sides in the Nora Vs Iris thing or at least hear Nora out instead of immediately chastising her and telling her that Iris was right and she was wrong and acting like her experiences didn't matter because they hadn't happened yet. They're dismissing everything that's happened in Nora's life because *they* haven't lived it yet. I wanted one person to sit down with Nora and hear about her life and experiences without immediately saying "that's not this Iris" because it *is* the Iris Nora knew most of her life, and they shouldn't be so quick to sweep the pain and betrayal she felt under the rug because they don't want to believe that's who Iris turns into. Watching Iris trying to relate to anyone other than Barry or Joe is so wooden and stilted it's hard not to lose immersion because you don't believe a 'supportive' word coming out of Iris' mouth because that's just not who we've seen as a character, she's had ties to the lab for 5 YEARS and she barely seems to tolerate Cisco and Caitlin's presence, same for Ralph and whichever incarnation of Wells is around. She just doesn't seem to care much about them beyond their abilities as employees for her to boss around. There is a fine line between controlling and assertive and Iris is deep on the wrong side of it, both in her personal life and at the lab where she has no real reason to be beyond the fact she has no life or career of her own anymore. With Wally and Barry, it was more a sibling rivalry thing, which neither of them was prepared for and got a bit out of hand. Wally probably felt like Barry lived the life that had been meant for him, whereas Barry probably felt insecure about his place as Joe's son when his blood-related son came into the picture. And yet we're not supposed to find it gross Barry married his foster-sister...right. Anyway, the writers ended up treating Wally poorly and made Barry look like a jerk in the process. I hope Wally gets treated better whichever show he ends up on because he has so much potential.

The only thing Iris has in common with Cecile is Joe. It's the same as Iris only having Barry in common with the StarLabs' team. You've got yet another character that Iris barely gives the time of day singing her praises like she's some great person when the narrative has shown her to be a selfish, mean person. And, honestly, I have a problem with NoraJr as well. The actress plays the role like she's a little kid (yet she's mid-30s in real life) and also isn't she violating the timeline even sticking around the past for so long and not going back to the future? Why is it that Barry could only be in Flashpoint timeline and other times for a very short time before things went to hell, yet the WestAllen kid can just easily stay around for as long as she wants? Apparently, so the writers can show what great parents Barry and Iris are without going through the normal beats. The writers pulled this automatic kid card, then created BS problems just so it could all get resolved by a speech from Cecile and force NoraJr to love a character she apparently hates from her own timeline? I don't know, maybe she hates Iris because of the stuff we've seen from the character for the last 4 seasons! lol EDIT: I had to add this part because I didn't see your entire comment, but the thing you said about Iris only interacting with Barry and Joe. I realized recently that Iris has actually known Cisco and Caitlin for longer than Barry has known them because she met them visiting the lab while Barry was in the coma for 9 months and Barry didn't meet them until the Pilot. You would think that Iris would have SOMETHING in common with them given all that time she supposedly visited the lab. I don't know, build up some kind of friendship or rapport. But...nothing. And, honestly, I feel like the writers have officially divided the show into 2 camps with the arrival of NoraJr. It's WestAllens versus Non-WestAllens. Just because Iris can't get along with Caitlin and Cisco doesn't mean she should be shoved into the lab pushing them out of their livelihood.
@@drlee2 I think they're trying to show Nora as still having the enthusiasm and joy of having her powers but still hasn't come against some of the worse hardships that sometimes come from being a hero...and you just know Iris will use the first set-back to show why she was right to keep her from that kind of pain, like helping people and the other good parts don't more than make-up for it most of the time. Yeah, it's sad that even Cecile barely listened to Nora before bringing down the 'you must not get upset about what future Iris does, because that's not this Iris yet.' How can no-one care the damage they're inadvertently doing to Norajr by having her family ignore the pain and betrayal she's felt because to them it hasn't happened yet. And Barry who can empathise with both sides just dismisses Norajr without hearing her out and just blindly siding with Iris because it's one of his biggest faults: treating Iris like she can do no wrong. I really hope that blind belief blows up in his face this season because honestly something's gotta give. I think that shows the difference between knowing a person and *understand and relating* to them. Iris knew them but probably gave very little notice or interest in their lives, whereas Barry connected with the pair almost immediately because they have so much in common. Which also makes it hard to believe that either of the genius level intellects would take orders from someone who treats them as employees to yell at and order around most of the time, I mean look how she yelled at them this episode after Barry went missing, like they need her adding to they'd already put on themselves to figure everything out.

