Sub'd for giving props to Sass. She didn't make it because her sound was about five or six years too late for the industry. She was fighting Seattle and Seattle won. For those of us fortunate enough to have lived in the northeast U.S. in the mid-90's, she was a force. (And I did see her, with a very young Taylor Hawkins on drums, live at the Paradise in Boston.)
I’ve seen her live a few times, as recently as about 4 or 5 yrs ago. Still has all of that voice and is a great performer. Tons of energy. She really should have been bigger.
Although it wasn't Sass on the record, she was in the video for The Box - Closer Together which is a fun song that I can't believe I haven't seen a reaction for.
I met her face to face in the 90's after a concert in New Brunswick, Canada. Me and a friend of mine nipped out to the back of the arena after the show for a joint, and out walks Sass. She shared one with us, we had a really good chat and she autographed our tickets, she was very down to earth. Very underrated talent and a good person.
Great story! I have met quite a few artists and have to say that many were pretty down to earth. Seal (in his early days), Gloria Estefan, Montell Jordan, even The Notorious BIG was very humble.
Saw her at a free gig at the Xposure bar in Birmingham promoting Rats when it came out in the UK. Stevie Salas on guitar as well. Been a fan ever since 🤘🏻
There's a great vid of Sass rocking out with the Foo Fighters doing Stay With Me. She spent 6 months in a studio with Van Halen. They were considering asking her to be the lead singer. That would have been wild. In 2001 she played Janis Joplin in an off-Broadway show. She did a duet with Joe Cocker on The Bodyguard soundtrack.
Her voice is well suited to rock, for sure. Kinda reminds me of Melissa Ehtherege (sp?)…. Energy, and then some! It’s hard to get airplay in the states, and I imagine it’s even more difficult as a woman. It’s still very much a business run by men, imo.

I had never heard of her. Got last minute tickets to Steve Perry and Sass was the opening act. I was SO blown away. Been a huge fan ever since
I had this album "Rats" when it dropped back in the 90s.
"Pissin' down" is even more of a showcase for her voice.
Sass Jordan, Alannah Myles, Amanda Marshall. Lee Aaron and Carol Pope of Rough Trade, are all good Canadian girls who kick ass when they rock!
Darby Mills from The Headpins too ❤❤❤
Can't believe the few (if any) reactions to Rough Trade. Carole Pope was a sight to see if not hear. All Touch is my fave
@@jethro1963I haven’t seen any yet. High School Confidential is my favourite 🇨🇦
Sass Jordan is awesome! It's a crime she isn't a huge global rock star.

Been a fan since Racine. Sass is awesome. ✌️❤️🎶🎵
Canada rocks it again! Great request and reaction. Thanks Harri and Louis 🌺✌️
Sass is fantastic.

Great question. Only thing I can think of because she was Canadian she didn't get enough US airplay.
Yup - also Cdn managers were not that good back in the day. Didn't have the contacts US ones did.
Make you a believer is another great one by her.
Great reaction! Have you tried her song Make You A Believer?

WOW!!!!
This is where Taylor Hocking got his start. IT was great to see her and the band live in the 90's.
Taylor Hawkins
@@6916dog forgot to proof read. 😔
I believe Sass Jordan is actually British but has lived in Canada since she was a young girl.
Born in Birmingham, England. Moved to Montreal, Canada at the age of three.

It absolutely is a crime against humanity that Sass Jordan never became a worldwide superstar in rock music.💯
Wasn't she amazing ❤❤❤
Harri- Please react to “Night” by Jackie Wilson. I know that you will be pleasantly surprised.
Luba always seems to get forgotten when talking about great Canadian female vocalists. Shame as she was great imo.
Definitely Luba should have some reaction videos. She did win top female Junos
YES>>> loved Luba. Another good Cdn vocalist.
Now if Canadians had this much energy... Canadians would've kicked out Trudeau a while ago .
Props to the band ..very tight !
