Thanks for this vid. I'm a new player and I literally didn't know how you're even supposed to capture objectives with CP Grey Knights when you've only got two units (maybe 3 if you're running the librarian solo) and can't really move around once you're engaged in close combat.
Quality stuff, good to see some Combat Patrol (even if the balance in the boxes is totally wonk) as probably this is one of the first ways someone who wants to play 2000pts would play 40k.
BOW BEFORE THE POWER OF JULNIE! Thanks so much for having us on Mikey! Was an absolute pleasure and such a good laugh! Plus you're even more handsome in person and you have nicer hair!
@@HellstormWargaming Look up CP rule book pg no.6. SECURING OBJECTIVE MARKERS In Combat Patrol missions, at the end of each Command phase, if the player whose turn it is controls an objective marker and one or more Battleline units from their army (excluding Battle-shocked units) are within range of that objective marker, then that objective marker is said to be secured by that player. While an objective marker is secured by a player, it remains under the control of that player, even if they have no models within range of it. An objective marker ceases to be secured if their opponent controls it at the end of any subsequent Command phase.

@@HellstormWargaming nope, in combat patrol ALL battle line units have sticky. That is one of the few rules that the combat patrol manual overrides (page 6 combat patrol manual): "In Combat Patrol missions, at the end of each Command phase, if the player whose turn it is controls an objective marker and one or more Battleline units from their army (excluding Battle-shocked units) are within range of that objective marker, then that objective marker is said to be secured by that player. I thought when you make a charge, if you can, a model MUST get into base contact and therefor can't hold some models back to touch objectives unless that is as far as they can move. I've seen it a ton in batraps and curious if I read that wrong.

Goes to show how fun combat patrol can be

It felt a bit wonky but clearly the outcome proves it’s totally balanced!

Beautiful armies, beautiful table set up, beautiful host and beautiful opponents x
Awesome video. Just getting into Warhammer and looking at grey knights CP!
My hovercraft is full of eels
"Well piss and poo" i will be using phrase during my next game when things go horribly wrong.....( i also am a fellow grey knight player 🛡)
Strike teams in CP are also battleline unit, so the objectives they captured are sticky.
Sticky objectives isn't linked to battleline. They only have that rule in Larger games of 40k, not Combat Patrol :)

Awesome to watch as a new player.
I love those little red bottle cap clips under one of those units of necrons. Where are they from?

Yes, you're correct:
"Any model... must move into base-to-base contact with an enemy model if possible."
played 3 games of combat patrol at WW last night great fun
I honestly think its great. NIce change of pace. If i was EXCLUSIVELY playing combat patrol then i imagine id get burnt out. but its fun