People need to be pumping her up that she's not a worthless person, not the other way around.

Whilst acknowledging everything written already (and agreeing with most of it), what I really enjoyed in the episode was the deep friendship between Caitlin and Cisco. That was beautifully done.
You know I am not a Snowbarry relationship fan. Mostly cause I think Caitlin is too good for Barry. I mean how are you gonna ignore someone for almost 3 seasons who is supposed to be one of your closest friends? Now that Caitlin is a potential descendant of a Greek Goddess I definitely feel she is too good for him. Also, while I thoroughly enjoyed the Nora showdown with Iris it just makes me even more mad at the writers. To me, that scene shows the writers know the Iris story line they have been shoving down our throats the past 2 seasons is ridiculous yet they continue to do so! Have some things to say, basically about: 1) CECILE- You didnt put on the video idk why but in thus episode Cecile tells sotry´s of Iris to Nora saying that there were from barry and she just love the story and luahgs a lot but in the end she realises thata they are fom iris and CECILE JUST LET ME DOWN! She was always this person who said what she thought and in this episode Nora kinda disrespect Iris and cecile defends iris saying that that is a west house and that all westd must be respected and puts IRIS IN THE PEDESTAL this time. It´s so frustrating bc i was kind of hoping Cecile wouldnt be another character they would use to call Nora to reason (and this is that she shouldnt hate Iris which btw she should cause... i mean... taking away her powers like a control freak and i dont even know how the writters even dared to touch the perfect and saint Iris West ) (and YES im not calling her Iris West-ALLEN! I have a theory for the 100th episode, as we know every speedster that Barry has faced before will appear. Although we aren't sure whether Zoom or Black Flash is going to fighting Barry, or both. I think that Zoom will be fighting against Barry, but Black Flash is going to help stop(meaning Black Flash has to kill(not Barry do he technically is still a good hero) them). As the evil speedsters are going to be time displaced(not illusions, since that would be absolute bullshit) or something else that makes them real. So Barry has to team up Black Flash to stop them. Please tell me your theories for the 100th episode or any plot holes with my theory.
I am sorry, but I have to point out. Up until this episode I was kind of on Nora's side because I know what it is like when your own parent doesn't seem like she loves you. Like she does too much and then nothing at all at the same time. But here Nora almost killed people. Regardless of what you think of Iris, blaming her for your own failures is just wrong. Nora should completely understand that this Iris is not yet a mother, she hasn't lost Barry, she's not that person as she will be in the future. And Nora just cut her off, resulting in two people almost dying. You don't put your own feelings up front of everyone else's if lives are at stake. Come to think of it, this makes Nora pretty identical to Iris (Season 4), and Felicity (Season 4).... Oh my god.
Also , you did not include a deleted scene of Rag Doll in prison where he talks with Mardon who says a storm is coming and when the lightning strikes and it will , he better stay in the eye of the storm : From the looks of the last episode one could wrongfully assume it s the end of SnowBarry . However , no matter how calm the WA ship is , a storm is coming of lightning and snow . SnowBarry is coming !

