Every time i watch you and dang teddy I'm up on Facebook all night looking for a truck 😂
haha I still have that bug too.
Just installed today and they really make a difference - thanks!
So happy I came across this video. I just finished the upholstery and new foam on my c10 bench seat and let me tall you, my head is bouncing off the top of the roof. So I ordered a set and I can’t wait, I will no longer look like a nerd driving down the road.
Just got my set bolted to the seat. Can't wait to finish the rockers and get it installed.
Awesome!
I sent your vids to a few of my Chevy buddies
Hermen Lomas thank you!
Did mine today, what a difference for my belly , thanks for the video
Makes a huge difference!
Were you able to move it back further than the last stock bracket position?
Really enjoying your videos Whitlock Garage. I purchased the wrong seat brackets too. Advice for anyone looking to install these brackets. Take the seat out and measure the brackets per the FCF website. They have pics to show you where to measure. I was lazy and tried to measure the seat bracket still in the truck and sure enough, was wrong. I have to say the folks at FCF are great. Very responsive and swapped out my brackets without any hassle. Great folks to deal with.
Peren Ford thanks, Peren! Yeah, i wish I’d gone into a little more depth on that but didn’t have my factory brackets handy when i was filming the second day. And yup, Zac at FCF is a legit dude. Super easy to work with!
Thanks for this video! Just installed these on my 72. One of these best things I’ve done.
Great to hear!
Man, I wish I had a set of those 24 years ago..! 👍🏼
ADAM HENSON they definitely make a difference!
Collapse the column and you can push it in around 4 inches or so. One of the best mods I did to my C10.
I've heard that for awhile but never tried it.
Send me a picture please just to see
Where can I find more information about this? I want to do it.
Now I wanna see you change break pads while leaving the tire on 😂
That ain't gonna happen! haha
Thanks for sharing....these brackets may be in my future.
They're a life changer
yeah, this would be the first mod i would have to make, thats for sure!!!!!!! ha ha thanks for walking us through that proceedure!! those seat are heavy, im sure you wouldnt have minded a helping hand on round 2!!!!
No sir! But it's amazing what you can get done on your own. Thankfully my son helps out as much as possible.
Nice project, loving the Milwaukee tools!
Junkyard Tailgate thanks! Appreciate you tuning in.
You need more subscribers bro
Hermen Lomas thanks buddy! We’re working on it. We’re not quite 3 months old yet so i think we’re growing well, but will always take more! We’ll keep the content coming if y’all will keep talking us up!
while the seat was out it would make a good time getting that right door un locked because it would give you a little more room to work before install the seat
Yup, but i knew it was just stuck. We got it open no problem. Didn't have time to fool with door then.
My ‘65 didn’t have a seat, so I used a seat out of a Ford. Worked great and it was already lowered.
It's very difficult to get the bolts in from the top, so I put bolts in from below and used them as studs, then used washers and nuts. Just a helpful tip.
Slick68chev thanks, man! I’d actually already thought about doing that with the old seat brackets. Such a pain to get bolts back in from top with new carpet.
That’s a great idea. Should work with the buckets too huh.
I don't think they will but I've asked FCF about it. I don't have a 69-up bucket here to try but I'm positive they WILL NOT work on buddy buckets. They have a whole frame to themselves.
Yea was thinking you would need two sets. Definitely nice on the bench though
John Dudley that’s exactly what i thought and asked. I’ll let ya know!
Only thing I would add (I just put a pair in) Take a solder gun and melt your carpet around the bolt holes in the floor and run a tap thru them so at least you are not fighting those 2 elements. A ratcheting box end wrench is almost a must to get the bolts tight at the floor.
That's some great advice! Thanks for watching and giving us some feedback.
No problem we are all here to help and learn.
Wish I could find a bracket to move back my bench seat in my Squarebody Suburban. Need more legroom.
I hear that! I bet somebody will make them soon.
Your son is hilarious!!
He really is!
Is it ok if I just order the right brackets the first time? Or do I have to do it 3 times like you? Just wondering? LOL!! Cool video dude, I'm a Chevy truck guy & I subbed
haha! I only had to reorder once, for the record. :) Thanks for tuning in.
I want to order some of these. Where do you need to measure to get the right ones exactly?
Josh Roland if you click the link below they tell you how to, but I ended up measuring the height of the rear part of the original seat bracket. It’s much easier to do, naturally, with the seat out.
I need some for my 83 Chevy C10
Hi I’m a Chevy fan I have a 91 obs n a pair of s10 .. I always wonder y u can’t cut the hump out of the floor. I know it’s more work but u will b able to see way better Y didn’t u fix the door when u took the seat out plus u did show how to tilt the seat back some.
