The exclusion of the terminators, though it makes my heart weigh heavy with grief, was the right choice.
Because Paladins are also cool.
You mentioned making a chaplain, grand master, brother captain or apothecary with the extra bodies. I would like to see a Chaplain or Brother Captain! It would be fun to see a 500 point battle.

I've recently Grey Knight-ified a Prmaris Chaplain, I put a warding Stave on there for now but feel like it doesnt meet the requirement of a Crozius so may change it.
Anybody know what I need to order to kit bash on some 😇 halos for my Grey's?

Thank you SOOO much for making this video! For someone like me who is (still) entry level in the hobby without any real contacts within the community or deep lore knowledge, all the tips and tricks are great - especially noting which pieces are supposed to go with specific models, such as the more detailed shoulders on the Justicar or the difference between the paladin and terminator ecranches.
As an overworked young parent with very little hobby time and a deep anxiety over meeting new people, your "come hang out with me" style videos really let me have a taste of interaction with the community, so I really appreciate them.

I'd love to see a 500 pt game! Still haven't played my first game yet but I built a 500pt list with a similar setup with a Libby, 2x4 Stikes, and a NDK. 😁🤘

I recently bought this box so it's good to see it being discussed. It's a shame you didn't make one with a halberd, I'm trying to make one and it's a real pain to get the arms and hands to align
I feel your pain. Blue tack is your friend.
Use plastic glue, and don't be afraid to tear the arms off if the position is wrong!
I wouldn’t mind a painting video of this army and seeing them in action as well.
Interesting way of putting the books on the paladins. I'd stop putting them on after re-fixing them every time I move

Doh, I doubt I put the skull forehead helm on my justiciars. This is the video I needed. Now if you made individual videos about each unit and their options. I am building squads of five with all the different weapons. Painting experience has been all I got and enjoying but I keep collecting knowledge to play eventually.
I have the very same issue with my army painter clippers, they are all so dented by now XD

I'm in the middle of my building of my Combat Patrol box of Grey Knights. I lost my booklet. Did not know about the Paladin's heads. Almost made the mistake of putting the terminator heads on!! Could u put out a quick video of how to adjust and fix the legs of the dreadknight, please! I magnetized the first dreadknight I built so I can swap out all the different weapon configurations. Looking to try and magnetize some of the paladin's stuff too. Haven't quite decided what parts and how yet though. I definitely would also be interested in how to build an apothecary and a chaplain. I like the word Escutcheon for the shields, as it denotes a heraldic focal point rather than an actual piece of defensive gear. The Ecranche is the type of shield with the cut-out corner to hold a Lance, also a good word. Some of the little shields in the bits would have a different name based on their shape. I'm not trying to be annoying, I just wanted to share. I enjoy your videos, and have a combat patrol waiting for me to remove the plastic. I've been slowly adding plastic Grey Knights to my army lately because all of my metal guys are getting tired after so many years of kicking demon butts.
Hey Stefan, love this video. Really helps get the wheels turning for my army. A bit of a bummer considering the updated points cost. I'd like to see an updated video for the combat patrol box. I'm really considering picking up two of them and then supplementing with another box of termies and/or strikes. Also a couple characters and one more Dreadknight.
I would like to see exactly what can be done with the combat patrol tho because that'll be the core of my army. Cheers!!

I got into Grey Knights as my first 40k army (partly because of your videos) and it never actually occurred to me that the Combat Patrol wasn't Combat Patrol legal lol
Also interesting use of all swords
I like to use an equal mix of swords and halberds because I find the halberd's extra strength is better for T3/T5 infantry like Tau, Eldar, and Orks, while the sword's extra AP is better for killing T4 infantry, like Heretics
I also got into Grey Knights because of his videos.

Thanks! A very simple conversion. Just slapped a bunch of pieces from the Custodes kit and the Brotherhood Terminator kit together.