Khione is the *goddess of snow and ice* who rules the north region. She is this all powerful goddess with a temper. She also has a thing with Hermes the *god of speed* -flash- -savitar- along with travel trade thieves etc. She also has a thing with apolo the sun god -Firestorm- in greek mythology.
Hermes is obsessed with finding a girl and then he finds one and then he meets khione and falls for her. ~i knew my useless knowledge of greek mythology would one day be usefull lol.~
I hope this isnt something those writers will just make a small deal of in the coming episodes because there are many interesting ways they could go with this.
She could be a descendant of Khione from her fathers side hence caitlin Snow making KF part of her dna and her father did experiments on her to maybe suppress it or awaken it probably the latter but could be the former which could be why she didnt know about it and would explain her mom helping her dad. Genetic mutation could also be the link between thomas being icicle and cait being KF.

Thomas might have experimented on her because of some obsession or something and khione could have been trapped inside caitlin all this time and that is why killerfrost is a dual personality, because it is a different person who is trapped inside Caitlin. And in the next episode thomas might be trying to bring back killerfrost after he becomes icicle.
Though all this still doesnt explain the fact that her father had a picture of Khione who looks exactly like Caitlin in the present. So it could be reincarnation as well.
The flash is the only show that hasnt dabbled in actual Magic per say of all the arrowverse shows so this greek mythology arc could be really interesting and since its caitlins storyline i hope they do it well cause shes the only reason im still watching.

And I have a feeling that they'll put a spotlight on "the family you're born into V's the family you make for yourself" especially with the small clip of Caitlin saying her dad is the only family she had. Annnd the WA shippers will make a huge deal of Caitlin not being loyal and willing to jump ship at the first opportunity (joining Savitar, which I could understand at the time, but would anyone be as understanding again?) but would be much more in character if, like last time, she ultimately chooses her made family, ie chooses to side with Cisco, though we'll probably have some useless Iris scene that magically brings Caitlin around because when have they not tried to use her as the ultimate 'pep-talk turn enemy to our side' giver? Well except any actual big bad who could tear stuff up or without a brain except Marlize which was a real kick in the teeth.

Couldn’t agree more with the reasoning behind why they had Iris jump off that building. I also thought it annoy and rolled my eyes so hard I gave myself a headache. Lol It made me feel bad for Ralph (and I genuinely don’t care about him but I do like him more then Iris) because he has the powers and could cushion the fall (if need be) and bring a little humor to it as well. But instead we have Iris doing this massively stupid thing just so everything will be “shway” with Nora and that can become buddy buddies. So annoying. What I want to know is why is it so dang bad for even one person to NOT suck up to Iris? Why must everyone be so excepting of this over baring, obnoxious, selfish, pigheaded b*tch? I mean she doesn’t even really like any of them, just the barking orders and bossiness of it all. And I don’t even think she truly loves Barry, never has and never will. How much you bet Nora was an accident? Seriously, Iris does not strike me as the kind of person who actually WANTS to be a mother.

There is really no logical explanation to her falling faster than barry and staying stable enough whilst falling at that rate to get ahold of tied-up-barry and unlocking at the first try other than forced stupid writing to prop up a character. Also barry is tied to a chair and because of the added weight itself barry would fall faster than iris and iris spreads her hand out as she falls to gain momentum yes but it also should have made her a bit slower than barry and it wasnt that tall of a building. So again illogical writing.

If Barry fell off first and had quite a distance from the roof before Iris jumped, Iris wouldn’t have been able to reach him. Ralph would have because he has control of the speed his arms are going, but Iris would have just ended up killing herself to appear a “hero”. I get that this show it’s realistic and it’s fictional, but having science a part of the show gives it even a bigger reason for them to obey some of its laws.

It is almost impossible to believe that Iris loves Barry in a romantic way (and she certainly doesn't love Barry in the same way as she loved Eddie), and her saving Barry this episode doesn't change that. That is why my Snowbarry hopes are still strong. Someday Barry is gonna take off his blinders.

