Nuno B. Not only does he not age but now the late great EVH is no longer with us he has to be the best out there. A brilliant band that should of been huge
Indeed! Pat is a monster on the bass! His technique, and backing vocal ability along with his stage presence reminds me a lot of Michael Anthony, and we all know who he is lol
when he toured with his band Mourning Widows in Australia in 2004, he was the vocal, rythm, lead guitar and band performed quite a few classic Extreme songs, and the whole show was amazing
Seriously now? How on earth this can sound so fresh and with even more energy than the original? (and I am the guy who loves the original..) Kevin and Nuno on fucking FIRE!
Waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy under rated band.....Gary is a superb front man......Nuno just plain kills it.........👍👍👍👍been a fan over 30yrs......let’s “get the funk out!”
damn they are so good live. nuno guitar playing is amazing and gary is one of the best frontmen ever. bass player still got it . always love extreme. how did they come up with such kickass songs . possibly one of the best bands ever
Extreme still sounds and looks like 20 years ago. Gary Cherone´s voice it´s in a incredible form not to mention the rest of the band....Pat´s bass and Nuno´s playing seems to get better with age.I can´t understand why they not release a fuckin new album yet! such a waste!
Man not heard this for years. I gotta say they sound freaking awesome!!!!! Reminds me of school summer holidays. Cliff jumping camping getto blaster and 2 litres of cider. Haha great times.
You can count on one hand the amount of lead singers from this era that still have this amount of range, just spot on. Oh and Nuno, definitely on my top 5 and has been for years.
I think we sometimes forget the level of talent the Hair Bands presented in droves. I suppose it was a breath of fresh air for Gunge to take over when it did but only a few of those (Grunge) talents remain enjoyable for me (just persoanlly, not an argument). If we take away the cheesy music that was made there's a ton of really great sounding stuff. Glad I was a teen in the 80's to live it but our kids will never know. So, support your local rock bands and here's to the next generation!
I agree, just a shame that despite the abundance of talent, the late 80s became a clone fest where literally every band sounded the same tryna replicate the tried and tested formula for success. Only Winger and Extreme stand out to me as the true really unique hair bands of post 1987 (excluding guns cos they’re nowhere near a hair band)
Ok I know I'm late but HOLY SH!T!!!! WOW everything is perfect they sound so good! When this was new my dad had the album I was obsessed with it. It opened the gate to rock and metal I own so much to Extreme. To love such great music and be part of the best fans in the world 🤟🤟
Been waiting a year and a half to see this again! Traveled to Vegas to be a part of this. Thanks so much for sharing this with us a little ahead of the DVD. Terrific!
Always loved Extreme. Shame that their best tunes were't released as singles. Instead we were bombarded with Hole Hearted and More Than Words. Neither song really showcased the full talent of this band.
They didn't showcase the full talent of the band BUT they showed a level of diversity that they could create while mixing genres of metal, funk, acoustic, jazz, pop and hard rock. Nuno is a legit guitar god based upon all of the songs that he wrote and produced. That's not a slight to the rest of the band but, let's be real, if there was no Nuno, there would have been no Extreme. The fact that their peers loved them should say enough. There's a video on UA-cam somewhere and Nuno is playing a medley of the riffs and soloes and you can actually see Zakk Wylde on the edge of the stage and then coming on to the stage to film Nuno's playing on his cell phone. If ZW rolls like that for anybody, you know that whoever it is is straight legit.
@@waltfarozic3187 There's a video of frigging BRIAN MAY geeking out on the solo of "Get The Funk Out". If that didn't blow Nuno's mind nothing ever will. I'd be smiling to my dying day if that would have happened to me. No chance, but I would! That's the level these guys are at. Rest of the band matches. Pat doubles some of Nuno's solo's. I don't know what more you could ask.
Such an underrated band. Fucking shame they don't get the notoriety they deserve. You will not find a better guitarist than Nuno. I don't give a fuck what anyone says.
That is a stunningly breathtaking, live performance. Music really can't get any better. Nuno is among the best 5 to 10 rock guitarists of all time. I'm floored & utterly pleased. Sooo good; sooo great. Richard :)
I had no idea who Nuno Bettencourt was until I started playing guitar. Now I am seriously considering buying a Washburn guitar. What an amazing talent!
Nuno is an extraordinary guitar player. I reckon he needs a bit more volume on this so we can really hear that jam. Angus Young always gets his SG heard clear and loud.
Cherone's misadventure with VH was a mistake, but here he seems to be in his element and firing on all cylinders with his best foil, Nuno, who brings out the best in him.
