Hello from the future! Here in 2023 in my city, we still can only dream of the safe biking solutions shown in this video. In fact, it was Portland that was implementing futuristic ideas. Biking in 2023 Portland is doubtless amazingly bike centric. Well done Portland!
What impress me so much about Portland are all the various types of efforts that are being put into effect across the board. There is the urban development boundary that prevents urban sprawl. Then there is all the vegetation that is designed to deal with pollution. Then there are the bicycle friendly streets. And of course there is the public transportation, and the efforts to encourage economic growth. Kudos Portland! No wonder it has grown by 65% over the past 30 years.
What a wonderful city. Intelligent planning. With them spending money on the right infrastructure. What a wonderful place to live. I take my cycle helmet off to all in Portland.
Still too vulnerable to cars. We have this, sharrows and speed bumps, in my neighborhood in Chicago and I'm still harassed by rude drivers and have had drivers try to run me over so they can beat me to the next stop sign. 🙄 Physical protection is needed.
How did Portlander's get so enthusiastic about cycling? And how come other towns don't live this way? Where I live in the San Francisco Bay Area we have a good amount of cyclists but nothing compared to Portland. It would be awesome if there were bike ways that circled the Bay Area.
Thank you Portland for showing us in Santa Monica the way. We are creating our first neighborhood greenway on Michigan Ave.

I'm so jealous. Why can't more cities and towns be bicycle friendly

I can't wait to visit this summer!!
Excellent video! Can't wait to move there, purchase a bike, and traverse that wonderful city!
there is a vintage volvo in every other shot of this video
Gee, we could have built environments like this almost everywhere. We just have to decide we want it.

Portland NE Going Hi everyone in Portland!!!!!!
I wish I could upvote this more that one time. Congratulations Portland!
I live in alaska but really love Portland.
A tip from a Dutch citizen ... narrow your ridiculously wide streets.

These roads look so peaceful. We have all the same traffic measures on my street in London but its still car central.
How can you have 3 children, one of them being in the fifth grade, and none of them know how to ride a bike? Oo
Welp I know where I'm moving
Now this is brilliant city planning. Bikes privileged over cars.