When the writers break physics to make Iris a hero. I'm no scientist but I'm pretty sure Barry who was already falling a few seconds before Iris, should have been way closer to the ground and iris shouldn't have been able to reach him. Unless the chair slows down acceleration so Barry wouldn't be too fast but if it did then Iris should have smacked into Barry when she tried to unlock the cuffs so it still fails anyways because the chair Barry was sitting on would decrease his terminal velocity causing his maximum speed while falling to be slower than Iris' straight fall.

Jack Ryan I doubt that will ever happen since the writers are so obsessed with “sticking to the comics.” Iris wasn’t as terrible in this episode compared to all the others, and the next episode, we’re supposed to see Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin together finally. Maybe we’ll see their friendship again, and maybe Iris won’t be as annoying. Felicity has gotten better since season four, so for Iris it’s totally possible.

(I forgot what she exactly said but something about Iris.) Also while Nora was telling Cecile about that, if you look closely you see Nora drinking the Killer Frost drink from Jitters. Which makes me think that Nora prefers Caitlin more than Iris. I know you said that in other episode but, she was drinking the Killer Frost drink, more reasons Nora prefer Caitlin even more.

Dude Is the flash still a thing ? Like the reason we watch the show what was the last good flash vs villain 1 on 1 fight it's annoying me so much how weak Barry is this season. Like stop focusing on iris lookin smart and strong and do it for Barry once
Mario is Da boss I believe you meant to say 'trying' to make Iris look strong and smart because every time they do it it's less and less believable. I mean how did she get to the stadium to shoot Nora with the tranq gun? Cisco wasn't there to breach her, and the discs need a destination to breach her to so how was it programmed so quickly without Cisco who is a tech-genius because I can't see Iris 'science is for nerds' West doing it so quickly. And this episode, instead of having Ralph use his powers to either stop his descent or cushion his fall they had Iris jump off the building somehow falling faster than Barry strapped to the chair, pull out a swipe-key and somehow being coordinated enough with the force of gravity and the rushing wind working against her to swipe the key in one precise movement to free him...all before they hit the ground and just before Nora 'the fastest woman alive' was able to get there...I know this show redefines the impossible but this was just too much in the name of making Iris appear more than she is and to have Nora start to hero worship her who can 'do the impossible without powers' Unlike Cisco and Caitlin who pretty much all the actual science and heavy-lifting before Barry puts on his suit for the final confrontation nowdays instead of season 1&2 where he helped them and pout in his own expertise, but that was pre WA drama "we're important too" that's pretty much defined season 3-5 so far. But sure, Nora, idolise the woman who the writers prefer to retcon a personality instead of showing actual character development, that can't possibly end badly.

I want them to acknowledge the connection between killerfrost and the speedforce.
KF in the comics her power is that she can transform the heat particles around her into ice by raising the temperature by using her energy. And we have all seen that her powers work at a fast enough rate to stop speedsters whilst they are running fast. Speedforce could be like an energy or power booster for killerfrost because of all the heat. And her being not like other metahumans could be why she can be in tune with caitlin and caitlin can be present in the moment when she is in the speedforce.
Or it could also be a completely different theory. I just really hope they address it because that way we get another reason barry and caitlin would be perfect for each other.
Speed and cold are opposites so they both even each other out. Speed can work against ice and ice can work against speed.
Also barry having the speedforce in him after season 3 would mean that if killerfrost kissed him now he wouldnt die because of the endless energy inside him the kiss would have no harmful effect on him since he heals fast. And it also means she could actually kiss someone without hurting them! now that firestorm is no longer there.

