Thanks for watching! Are you still going to use Mielle after all of the allegations?! Have you personally experienced any negative from using their products?

One of the biggest problems as naturals is the over use of products, especially oils. Start with a very small amount, only a dime size, really. Gradually increase the amount if you don't get the results you want or if your hair is very lengthy or thick. The itching and burning is usually related to impurities logged in the hair follicle that cause infection, killing the follicle and thus causing hair loss. And also, when it comes to manufactured products you usually get what you pay for. Simple, pure ingredients like raw shea, black soap, acv, herbs, pure oils and water, are mild and safest when used properly because they are free of added chemicals.

I agree! Everyone can’t use the same products the same way. I think a lot of people may have just been following what they saw someone else do and not listening to their own hair.
Thanks for the lesson about impurities/infection that ultimately causes the hair loss.

I think I bought some gel or custard of theirs like a decade ago, decided I didn't like how gritty it felt in my hair and never bothered to purchase again. Also, with the whole Linda Lynn situation, I've kind of steered clear of her brand. Plus there was this poor lady - Tamara's Hair Care - who experienced a tonne of damage from just one single washday with her products, so that's enough for me to not be interested in the brand at all. 🤔

Hey nice video. I like Mielle, been using them for about 5 years with no issues. I really dislike this brand cancel culture on social media. It happens so often and I feel like folks just jump on the ban wagon. Will a small percent of folks have an adverse affect just because of being human, yes. But the majority will be just fine. We’ve seen this trend before, remember Diva Curl, then Shea moisture, recently innersense and now Mielle. I’m so over it.

@@TKDGal76 I think it’s important to remember that people were experiencing severe hair loss with these brands as well. We must remember that our individual experiences are just that individual and not use anecdotal experiences to dismiss others. Personally I had an adverse experience with this brand after being a loyal customer for three years prior. I quietly stopped using the products no posts, I just did what worked for me. But I think siding with big brands without truly listening to what people are saying is harmful. If we want these brands to succeed we need to be able to bring their attention to these issues. Frankly no product should harm you from its use without an allergy if it is formulated well that is not normal.

@TKGal76 Thank you. Yes, some people are very quick to cancel people. Every product isn’t for everyone🤷🏾‍♀️

@adoxgraphy101 I’m sorry that you experienced adverse effects, but glad you stop using it after noticing. I think that may be one of the problems- it sounds like other people kept using the products even after experiencing negative things.
I agree that our personal experiences are just that, but the same goes for the people who had negative experiences. I don’t think it means the brand needs to be canceled, I think we just need to move away from the products that aren’t good for us.

She didn’t sell out. Most of these beauty suppliers companies know black hair products are money makers. I agree to keep up and stay viable she had no choice. Some dont get it. I haven’t had any problems with her products. It had helped my hair grow.

Yes! I’m happy for her. I especially love that she still wants to be very involved. I hope this little speed bump doesn’t really mess up things for the brand.

The truth is I don’t see what people like in mielle i personally like a straight forward brand not brand that do ingredient trends like mielle (basically almost all their products)

I think it’s cool for brands to have a variety of product lines to choose from. Honestly I don’t think they do trendy ingredients- I don’t remember seeing products with rosemary and mint back when mielle released theirs and now I’m seeing other brands who are incorporating rosemary. Some of the other lines I used are sweet pea, babassu mint, pomegranate and honey, mango and tulsi, Hawaiian ginger and rice water. I don’t think they are trendy ingredients. And if they are considered trendy now, i think it might be because of mielle.