If you build it as a Librarian, Dreadknight, Strike Squad, and 3 Paladins, you can give the dreadknight a heavy psycannon and hit 500 points.
That's precisely what I did!
17:35 I legit had to double take and I looked it up and you where right! I wish the instructions explain these sorts things better! Had to check my own models thankfully I don’t own many terminators and I found both a paladin and a regular terminator with opposing heads! Gonna have to fix that! Also I did use a curved paladin helmet on a brother captain model I kit asked with the deathwatch terminator captain model but I guess I can right that off as I wanted it to look like the armor was less angular.
Would love to see a 500pt game with them! Long battle reports can be arduous to consume haha. Also agree 1000% on the terminator sprue, honestly so great! I've used it for customizing dreadknights and even a couple contemptor dreadnaught models I proxy as venerable or regular dreadnaughts (the contemptor models are so much nicer!). Personally I'd run a Brother captain with soul glaive and first to the fray as HQ mostly because its more fun then a librarian 😆 and with 500pt game it wont take long to get into combat!
True! Honestly, I much prefer the Brother-Captain to the Librarian, with his much heavier hitting potential. It just seemed a shame to not use the Librarian kit for this video.
A much easier 500 point list with that box would use everything except the librarian.

I'd be interested in seeing a 500 point game. Most of the games I play are 1000 points with the occasional 1500 points.
I thought about this exact list! Ultimately I wanted to use at least one of every model in the box, because I know everyone is excited about different things in there. So leaving the foreground model (the Librarian) out just felt like a shame.
I was looking at getting one of these kits but ended up getting the Space Marine half of a Leviathan box. Still think I might revisit these as my second army. Gotta admit, Im not a fan of the Dreadknights, as I think the Dreadnoughts are much cooler. Don't know if they're better or worse, but the Dreadknights just look silly to me.
I'd love to see a version of "how yo build your first Combat Patrol box, towards a 2k army"! How would you build this box, thinking about long term use? As such, actual meta would not the biggest concern, would it? Loved the video, BTW!
Just started the warhammer scene and chose grey knights. These videos are such a help. Wondering though why you build the entire model before painting. Does it not make it a lot harder when the weapons seem to sit across the chest snug? Trying to piece together the weapons and arms is a disaster 😅

Maybe get a couple of the other people you have on the channel to do their own 500 point CP boxes and then turn it into an escalation league showing updates and such.

Another awesome video. Currently building my all terminator force right now. Do you have a standard list you use posted anywhere? I picked up a landraider to transport my big boys but really wondering if I could just load up with more termies and march up the front and teleport some in
I don't, but I'd be happy to share it. I basically load up on four squads of Termies, always, and then fill in the rest with whatever sounds fun.
Any time I receive strike for my birthday or Christmas or whatever I turn them into purgators for that sweet sweet three heavy weapon squad

This video is amazing I just bougth this gw box and started new grey knigths army.I was thinking about magnetize dreadknigth for easy transportation and different weapon opntions. Any recommendation about that? Thanks!!
I think that's wise! Definitely magnetize the melee weapons. The guns almost don't need to be magnetized -- you'll see when you assemble them that they sort of just clip on and off. But a single magnet on each arm to help them stay put would be good!
Oh I have a funny story so I ordered some paint and a normal terminator squad and glue. So I got the box something was off the paint and kit was missing but the glue was in the box I got not 1 not 2 but 10 glue.

I don't think so. I mean, yes, but it would require more technical skill and precision instruments than I have.

Well the box now contains 500 points as long as you don't out weapons on your dreadknight. Since most upgrades are free

Watching this just after the Ark of Omens points update. Any thoughts on how your list would change with these updates?
I do gotta say, love your vids, but don't sleep on falchions. They work well with Hammerhand. More attacks and rerolling wounds, they become blenders. Good at clearing chaff.
Problem is most armies I face have AOC, so the AP-2 just doesn’t cut it. That and the reduced damage just make them a trade down, in my opinion.
@@onelastblade3913 Ya, hopefully the next dataslate does away with AoC, causing more problems as a band-aid fix than it's helping. Keep up the nice work man.
Not an expert but I also think they work better on demons. With demon saves ap just doesn't matter.

I used a lot! Primarily he was one of the Space Marine Heroes terminators.