Right after I watched this I went to watch the scene where Iris saves barry and everyone in the comments was all like she is so brave, she loves him so much and I'm all like there is no way in seven hells that she was able to get to him on time, by now barry and Iris are splattered on the pavement
Ok, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a good leader supposed to interact and care about *all* members of the team, not just those closest to themselves? Arrow, Supergirl and Legends all have their leaders care about people/team-mates outside their S.O, so why is the Flash so different? Because we've had Caitlin doubt who she is and her worth to the team without Killer Frost (no Iris or Barry around, they were focused on themselves...again) and then was reminded that she's never needed powers to be exceptional (by Amunet which was unexpected but also kind of cool that even the bad-guys like Caitlin) and Ralph screwed up and thought he'd be kicked out of the team and Caitlin hurt herself to bring KF to the surface to talk some sense into him and now Cisco can't use his powers at the moment without severe pain and seizures and he's doubting his worth to the team and yet again it's Caitlin who reminds him he's Cisco Ramon and he is so much more than his powers...remind me again who's the leader/heart of the Flash again because from what I've seen, Iris and Barry aren't paying enough attention to people other than themselves and their drama to be leading anyone. I mean even with the other 4 focusing on helping Caitlin find her dad, they're all still around the lab to get stuff done a good chunk of the time, but it's not until Nora's character was forced to put aside her (in my opinion) very legitimate beef's (ones that a lot of fans echo) with Iris' treatment of her since she was a kid, but not because of any character development but because she's been nagged into submission by people she's loved and idolised all her life who now treat her like her past and opinions don't matter if they're not rose-tinted like theirs when it comes to Iris, that Barry will even remember that Cisco and Caitlin are his friends and realise he's not the only one with stuff going on. Bring on next weeks episode because Barry has some serious explaining to do. Cisco and Caitlin aren't hiding their search for Caitlin's father, Barry just hasn't looked up from Iris and Nora's stuff to know somethings going on.
Don't even get me started on the bullshit retconned "Iris was her newspaper editor at 11, exposed a corrupt teacher at 15 and won heaps of awards" because as far as I'm concerned I believe the season 1 Iris being talked into journalism classes and hating them and making up quotes to fill her assignments/articles because it was written during a period where the writers weren't trying to use every opportunity to boost up Iris character without any actual character development, it was a large part of her original character arc, and they just completely contradicted themselves, probably saying 'Flashpoint did it' all the while. And her diving off the building? Yeah I'm pretty sure Barry tied to a chair would be heavier than Iris as is, so would definitely fall faster, and I doubt that Iris would have been able to reach him, pull the key out of her pocket and then, in one precise movement, reach the lock, get the key in the lock and turn it before either she or Barry went splat. Such lazy writing to try to make Iris look good and have Nora idolise her and the writers should be ashamed it even made it into the script. Stop trying to make Iris the hero of the show, BARRY is the hero and to have him have to be saved three times already this season by which is only 5 episodes in is so insulting and ridiculous it makes me wonder what the writers are trying to do to the actual main character of this show, if not completely emasculate him. Apparently, no-one told these writers you don't need to completely break down a male character to try and boost up a female character. It's a trope I *HATE* and should not be happening or glorified and dubbed the 'golden couple'! It's something Arrow did very right last season, Oliver and Felicity were *partners* by each of them doing what they did to support the team and each other without trying to take over the others job within the team. And they questioned each other's decisions for logical reasons not just because one of them always had to be right in all scenarios. I can't imagine why the writers have written Iris so poorly since Flashpoint (not that she was all that awesome in season 1&2 but she got less screen time so it didn't matter as much and she had her own thing going on) unless they actually *want* us to hate her so they can write her heroically leaving Central City alone to find herself (and build her career as a journalist) when she's not the Flash's wife, because if they're trying to get us to like her, they're going about it all the wrong way and at this point it's definitely too little too late. They've had 5 seasons and they've wasted them with her depending on