I've made a very similar build that I still run to this day. However, for my primary I use the M1000 with supercooling chamber to really lean into the single target damage. Pretty much the rest of my kit is the same. Lastly, I think a great name to the build you made would be "Jack of AI trades"
This has almost been my primary scout build for a little over a year now probably, except I run explosive chemical bolts instead. Those things are literally just gunner sticky grenades except they do more damage, and the stun chance on the explosion means that anything that doesn't die is an easy 1 tap from your GK2. Getting a killing shot with the explosive bolt on a bug in the front of swarm has it take just long enough that it explodes in the middle of the group it was just ahead of, and if the shot doesn't kill, the bodkins mean that you can fire into the crowd with it and still have a good chance of hitting the marked bug, causing the explosion. Obviously they're less effective than pheromones at dealing with larger targets, but that's what the GK2 is there for of course, so I think it still works out fine
Rock'n Stone, miners! Always glad to see your videos, brother. But here are my 5 cents about this build. Unless you go on a solo-run the scout is in general more usefull if he does NOT waste potential on multi-target damage. Scout excells in single target damage, mobility and therefor is the best dwarf to take out high priority threats as soon as possible. The GK 2 Loudout showcased in this videos does that perfectly!! However, the Bodkin Points don't. What they do however, is slowing down reload, decreases your burst potention AND switching time between normal and special bolts and therefor make the boltsharks utillity more clunky to use. In fact in most games, even having no overclock on your crossbow will be more helpfull then bodkin points. I can see it's a flashy and fun overclock and even has it's place for a multi-target option for when you are solo, but if there is any of the 3 other classes in your team you can be sure their multi-target options will be much better in regard of dealing with grunts and/or swarmers even compared to the bodkin points and therefor making the overclock obsolete. Don't let me spoil your fun with the overclock, though. Just know you could probably be more helpfull for your team with a secondary weapon that gives better utillity and/or single target burst with an other distance specialization then your primary.
Yeah, for pure wave clearing efficiency. I would recommend firebolt more. Shoot one with phero bolt and let firespread take care of an entire group. It's also a reliable way to take care of swarmer for scout, shoot bolt on the ground and dance around a little bit. But with a decent team I rather pick mobility option like s.powder to quickly reach objective/resource/HVTs and let other classes do their job.
I can understand your reasoning, but I've found bodkins very useful all the way up till haz5amm. As a scout you are not fighting swarms. You are picking off important targets and doing objectives/nitra. I find the bursty 'delete 3 bugs button' handy for so many situations. Bugs tend to come from all angles while you work objectives so dispatching a surprise slasher and his buddies that suddenly spring around a corner has great value. The slower reload is annoying yes, but the high value but limited supply of pheromones makes it less of an issue to me.
Very cool! I’m only lvl 15 with the scout so I don’t have everything unlocked but I was struggling with swarms a lot. Seems like a great build for solo players!
This loadout is a ton of fun! Been using it for the last few days while trying to get my scout ranked up. Bodkin Points is definitely underwhelming compared to Fire Bolts (or Cryo Bolts; don’t have the OC yet), but I was surprised at how well this setup performed on Haz5. Took extra damage in T2 as opposed to extra ammo, and it can definitely work. I was surprised at the ammo efficiency because sometimes the bolt will get stuck in terrain after killing a glyphid and be *retrievable.* I think increasing the number of ricochets from 3 to 4 or dare I say 5 would be a good buff. For the time being? It’s a 10 in fun.
That's "Bodkin", not "Broadkin" on the crossbow overclock. Bodkin arrow tips are basically just a thin point, made for penetrating armour, as opposed to broad head, which are the more commonly depicted triangular arrow heads, used to help keep the arrow embedded in flesh, and to do additional damage around the impact point as the target moves around.
Cheers to the other scouts that use Hover Boots. We know with the right set-up we can grapple to an impossible area, Hover, hack a spot out of the rock, and grapple into said spot and get that crazy difficult resource with or without an Engineer. Great build, I do it with the m1000.
try drak 25 overtuned particle accelerator 12232 and boomstick double barrel 12232, its high single target and croud build but you have to be up close to enemies play with aggressively and bad ammo but its a really fun build also use pheremone grenades when overwhelmed because once the bugs group up you can whipe em all with boomstick i always rack up at least 100 kills each round solo and non solo
Bodkin Point is probably the last thing I would pick for Scout as a tool for CC/AoE. Killing 2 - 3 per shot (if that, because you don't have guaranteed one-shots even on grunts with this) barely qualifies as CC/AoE, specially with a lower reload speed. If you insist on taking the crossbow, you are infinitely better off picking pheromone bolts + Fire/Ice bolts. Shoot a pretorian with pheromone, stick it with two bolts and watch a whole crowd burst into flames / get frozen by themselves while you enjoy some time of peaceful mode.
Congratulations, you know the meta! Bodkin will do fine right up until modded difficulties at which point you have to start min maxing everything and even AI stab engine falls off.
Ai stability core is so good, the downsides don't matter at all, its easy to hit weakpoints with it and you can have all the firerate upgrades since the accuracy upgrades don't matter
bodkin point is absolutely satisfying overclock to use, but its a shame it's so easily outperformed by fire bolt and cryo bolt. Great overclock, i'm glad you're having fun with it and you should, but unless you're going in a solo haz 4 mission i can't really recommend it as much. It lacks the capacity to kill more then normal grunts. Which isn't suuper ammo efficient. but i played with it a bunch myself and had a blast.
This is basically what I use, except I take Stun on the rifle to create more breathing room, and use Specialist to go all in on Pheromone Bolts so that I never have to even fight a crowd in the first place
My carry scout build uses AI stability GK with max ammo double barrel for wave clear. I can single handedly clear waves as strong as a driller and focus single targets with GK
@qbcomicaddict2590 I only play haz 5+ all maxed except player vulnerability, everything else is too easy. With that build I consistently get higher damage counts than some gunners/engis, tho no one should beat engi damage if the engi is competent lmao
@@unconscious5630you need better teammates lmao, as engi I consistently get probably more than twice the amount of dmg and kills as anyone else, haven't been out fragged in probs a year now lol
@@jackalsniper892 yep, as I said a good engi will out damage everyone. I play public lobbies, so I play with a lot of mediocre players and thats why I somehow top damage as scout
@@theMoonWalker87 skill issue my ass. ANY build can work on any difficulty, that doesn't mean it should be recommended. If you win with this on haz5+, you won despite the build not because of it.
I would highly recommend pretty much this same build except I like to run flame arrows with electric special bolts for more single target. Toss 2 flame bolts in front of a horde with slow grenades and they instantly light on fire. Good against swarmers and grunts then you have the weakpoints on primary. It’s hands down my fave build. Keeps up with most of the classes in kills it’s nuts.
My problem with ai stability is thermal exhaust feedback does basically the same thing except so much better. Also any scout not running spowder just can’t play as fast fun or efficient. Shooting yourself across the map holding an egg or gem is to valuable imo.
The problem with this comment is that every class has the best OC and build. Good thing about DRG is that until you get into the higher modded difficulties it is simply not difficult enough to always have to run the best of the best. Have fun, challenge yourself and try builds like these.

Thanks for your ideas. For the science of DRG : Rock 'n' Stone !
I would personally take 13111 fire bolts or 123X3 double barrel + phero grenades for crowd control

What level 2 Pickaxe mod would you recommend? I am partial to Shockwave in that slot.

It's bod-kin not brod-kin.
I think he was mixing broad head and bodkin together, seeing as their both real types of arrowheads