The purpose of the video was to show the audience how these brackets work. I was on a time crunch and didn't have time to fix the door. And the seat doesn't tilt rearward with these brackets. It simply has adjustability at the base of the seat so that you can move the seat more forward or rearward.
what about the older square body trucks???? 73-87...I want to put some newer silverado(2018) seats with jumpseat in my 85..but its gonna sit to high...HELP!!!
Thanks for making the video real school. Looks like you may lose your cameraman soon. I see a music video producer there! Hotlanta?
haha he's a mess!
Watching your video and another one regarding modification to the seat brackets, it looks like the originals were mounted backwards. Just an observation
Thanks for the feedback
Sooo, with these brackets you can no longer move the seat forward or back?
Did the bracket allow you to move the seat back further as well or just lower it? I’ve read that the bracket actually moves the seat forward a little. What are you’re thoughts? I need something that does both moves it down and back. Thanks 🤙🏼
Does that also work for 73-87 Chevy And gmcs
Yes
Hey man love the video ! And kick ass truck ! Hey I got a 69 I want the lowering brackets do you have any idea if I would need the long or short bracket etc ? Or can you tell me where I would need to measure from on the seat ! Thanks
Check out their website linked in the description. It shows you exactly how to measure.
It helps to remove the seat back first .
So it looks like you need to remove stock brackets and there is no more moving seat forward or backward with brackets correct?
Correct. But you gain 2” front to back and 1.5” down. It makes all the difference.
Columbia tn that where i live cool u said that i got a 67 chevy c10 u said ur in a c10 club how can i be part of that n do u live n Columbia tn or near by
So you lose the function of the slider, correct? Also, since you had the seat out, why not fix the locked door?
Yes, but you have adjustability built into the brackets. And I knew the door was simply stuck and didn't have time to mess with it.
Would this work on a 81-87 standard cab for the bench seat? Having trouble finding any decent seat rails. Help!
These are only for 67-72. I do not believe they’ll work on 73-87 seats.
why didnt you fix the door lock while you had the seat out
Wish they made em for my ‘76.
Would it work with your gas tank behind the seat?
I don’t think so
is your tank behind the seat?
No, it has been relocated to under the bed. These brackets still work well with an in-cab tank.
UNITED BY TRUCKS I’m 6’ 6” tall and 230 lbs, so I definitely want to do this on my 72 C10, but my tank is behind the seat. Will I be able to slide it back all the way like you did or should I relocate the tank first?
Do you have to have the gas tank relocated to gain the 1.5” back or no?
What site do I order these from
I tried that lowering 2 inches and it sucked...I put it back stock which was still the best stop..Im 6ft 200 pounds
My 69 C-10 has an 88-94 seat that needs lowered, but I don't know if anybody makes any kind of bracket for that.
They don't. I would suggest swapping back to a 67-72 seat and using these brackets. They're that good.
Do you lose the function to move the seat forward and backward with the handle?
Yes, but you don't need it bc the seating position is so nice
Hold up. This is a thing!! I need.
Yes sir! For 63-72 bench seats, it's a thing.
Do they make any brackets for the 80's benches?
Not at this time.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Thanks man! I just do the old fashion losing some mid section lol
I thought the squarebodies were bad. I don't think I could get my leg under there with the stock brackets.
67-72s are the worst!
So how do you like the seat being lower?
Love it. Every 67-72 we have will get them
Wish this could be done on a squarebody..
Me too! The squarebody syndicate column really makes a difference in squarebodies. 2" shorter and tilt.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS wish I could afford one
Ol teddy needs some rockers there but it has good bones i feel like I would’ve fixed the door issue before the seat but I guess it was a lil better entertainment
No doubt about it, but his turn is coming. And I still haven't fixed that dang door. haha
Are you still happy with your brackets?
Very much so!
wait, let me get this right.... you ordered the wrong ones 3x? I thought I was the only one that had that luck.....
Haha just once but yeah 🤦🏻♂️
the left bracket has to go right and vise versa. perty sure
I'm assuming you can't slide the seat back and forward with these brackets, therefore I'm not impressed.
Nope, but you get much more room and can lock it down where you want it. And easily move it by unbolting it if you need to.
I have never used my stock seat slider so it won’t be missed, great trade up
I see hernia surgery in your future, really should have a helper, I learned the hard way.
No need to subscribe to this juvenile outfit. I'll leave the 12 to 14 year olds to be dazzled by lowerd pickups and dancing sedans, I myself haven't been a juvenile since 1969, neither are my tastes