other people to save her from her stupid decisions, having everything in her life (career included, what's left of it anyway) because of Barry and the fact he's the Flash who's given her ungettable information that landed her the job as a journalist, selfish decision making, changing her mind about life-changing things on a dime, disrespecting Barry's mother at her grave, and so many other things. Are the other members of the team perfect? No, but for the most part when they make a mistake they admit it and try to make up for it. Iris rarely admits she's in the wrong (only one time I can think of when she hid Wally from her dad and even then...) and even her dad blames *Barry* for her stupid decisions a lot of the time for not stopping her instead of holding her responsible for her own actions or sometimes she's even praised because the plot allowed it to work out in the end instead of it blowing up in her face which it would have on any other Arrowverse show where consequences for stupid actions still mostly outweigh 'S.O was right for plot reasons'.
The writers don't put Iris in scenes with anyone other than Barry and NoraJr because (A) They know the actress has no chemistry with the cast in general, so they limit them and (B) It's their incredibly unsubtle way of shoving WestAllen down our throats. But, yeah, like you said, it makes her look like a crappy leader since she never interacts with the actual heart of the team, the scientists Cisco and Caitlin. How is the team functioning with 2 separate factions, The WestAllen Family one one side and The Scientists/Detectives on the other? And the writers just pull everthing regarding Iris' backstory out of their collective asses! lol Remember that wedding speech at the end of the crossover where she said something about Barry helping her with some poem she was reciting for a class project? I didn't buy that at all mostly because Iris' emotions always reek of inauthenticity to me. And notice how almost every character second-guesses themselves and has internal conflict EXCEPT for Iris? It's like the writers want her to be perfect, but in doing so, it accomplishes the opposite. It just makes her seem like a person who never has obstacles, never has to work for anything and just gets every accomplishment and success handed to her on a silver platter. They want to force her as the heart of the show and team so badly that they are trying to make every character imperfect to the point where she seems like the only one who has no faults. And Cecile building up Iris for NoraJr is almost the same to me as when Joe spoke up Barry for Wally. That's NOT the way you develop a relationship between 2 characters, by having a third party pimp the disliked character. Wally should come to like Barry on his own and NoraJr should come to care about her mother on her own. If you need someone else to tell you how great a person is and you can't come to that conclusion on your own, then maybe that person isn't worth knowing. EDIT: But at least with Wally/Barry, there was a hidden reason that Joe couldn't reveal. With NoraJr/Iris, there isn't some hidden secret. NoraJr probably hated Iris because Iris is just not a good person.
@@drlee2 I love Cecile, don't get me wrong, but I really wanted one person to not take sides in the Nora Vs Iris thing or at least hear Nora out instead of immediately chastising her and telling her that Iris was right and she was wrong and acting like her experiences didn't matter because they hadn't happened yet. They're dismissing everything that's happened in Nora's life because *they* haven't lived it yet. I wanted one person to sit down with Nora and hear about her life and experiences without immediately saying "that's not this Iris" because it *is* the Iris Nora knew most of her life, and they shouldn't be so quick to sweep the pain and betrayal she felt under the rug because they don't want to believe that's who Iris turns into.
Watching Iris trying to relate to anyone other than Barry or Joe is so wooden and stilted it's hard not to lose immersion because you don't believe a 'supportive' word coming out of Iris' mouth because that's just not who we've seen as a character, she's had ties to the lab for 5 YEARS and she barely seems to tolerate Cisco and Caitlin's presence, same for Ralph and whichever incarnation of Wells is around. She just doesn't seem to care much about them beyond their abilities as employees for her to boss around. There is a fine line between controlling and assertive and Iris is deep on the wrong side of it, both in her personal life and at the lab where she has no real reason to be beyond the fact she has no life or career of her own anymore.
With Wally and Barry, it was more a sibling rivalry thing, which neither of them was prepared for and got a bit out of hand. Wally probably felt like Barry lived the life that had been meant for him, whereas Barry probably felt insecure about his place as Joe's son when his blood-related son came into the picture. And yet we're not supposed to find it gross Barry married his foster-sister...right. Anyway, the writers ended up treating Wally poorly and made Barry look like a jerk in the process. I hope Wally gets treated better whichever show he ends up on because he has so much potential.
