People who are not behaving at the movies are just the worst: last week I went to a showing of the greatest showman with my sister (who absolutely adores this film) and people were singing along with the songs (it was a very small place with few people so even one person singing off pitch was annoying). My sister got annoyed and said it would be much appreciated if they could stop singing. After the movie ended the girl behind us got angry and told my sister to just keep her mouth shut next time. My sister was so taken aback by this rude reply she started crying a few minutes after, I felt so bad for her that her only chance for seeing her favourite film in theatre was now ruined by a random stranger who could not behave in a movie theatre. So I totally understand you're not that eager to talk to complete strangers in the movie theatre to tell them to behave - but I;m glad it turned out okay and you still had a great time at the movie!
When my friends and I went to see The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, some girl next to us started singing The Hanging Tree too 😭😭 we were so confused 😅😅