incredible artists right here. Also, that drumkit has huge toms and floor toms which gives a better overall sound production but required more work, he's a great drummer.
I'm sorry I did not mean to hurt that small ego of yours Mike. Allow me to explain briefly. Pitch is a way of talking about how “high” or “low” a sound is. When you hit a big drum, it makes a lower pitch than a smaller drum might which is why it's important to give it a stronger hit. You can get away with this by using different drum sticks to which some come with coated plastic tips to save and conserve energy upon striking. This is also why percussionists require thick drum sticks to get a deaper more acknowledged lower tone to sound as bright as possible.
The CD sound great to me personally. It's just very bass driven which is fine to me. UA-cam compresses videos even more so. Love this DVD. HEAVY as all get out.
Gary Cherone can still belt out the high notes. I think that he has always been a great singer. Even the Van Halen brothers said during a Howard Stern interview, “ we know Gary can sing.” If that is the case, why did the Van Halen III album bomb so badly? Maybe it wasn’t Gary at all. Perhaps, the problem lays with the person who is in the captains chair........Eddie. 🤔
Because Nirvana happened and basically killed the careers of bands like Extreme and Thunder in north america before they really got the chance to take off.
Yes. But Non's still funky rockin. And Kurt blew his head off. They weren't the biggest band on the planet 25 years ago...but they still could make it ;-)
Mix is bad.. Nuno's guitar was low at the intro, and all you hear are drums louder than anything else.. You'd think a guitar player like Nuno would have his sound prominent in all aspects of a live performance.. No doubt the engineer got some guff because of it.. On a side note, he and the band are still tighter than a catholic nun's ass, and fucking rocked it.. Good to see them back at it..
Rhythmista what we hear in this video is either the Front of House Engineer or Monitor Engineer's recording of the show, or both. I can guarantee you this is not the mix the guys were hearing onstage, or even what the audience was hearing out front. Whoever edited the footage likely monkeyed with the audio mix as well.
This sounded great; usually you can’t even hear every drum in a kit like this; that was an amazing mix! if you have complaints about this I’d hate to have to live up to that standard!
Just spectacular playing, as always, by the most overlooked band on the planet, along with the mighty King's X! Jimmy Page and Eddie Van Halen are my favorite guitar players-but damn Nuno is just a notch below! The total package, Mr. Bettencourt is! Killer riffs, jaw-dropping solos, and that sweet ass tone......Nuno makes EDDIE SWEAT! New Extreme early next year!
Nuno B = One of the worlds greatest guitar players! 🎸
the greatest
Impossibly good ❤
Damn nuno is so clean on his riffs and solos. And makes it look so easy
Don't forget an amazing force too, even his backing vocals sound like a lead.
I'm a guitarist, and it would be an absolute blessing to be playing with a bassist as talented as Pat Badger.
I just worked on a concert with Pat it was so fun
Everyone in Extreme is amazing.
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
Just legendary. They play even better than in the 80's and the 90's. Nuno's sound is sublime.
Nuno B. Not only does he not age but now the late great EVH is no longer with us he has to be the best out there. A brilliant band that should of been huge
The way Nuno effortlessly plays the hardest lick in the song at 5:55 without even hybrid picking...
Damn. Pat Badger, gets the best rock bass tone. And, he's a killer player, with great back-up vocals, too.
Indeed! Pat is a monster on the bass! His technique, and backing vocal ability along with his stage presence reminds me a lot of Michael Anthony, and we all know who he is lol
Constructive Critique you’re right. Pat is very underrated in all aspects. Nuno and Pat are like PB&J
Extreme is a killer band. They crush it live.
damn I forgot how good this band is.
Agree.
Hard working bands work hard. Plus Nuno is just epic. Love you guys. Gary, the entire band, just nicest guys ever, and they rule.
So true the best band lovely guys
This music floored me when I first heard it and now all those years later it's just the same.. I don't know how but I love these guys so much!!
Rythm + lead guitar. As a guitar player, I can't imagine Nuno's fingers after a gig.
when he toured with his band Mourning Widows in Australia in 2004, he was the vocal, rythm, lead guitar and band performed quite a few classic Extreme songs, and the whole show was amazing
Seriously now? How on earth this can sound so fresh and with even more energy than the original? (and I am the guy who loves the original..) Kevin and Nuno on fucking FIRE!
1989 at the Channel in Boston
Pats no slouch either.
Leandros Christophorou these guys are like fine wine....get better with age
Fuckin True,,Amazing,!!!!
Bettencourt is killer Nuno has got it goin on love that playing
One of my favorite songs!!!