@@ALittleTooWordy A lot of people have speculated that Cecile's dialogue was actually meant for Joe, but because the actor is incapacitated due to his offscreen injury, they used Cecile instead and that's a huge problem because it has no impact coming from Cecile because exactly when was it even shown that Cecile and Iris are close? The only thing Iris has in common with Cecile is Joe. It's the same as Iris only having Barry in common with the StarLabs' team. You've got yet another character that Iris barely gives the time of day singing her praises like she's some great person when the narrative has shown her to be a selfish, mean person. And, honestly, I have a problem with NoraJr as well. The actress plays the role like she's a little kid (yet she's mid-30s in real life) and also isn't she violating the timeline even sticking around the past for so long and not going back to the future? Why is it that Barry could only be in Flashpoint timeline and other times for a very short time before things went to hell, yet the WestAllen kid can just easily stay around for as long as she wants? Apparently, so the writers can show what great parents Barry and Iris are without going through the normal beats. The writers pulled this automatic kid card, then created BS problems just so it could all get resolved by a speech from Cecile and force NoraJr to love a character she apparently hates from her own timeline? I don't know, maybe she hates Iris because of the stuff we've seen from the character for the last 4 seasons! lol
EDIT: I had to add this part because I didn't see your entire comment, but the thing you said about Iris only interacting with Barry and Joe. I realized recently that Iris has actually known Cisco and Caitlin for longer than Barry has known them because she met them visiting the lab while Barry was in the coma for 9 months and Barry didn't meet them until the Pilot. You would think that Iris would have SOMETHING in common with them given all that time she supposedly visited the lab. I don't know, build up some kind of friendship or rapport. But...nothing. And, honestly, I feel like the writers have officially divided the show into 2 camps with the arrival of NoraJr. It's WestAllens versus Non-WestAllens. Just because Iris can't get along with Caitlin and Cisco doesn't mean she should be shoved into the lab pushing them out of their livelihood.
@@drlee2 I think they're trying to show Nora as still having the enthusiasm and joy of having her powers but still hasn't come against some of the worse hardships that sometimes come from being a hero...and you just know Iris will use the first set-back to show why she was right to keep her from that kind of pain, like helping people and the other good parts don't more than make-up for it most of the time. Yeah, it's sad that even Cecile barely listened to Nora before bringing down the 'you must not get upset about what future Iris does, because that's not this Iris yet.' How can no-one care the damage they're inadvertently doing to Norajr by having her family ignore the pain and betrayal she's felt because to them it hasn't happened yet. And Barry who can empathise with both sides just dismisses Norajr without hearing her out and just blindly siding with Iris because it's one of his biggest faults: treating Iris like she can do no wrong. I really hope that blind belief blows up in his face this season because honestly something's gotta give.
I think that shows the difference between knowing a person and *understand and relating* to them. Iris knew them but probably gave very little notice or interest in their lives, whereas Barry connected with the pair almost immediately because they have so much in common. Which also makes it hard to believe that either of the genius level intellects would take orders from someone who treats them as employees to yell at and order around most of the time, I mean look how she yelled at them this episode after Barry went missing, like they need her adding to they'd already put on themselves to figure everything out.
@@ALittleTooWordy Maybe, but even Barry didn't act THIS silly and teenager-ish with his powers and I'm being generous because NoraJr acts more like a 10-year old than even a teen. Yes, I don't think Iris should be better friends with Cisco and Caitlin over Barry just because she's known for a few months longer, but you'd think she would have more respect for the people who helped save Barry's life. I should also have mentioned in addition to the fact that the writer tend to keep Iris sheltered away from the rest of the characters, also, SHE is not the one who should be even giving them any sort of validation as she's just a selfish poser with no kind of people skills or any other kind of skills. People need to be pumping her up that she's not a worthless person, not the other way around.

