- Our trip to The Pacific Northwest where we went hiking and camping in Mt. Hood and Green River Canyon, explored Cape Lookout Trail, ate at the delicious local food carts, barbecued in the rain, fished for Dungeness Crab in Netarts Bay, and drank at the local wineries.
Wowe, as a native, I thank you! I loved it! Made me cry!

Portland is a fantastic place to live. I just moved to Portland from San Diego last year and while the rain is a little depressing, you get used to it and begin to love it. Portland is a city so much different from other cities. Its a whole new perception of life outside of the flow of regular society.
You have done an amazing job with this video. I'm a PDX local and when I see vids like this it gives me that euphoria effect of utter happiness. Like watching videos of loved ones and passed memories, except all this is experience-able EVERY DAY!! I think I owe you a debt of gratitude for this homage to the city I call my own. Thank you.
I'm moving to the Pacific Northwest very soon and this just makes me even happier and more excited.

I watched this video so many times 1-2 years ago, desperately waiting to make it out to Portland for the first time. Now, having been there, I came back just to see this video again to reflect on my trip. This is still one of my favorite videos of the Portland area. Thank you for sharing it!

I must visit here, but I love the greenery and scenery of all this. I'm deprived in south texas where it's dry and a flatland. I need elevation, both spiritually and physically. I'm convinced this is where I'll find it.

This is like some video montage they'd play on an episode of Grey's Anatomy. The girl in the video was a patient, and she was having a bad day and pissed off all of the nurses. But then the girl in the video would have died, and suddenly they'd all be upset and drinking, and droning on and on and on with truisms and pearls of wisdom.
It's seriously amazing how gorgeous and authentic this place is. I just moved from the east coast to Texas. I'm starting to think that Texas was just my halfway checkpoint to making it all the way to the west coast. Give me about 5 more years Portland, I'll be there soon. :)
five years is a long time. but gaze west as long as it takes; it's worth it.
I was in college at the time, but I'm back on the east coast now. I plan on traveling some time next year

Well, all of this is within 3.5 hours of Portland. It would take quite a few days to see it all, but worth the effort. This is a beautiful place if you love Nature in all its many forms!

This new rockin' “Anthem for Portland” was written by native Portlandian, John Massimilla
and singer/spouse, Mary Massimilla, of the band; 'RINGS OF ALCYONE'
The song not only “Begs a body to move” but every line in the song includes “Memorable
references” to Portland, Oregon; for which anyone who's spent time there, will instantly
recognize and effortlessly, be compelled to sing along with. “Keep Portland Weird” also has a
couple of “Quirky Hooks” which will put a happy face on any Listener.
The Release Event Performance will take place at Music Millennium in Portland, OR on
September 29, 2015 at 7:00PM; and the Record, on Vinyl(including Free download codes)

Returning to Portland after a twenty year absence; John saw the phrase, coined by Music
Millennium owner Terry Currier, everywhere; so he and the band's Singer, decided it needed an

chord progression which John had “doodled on guitar back in 1979”, along with a “Catchy
Bridge” and in several hours churned out “Keep Portland Weird.”
Both tracks were recorded at Portland's 'Jackpot Studios' and the “B” side of the record features
“How Much I Love You” which can be described as; an “Over-Driven Hard Rock Love Song
played in a 50's style” with “Dominate Reverberated Vocals and Blistering Guitar.”
The band; RINGS OF ALCYONE is rhythmically finished by Howard Nichols on Bass Guitar and
Keith Craig on Drums. The band represents the true “Portlandian Spirit” and they are
