Very helpful content, thank you
You're welcome! How are you liking your Wrangler so far?
I’ve had this system for two years and never knew it did this much.
Pretty crazy right? What build do you have for your ride?
Great video thanks
You're welcome!
Muy bueno! Excelente!
Gracias mi amigo
So what version has the smaller screen with the dials? Because I’m car shopping and the 2018 is touch screen with the 2020 is smaller with the dials
It all depends on which packages you've added on. Some of the lower trims of the Wrangler have the smaller 7" screen standard but there's a factory option to add on the larger uConnect 4c. I haven't come across one of the base screens though so don't have a review for that one
Why did you say the 7” does not have car play while in fact it does since 2018
Missed that one in editing, but thanks for pointing it out for people who are wondering!
I have the 2018 jeep wrangle and it’s the exact same screen size and everything as this video and I have it connected to blue tooth but I can’t get the apple car play, I plug it in with a cable but still nothing
Usually when CarPlay or Android Auto won't work there are 3 things to try..
1. Use a different USB port
2. Factory reset on the screen and then reconnect
3. Replace the USB cable with an OEM original, so just grab a USB cable from Apple. I find that 3rd party ones don't like to transfer data properly sometimes
I have a 2023 JLU, with the 7 inch display. I has navigation when connected by USB to the mobile phone. If I buy the 8.4 inch display, will all of the functions shown in the video work, or are there other vehicle components needed to enable them? Such as NAV, Climate and gauges? Thanks.
Only feature you may not get without a firmware update is Off-Road Pages, but climate, NAV and backup camera would work fine
Hi Steve, I own a 2018 JLU that came with a 5 inch radio, I want to upgrade to 8.4 but I searched and can not find a part# for it, there are different ones but the years don't match, do you know by any chance which part# will work with a 2018 that has apple CARPLAY? Thanks in advance.
Wondering this too. I'm sure it will fit, but mostly curious if the rectangular "cover" (that snaps in to hide the edges/bracket) that I have with my 5" will fit. Any updates here? I just ordered the 8.4", guess I'll find out soon!
You have the ability in NAV to record your travel as well. This will be useful when traveling off-road where there are no streets or signs. When you reach your destination, stop recording, and use the saved recording to navigate back to your starting point.
Thanks for pointing that out Christopher!
I hv Rubicon 2023, 2 doors. one day I was driving under the heavy rain to a destination where I already put it in the Nav, but when I turned the screen wiper on , the screen turn dark which I couldn't know where is the the location, made me crazy so I had to my hand every second to turn the wiper on and off to see if I am driving to the right destination. can you help. what to press to keep the screen on while the wiper on, please? thanks
That's a really odd issue. There could be some kind of fuse issue if your screen is turning off every time your wipers are turned on. The screen should always stay on unless you turn it off. Book it in for a service appointment
Quick question: When I bought my 2022 Wrangler we connected to Serius XM. Now that I've dropped Serius XM, can I upload UA-cam Music? If so, how? Thanks!
If you download the UA-cam music app on your phone you should be able to stream it over bluetooth or through Apple CarPlay/Android auto when you're connected that way
My jeeps voice command keeps coming on at random...what do you thinks happening? It's a 2022 cherokee trailhawk
That's odd.. If you're not pressing the voice command prompt and it's just turning on it could be a module issue. Have your dealer check it out next time it's in for service
I just got a wrangler 2023 with this system, when I paired my phone via Bluetooth, I started getting a message saying DEVICE NOT SUPPORTED, even though the phone is paired and audio is working, I unpaired, erased and even disconnected the battery, still keep getting this message, I don’t even have the car for a day….help!
If you've tried to usual fixes and those didn't work, try a soft rest
1. Turn on your Jeep
2. Press the volume button and the tuner knob at the same time for 10 - 20 seconds
3. The touchscreen display should flash and then go dark and then come back on again
and it keeps happening it oddly could be a bad USB port
7 inch doesn’t have Apple CarPlay? I believe you said so but just asking to confirm
It's odd.. on the US and Canada spec sheets it's showing it's available in some 7" screens in certain trims and not in others 🤔
I haven't been in a Wrangler yet with the 7" screen but now I have to jump into one to see if it does have it
Can you still keep the screen off if you turn off the audio? I was told that you lose all the display if you pushed the power button? I think the salesman is just ill informed.
If you press the power button it would turn the system off but if you press the "Screen Off" button just under the tuning rocker that should just turn off the screen but keep the audio going
@@CarsWithSteve so the screen only stays on if the audio is on? That’s weird. How do you see nav?
Pressing that main power button would mean that.. but you could either lower the volume using the steering wheel rocker or press "Mute" just under that power button
@@CarsWithSteve that’s unfortunate. I really like how sync is set up. This kinda bothers me.
It's an odd setup for sure but give it a few weeks and it'll become second nature to just mute out instead
Can you change the female voice to the male voice?
Nope.. this is the only voice option