Whilst acknowledging everything written already (and agreeing with most of it), what I really enjoyed in the episode was the deep friendship between Caitlin and Cisco. That was beautifully done.

You know I am not a Snowbarry relationship fan. Mostly cause I think Caitlin is too good for Barry. I mean how are you gonna ignore someone for almost 3 seasons who is supposed to be one of your closest friends? Now that Caitlin is a potential descendant of a Greek Goddess I definitely feel she is too good for him. Also, while I thoroughly enjoyed the Nora showdown with Iris it just makes me even more mad at the writers. To me, that scene shows the writers know the Iris story line they have been shoving down our throats the past 2 seasons is ridiculous yet they continue to do so! I miss the journalist Iris who did not constantly need validation from those around her. Anyway here is my Flash rant for the week.

Have some things to say, basically about:
1) CECILE- You didnt put on the video idk why but in thus episode Cecile tells sotry´s of Iris to Nora saying that there were from barry and she just love the story and luahgs a lot but in the end she realises thata they are fom iris and CECILE JUST LET ME DOWN! She was always this person who said what she thought and in this episode Nora kinda disrespect Iris and cecile defends iris saying that that is a west house and that all westd must be respected and puts IRIS IN THE PEDESTAL this time. It´s so frustrating bc i was kind of hoping Cecile wouldnt be another character they would use to call Nora to reason (and this is that she shouldnt hate Iris which btw she should cause... i mean... taking away her powers like a control freak and i dont even know how the writters even dared to touch the perfect and saint Iris West ) (and YES im not calling her Iris West-ALLEN! There´s no way that gonna happen) and that a little bit dissapointing that they used cecile that way.
2) JOE&CECILE - And let just say, you marry iris and barry but dont marry Joe and Cecile who have a child together like in the present. This is torture but seeing cecile´s actions these episode (which i think should be given more importance) .... well i just dont have that same exitement because obviously your dad´s wife has more "weight" to her opinion than my dad´s girlfriend but Team Flash has her opinion already has important and it wont change and even if it did... cecile is now turning into another of iris´s slaves (in the way that they just admire her so much)
3) THE JUMP- PPPPPLLLEAASEEE! That´s not even plausable! that is not correct scientificaly bc of the difference of weights between iris ad barry, to the position she takes falling, wind force, absence of superpower on iris, gravity laws and forces (newton´s laws), the chair which was falling with barry and you gave us the data of their weight and the others things, we, BS shippers would be able to go on and on and on. But hero series sometimes confront physics and stuff and even forgetting that whole part.. RALPH WAS GOING TO REACH HIM! PLS ! If you wanted to seem like the jump was the last hope, maybe you shuoldnt film ralph trying to reach him and btw BECAUSE OF THAT (prepare yourself for this on please) NORA IS NOT MAD AT IRIS ANYMORE!! And im not even comment about that cause we already knew the writters would make iris do something and nora would see her kindness and stiff therefore changing her opinion and just put the WA family all "ON THE SAME PAGE" -.-'

I have a theory for the 100th episode, as we know every speedster that Barry has faced before will appear. Although we aren't sure whether Zoom or Black Flash is going to fighting Barry, or both. I think that Zoom will be fighting against Barry, but Black Flash is going to help stop(meaning Black Flash has to kill(not Barry do he technically is still a good hero) them). As the evil speedsters are going to be time displaced(not illusions, since that would be absolute bullshit) or something else that makes them real. So Barry has to team up Black Flash to stop them.
Please tell me your theories for the 100th episode or any plot holes with my theory.

I am sorry, but I have to point out. Up until this episode I was kind of on Nora's side because I know what it is like when your own parent doesn't seem like she loves you. Like she does too much and then nothing at all at the same time. But here Nora almost killed people.
Regardless of what you think of Iris, blaming her for your own failures is just wrong. Nora should completely understand that this Iris is not yet a mother, she hasn't lost Barry, she's not that person as she will be in the future. And Nora just cut her off, resulting in two people almost dying. You don't put your own feelings up front of everyone else's if lives are at stake.
Come to think of it, this makes Nora pretty identical to Iris (Season 4), and Felicity (Season 4).... Oh my god.
