I live in a country in South America, the only English speaking one. 70% of the East Indians are absolutely racist, 15% associate with the Blacks in churches and other capacity. However, their racism is just below the surface. Then, another 10% married to Blacks and have mixed children. They are not as racist. However, they do not approve of their children marrying Black men or Black women. They prefer their children to marry anyone else, even mixed person, not Black. The 5% a re not racist.

I never in my life thought about going to India for any reason. The women don’t like us, the men hate us, it’s hotter than most countries in Africa even, and crowded. Indian girl here. You guys, I read the comments and its so alarming and heartbreaking how racist Indians are towards the black community! I would say "Not all Indians are racist" but that is a waste coz even one incident is too much. I always thought Indians in Africa and Caribbean love and accept Africans as brothers but i was wrong there too! While i was studying in college, we had a few Nigerian students and we became friends with them and they even became fluent in Hindi and Marathi when they left to go back to Nigeria. That friendship contrasting with the fact that so many black people are disappointed by Indians is jarring. I hope that GenZ Indians can make a difference coz no one should experience racism, ever. Stay in a 4 or 5 star hotel when in India, no air bnb. Taj Mahal palace hotel or any Taj property is highly recommended in Mumbai, New Deli, etc. N I say this because 5 star hotels are affordable there (at least it was when I visited). Everything in general is affordable in India. South Africa is much more expensive destination. Don't eat street food or drink tap water because that's for locals cooking and local diet standards. Eat at good the best restaurants and drink bottled water. I would also suggest not wearing any outfit that doesn't look like normal for local society. This rule applies to all countries including those who come to the USA.

I spent 6 months in India/Nepal many years ago (1998-99). And I didnt get much attitude but there were moments that were frustrating. But overall it was an amazing experience. Indians are like anybody else. Some good, some assholes, and most somewhere in between. Would I go again? No. But I'm glad I did. You have to get out of the big cities and explore...
