  • Today, On The Rollers, Alan has a pretty sweet Ford Focus RS on the dyno. This car is a full bolt-on build and has an awesome black, blue and green color scheme to boot! Unfortunately, Alan ran into an issue with this car. Can he resolve it and push the car farther than it's been???

  • @Sonicaceman
    @Sonicaceman 6 місяців тому

    What kind of symptoms did the wastage issue cause? I see lack of boost down lol. I bought a modified ST and I feel like someone adjusted the watergate and didn’t know what they were doing. Wide open it’s fine but when I step on it sometimes it is slower to build boost than what I remember in my previous ST’s

  • @FOX11GUY
    @FOX11GUY День тому

    2:43 Is this why I hear my bov stuttering on a 80% throttle pool? The throttle body closing because of the wastegate preload. Trying to control boost creating vacuum.

  • @MrAxellllll
    @MrAxellllll 4 роки тому +3

    This may seem like a stupid question, but if the rdu is disabled would that give a false power reading? I mean wouldn't it be reading power at the front wheels only? Therefore making the power reading not so accurate for all 5 wheels? I wish I could word my question better but I hope you get what I'm trying to ask Haha

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 роки тому +3

      Your question is understood, but at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what the power reading is to us. It probably reports slightly different numbers than if we had it in AWD, but we use the dyno to make sure cars are running and tuned correctly and we would use that information in relation to other RS's on our dyno. Dyno numbers vary from dyno to dyno anyway, so it's just not something we care about. Most RS's need to dyno in FWD anyway because they're sensitive and will have issues with the rear diff so it ends up being apples to apples most the time anyway.

    Isnt the ford performace turbo (ford ecoboost mustang) the same as the one in the focus? If so would the mustang with FBO and FP turbo make the same?

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  2 роки тому

      Largely the same, yes, the Mustang and RS share the 2.3L and the Focus ST is the 2.0L ecoboost motor

      @@EdgeAutosport would the rs turbo work on the mustang?

    • @joehlavach8807
      @joehlavach8807 2 роки тому

      The base ecoboost mustang 2.3 is assembled at the Cleveland plant and starting in 2020 ford now gives the eco mustang the high performance package which is the same Valencia Spain assembled motor, so the rs 2.3 is not the same as the Cleveland assembled 2.3 in the non high performance pack mustangs

    I’m fbo, stock dp, port injection kit, what kind of power could I expect from your tune? I would like to run full e85 cause I hate blending but what kind of numbers can I expect?

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 роки тому

      It's really hard to guess what you'll make because every car is different and every dyno is different. Assuming you're stock turbo, the port injection kit has the ability to make your setup reach the it's limit of what the turbo and parts on your car can do.

    • @Cokecanninja
      @Cokecanninja 3 роки тому

      Probably to late now but roughly 420 wheel horsepower is considered the safe maximum for the stock engine internals. You can go higher but you risk engine failure

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 Рік тому

      @@Cokecanninja I don't think you're gonna get there with just bolt ons that is gonna take a turbo upgrade. He don't even have a downpipe the op don't.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 Рік тому

      Full e85 may not even gain much if anything over like e30/e40 on a stock turbo. Just uses more fuel. The mixing isn't hard at all it's very simple people make it more complicated than what it actually is. Don't overcomplicate it. Run fuel down till the fuel light comes on, add 3 gal of e85 and fill the rest with 93. That is e30 e40 would be little more. It does not have to be perfect there is a cushion there get it close and er to the plus side e85 wise and you'll be fine. It don't have to be exact it's pretty simple. If you fill it at half tank you would add like 1.5 gallons or so and fill the rest with e85. Easy peasy.

    • @dRox83
      @dRox83 Рік тому

      @@midnight347 this post is quite old. Since then I went full e85, stayed at good 400whp with Adam @ tuneplus. Reason for the e85 upgrade on my end was cause I didn’t want to keep mixing the fuel to get e30. It was tedious and time consuming. Filling up straight e85 made my engine a lot happier. I was in and out of the stations. When I needed to go 93octane, I would just unplug the injectors to the fuel rail and go back to my 93oct tune.

    How could I get u to tune my car if I live in Maryland USA

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 роки тому

      We would do it through email. You send us datalogs using your AccessPort, we analyze the data, make adjustments, and then send you a new map to upload to your car. Depending on the health of the car to begin with, this can take several revisions to finish. But it's usually not too many as long as the car is in good shape. Here is where you can purchase it if you're ready. If you have more questions, feel free to email tuning@edgeautosport.com and Alan will be more than happy to assist! - edgeautosport.com/edge-autosport-etune-ford-focus-st-2013-2018-focus-rs-2016-2018/

    What mix of methanol is being injected, and how big is the nozzle?

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 роки тому +1

      I think you might have heard wrong. It's a blend of ETHANOL in the gas tank mixed with the fuel in the tank. It's about a 30% mix.
