Keep in mind that this is still a preproduction camera of the Nikon Z9.
Why is it so noisy?? What was your iso? Everything thats black looks red!
What are you talking about? Do you have your monitor cranked up weird or something?
@@hautehussey He does not. I my color grading studio that is properlly calibrated, I am seeing a lot of magent as well.
Skin tones are really good in my opinion.

thank you - comparatively useful as it matches up with what Im seeing on day 4 with my Z9. It’s impressive video features but Im also coming at it from a fairly new filming standpoint.
one year later, what is your experience with the Z9? I am definitely interested in the Z8 for video
Great review once again. If you need to choose a camera to go with the Red Komodo, will you choose Z9 or R5 C (or the future R1)? I am shooting mostly manual focus glasses. Cheers.
This is NOT a Nikon Z9 video but something else, I can tell from the colours and the quality, also even if UA-cam compressed it, it still would not look like that. Preproduction or not looks very similar to the canon R3 version.

4k 120 fps N-LOG internally??
Das war nicht die LUT für die Z9, sondern die Z6/Z7, richtig?
It seems that the 4K 120 fps performance is not very good, there is too much noise, and the focus is average, but other than that, the Z9 performance is great, the color is good,
I’m not too fond of how green the footage is.
Is DX mode available while shooting in 8k mode?
With the Z9 Nikon has apparently chosen to sacrifice ISO performance and Dynamic Range in the sake of speed. Sony could have done the same but choose a more balanced approach. Canon went back to the drawing board with the Eos R3, where they managed to increase speed, dynamic range and ISO performance. Take a look on my channel where I posted a video stepping through the ISO range, from 3200 up to 25,000. Pay particular attention to 10,000 ISO… it looks essentially the same as 800 ISO.
Not sure how you can say that. More than enough dynamic range for the entirety of this video. I guess people want you to jack up the shadows and crank down the whites in order to prove it has the dynamic range these days.
And I think manufacturers are overinflating their ISO numbers for video now. We’re going to have to compare the actual exposure settings to see if the cameras are compared on the same ground.

Only watched this on my phone - can't say I'm to impressed with the footage from the Z9.
I do not know what you did in the first half of the video, but the footage looks like it was done with gel smeared all over the lens. Not sharp and the colours look awful. I expect the Z 9 can do a lot better than this.
you can read it in the left bottem of the Video also in the discription. Keep in mind this is a video of internal videorecording and not of postproduktion !
@@rcbox9820 I really want to buy the Z9, but if this is the quality it can produce then I would rather not. My A7siii destroys this in video quality, probably even my Z7.

1:12 definitely not the king (or queen) of slow motion
responding to myself, the slow motion is smooth and the focus good, but the image is soft, looks like it is not even 4K

Check their website for the BTS shots. UA-cam doesn’t let me post the link. But it clearly shows the Z9 on a tripod filming this video. It’s on the second page. Just search their site for Nikon Z9.

@@igorshmel7939 Зная о высоком качестве отзывов о SlashCam, я осмелюсь предположить, что у камеры есть какое-то ограничение.
