So a lot of the people in the comments asking why people are gathering around him. It's because it's a rare sight, that's all. It's not everyday you see a foreigner walking around; it's not a foreiner-enrichrd place like Japan or China. Foreigners do come to visit places like Cox's Bazar, Srimongol and country sides in Bangladesh, but not a lot of foreiners explore Dhaka. Because it's the capital, there are only people, horns and traffic. To most people looking to visit a country, that's overwhelming. But Trevor walked around enthusiastically trying our food, which is amusing to our people. That is why they gather and stare, because it's a rare sight. Nothing but innocent curiosity.

waiting to visit Bangladesh as soon as possible as Bangladesh is the birth place of my grandfather and I feel connected to them as I m not from Kolkata but from Assam , India and we speak the same language .. the food looks tempting and seriously I m drooling for your food ...
Do we speak Bengali? Is bengali language mother language of sylhet or Assam people? Come'on sis! Sylhety/osshomi language is Sylhet and Assam's first language!!! Whatever,we sylhotis are different...Welcome to Sylhet😁😁
Some people are confusing mama with uncle...This is true that mama means uncle but in dhakayiya slang mama is a friendly way of addressing someone.....
@@MathhackAssam Bhai is brother. But it's not uncommon to call older shopkeepers mama jokingly endearingly. Mama/mamoo is uncle btw. Dada is grandfather
But it's also true that now a days we use this as a common addressing. We call friends, rickshaw pullers, shopkeepers mama too. Like mama tui to fataya lekhapora kortesos. Though he's not totally right from a literal meaning but he's not totally wrong too. As we are now using the word in a broader perspective.
The word "mama" doesn't mean "brother". It has become a trend in Bangladesh for the last 10/15 years. "Mama" is used to designate your maternal uncle by the way.

Love from Pakistan to all the good people out there in Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Some people are confusing mama with uncle...This is true that mama means uncle but in dhakayiya slang mama is a friendly way of addressing someone.....
*Thanks Trevor for coming In our Beautiful Country It's a great honor for us, here Mama means Uncle not Brother :) .*
Haha. He has been misguided.dada means brother is it?
Here we call our grandfather "Dada", Though Some people call their elder brother as "Dada bhai" too. it's confusing though
@@MathhackAssam it will be "Bhai or Bhaiya for brother"
@@MathhackAssam Bhai is brother. But it's not uncommon to call older shopkeepers mama jokingly endearingly. Mama/mamoo is uncle btw. Dada is grandfather
But it's also true that now a days we use this as a common addressing. We call friends, rickshaw pullers, shopkeepers mama too. Like mama tui to fataya lekhapora kortesos. Though he's not totally right from a literal meaning but he's not totally wrong too. As we are now using the word in a broader perspective.
eats 30 dishes, totally price 12 dollars. I know where I'm going next.

Where?
@@irrfan3300 Mostly everywhere in Bangladesh .

@@danbi4464 that item is not in the video
In Old Dhaka ?? Only 25 $ 🤩🤩🤩
The word "mama" doesn't mean "brother".
It has become a trend in Bangladesh for the last 10/15 years.
"Mama" is used to designate your maternal uncle by the way.
Good to know, so what is the best thing to say when approaching vendors?
@@mundob4926 you can say "Vai" (which means brother) to young and mid-age people, and "chacha" or "uncle" to elders.
Lol I was looking for this specific comment 😂😂
Thank God someone pointed out that মামা thing 😂😂
Mama also means same in Tamil
Yes...in our country Mama is casual call...like sometime we call mama to our friend for as regular language just for fun...
