That's great - I love car free, pedestrian and bike friendly spaces in cities - the more the better. Interesting that in the 1960s there was a lot of debate in Copenhagen about taking the car parking out of the squares .. "This is not Italy" etc. As is shown in the video, people are certainly using and enjoying the squares. Can a local say for how many months of the year is it like this? Would the squares be deserted for half the year due to cold and wet weather?
It is not Italy! In Copenhagen there is nothing to see and nothing to do! Danes do one thing only! Get drunk go home and sleep! In Italy we walk and admire one of the most beautiful country in the world!
@meyiyiyi55 Totally agree. Unbelievable how much space in our cities are danger zones due to fast moving vehicles weighing thousands of lbs or more. When you're in the metal box, only then do you have "safe" access to this space, though it can't be that safe since tens of thousands of people die each year from car accidents. Perhaps they should put labels at all crossings: "you are about to enter the danger zone-beware!" Then color all these zones on a map to show how much space it consist
If you want to visit a clean city you got to see Minsk the capital of Belarus! Copenhagen is dirty like any other European cities and it has a dirty ghetto called Christiania