EXTREME ARE STILL ROCKING HARD :) THEY SHOULD MAKE NEW MUSIC IN 2021. ITS SAFE TO BE A ROCK BAND AGAIN
@@sonicjet7759 I hope so! The waiting is becoming UNBEARABLE! 😣😣😣
they still sound like that because they're just that damn good!
Extreme is one of those rare bands that sound better live than on their albums. It's crazy.
Agreed
Great! One of my favourite Bands..greetings from KK Sabah,Malaysia🇲🇾🤘🏼🇲🇾🤘🏼
Saw them first time in '93. Blew me away then, just did it again!
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
Whoa! Breathtakingly good! Extreme is the most proficient, melodic band in existence. Hats off to them.

An extremely underrated band!!
Firing on all cylinders. This rocks!
Such a underrated band. Nuno is off the f’n charts! Gary sounds great, better than ever! The bass and drummer bring new life! Amazing concert!!
To be honest in festival of Mercury in London they played the longest gig!
Bassist is the same as back then!
The sound of this live it's amazing
Awesome LIVE PERFORMANCE!!

Gary Cherone is such an underrated singer.
Been years I listened to them, glad they're back. almost forgot how AWESOME NUNO plays :-D
They've been back for years. Have released albums and everything.

I Love this band...
As incredible as we all know Nuno is, Pat is as equally as talented - I didn't appreciate his skill until seeing him play in this vid.
Kalau festival jaman SMU dulu selalu menang bawain lagu ini..

Nuno is legend

Nuno é top, não deixa espaços em branco, sempre preenche com algo criativo!
Nuno is an extraordinary guitar player. I reckon he needs a bit more volume on this so we can really hear that jam. Angus Young always gets his SG heard clear and loud.
Damn they STILL got it! They not all fat and out of shape and out of breath!
What a band!

I Love ❤️ Extreme! 🎸
Enough cool and unique riffs for an entire album. A lesser band would have spread them out thin, Extreme spunked them into one incredible song.
Dang! This guys are sick!!!!

fuckin perfect !! what any word to describe how amazing they are
fantastic !
Come on nuno.your on top 3 best guitar players. ..saudades from Portugal pa.
All great musicians but Nuno is in a completely different league. Best guitarist ever.
Surely you've heard of a man named Joe satriani..........
@@samualsaylor8911 Different type of players. Joe is VERY technical. Nuno has soul (aka SRV).

G R that problem exists in Winger and Dokken to name a few.
agreed, as is with most bands. Bass players are just "ignored" in favor of singers and guitar players. A shame really.
Nuno is a amazing guitarrist... its obvious, sometimes to much obvious, hehe
Im old man now, can like this band, hihi
