This is the best explanation of 40k ive ever seen for real, with a few models and two guys having a laugh and casually saying what theyre doing, plus the immersive camera angles, is so much better than all the super long ultra high production value 10th edition guides out there, i was genuinely engaged with this game

I like how short/concise this video is. I don't have time to watch people yakking away instead of playing. These guys just get on with playing with a good pace but at the same time it's super relaxed and down to earth.
The shot of just the doom stalkers legs when you first mention was fantastic. 10/10 would laugh again
that camera angle of the terminator captain and terminator squad from behind and below looking up at the doomstalker is so fucking sick.
Fantastic batrep! As always from you guys, pretty much my favorite style on all of UA-cam.
Small mistakes: You cannot fire the Doomstalker's Doomsday Blaster into melee because it is a Blast weapon. You would have been able to fire it into the Infernus marines, but Blast weapons can never be fired into combat, even by vehicles/monsters. Also, the rules for piling in and consolidating in the fight phase have changed slightly, so your Skorpekh Destroyers wouldn't have been able to move after fighting.
Not a big deal (def doesn't change the outcome), and it's your first game, just want to let you know for future.😁
I'm always a fan of your paintjobs, but WOW did those Dark Angels genuinely amaze me, fantastic job! Half-BatRep, Half-Showcase.
Really loved the movement editing. The moving one model and then jump cutting to the rest of the unit already moved is such a visually intuitive way to show the movement.
I wish all 40k bat reps did it that way.
Camera angles were also phenomenal as always. Y'all make it look really cinematic.
Just a small correction I noticed: Weapons with "Blast" cannot be used against a target in engagement range. That is all ^_^

Just came across your channel and I like the format you guys have, it's up close it's clear what strategy each person is trying to make and you get to see the details of the miniatures on the table. I just started playing in 9th edition, but I haven't been able to play much and with 10th edition out now I'm playing catch up, but my necrons will hopefully be able to learn the changes and adapt to start wreaking havoc soon. The Octavius force really should have been the Dreadnought, the Captain, the unit of Terminators, and one Infernus Squad. Having no armor penetration in the intended team is really lame. I played a mirror match with them, and it was painful, like watching two tanks shooting derringers at each other.

When does that necron combat patrol come out? And if you had to choose, would you pick that or the dark angel combat patrol box?
I think they need to give another unit to the space marine combat patrol. I played against it for the first time this week with my World Eaters and thought my friend was missing some models when he put down 12 models against my 31. I lost some Berzerkers getting to the Infernus, but as soon as we reached melee, they died very fast. My leader also killed his solo terminator character in one combat, and the deep strike terminators couldn't take out the Jakhals in 2 rounds of shooting, letting the Berzerkers and the leader come back to wipe them out, tabling him on the first round of turn 4. They need probably 1 more unit to use, just not another squad of infernus.
Cool batrep, really liked it! Do more combat patrol reports or some 10th edition boarding actions :D

The doomstalker wouldn't have been allowed to shoot the Terminators with its Blast weapon. Apart from that great video!

This has certainly already been pointed out but the Doomstalker's Doomstay blaster has the BLAST keyword and therefore cannot be fired into close combat despite the Big Guns Never Tire rule.

Yeah. Unfortunately (for Vic), Oath only allows you to reroll hits in Combat Patrol.

So, it seemed ridiculously unbalanced. Other than sites that seem to be all about overhyped acting, with silly British accents, and being in love with everything that happens.... I really haven’t seen much positive about the Combat Patrol format. Even if they tone down the tankieness of monsters and vehicles in Combat Patrol vs standard 40k, you probably need dedicated anti-tank weapons to really stand a chance. Sure, you can devote your whole force to killing the big guy, but in the meantime, the rest of the opponent’s force is off scot free.
Man a 40k match that barely lasts 18 min...combat patrol seems kinda meh. The presentation is top notch though.

Excellent bat report, great format. 15ish minutes is do-able. More channels need to consider this, I am not spending my day watching someones 2+hr report. thx.
