DISASTER! Soft Black Paint Correction & Ceramic Coating - Porsche Cayenne S

  • This time we had this very dirty and neglected Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid in for paint correction and ceramic coating. It’s safe to say the car has never been washed properly, as the paintwork is heavily swirled and scratched. It was an absolute disaster!
    Before we start the paint correction, the car gets thoroughly cleaned and decontamination. The paint correction exists out of 3 stages: compounding, polishing and priming for ceramic coating. To protect the perfected paintwork we applied 2 layers of CARPRO CQuartz Finest Reserve.
    Thanks to our treatment, the car is now protected for several years and also very easy in maintenance! If you enjoyed the video, give it a thumbs up and subscribe!

    I don't usually comment on detailing videos, mostly there all the same processes and I don't really pick up many new techniques or information from them. Ammo NYC is a great channel by the way...
    This video however, I found the perfect length and explains 'Detailing,' in a simple and artistic way. I like the fact you have the whole Rupes family of DA's which I'm jealous of! I'm also a fan of CarPro and will be getting more of their products in the future.

    also two questions, after the clay bar application throughout the car did you use eraser to wipe off or did you go straight into buffing with the rupes? and when it comes to applying the ceramic coating do you use a new towel per panel and do yo toss the towels in the trash after you use them to buff off the ceramic? thanks!

    • @VermijlCarDetail
      @VermijlCarDetail  3 роки тому +1

      Yes I normally do a wipe down with Eraser before I start polishing. I always use 2 towels, one to wipe off the main excess and another one to make sure no residu has been left behind. I don't reuse them and will throw them in the trash after 2 panels (ish)

    Hi, for swirl marks once its treated how long do you think it will last? or its permanent?

    • @VermijlCarDetail
      @VermijlCarDetail  3 роки тому

      It depends on how well you maintain the car, how hard/soft the paint is and such. If well maintained and also correctly polished, you should be able to keep it like that for a year, maybe longer, maybe not.

      @@jdem. Yes I highly recommend using Perl! Does a better job in my opinion, also doesn't just wash away.

    Why do you always mask around the lights or the vents? Will something happen to plastic with the polish?

    • @VermijlCarDetail
      @VermijlCarDetail  3 роки тому +2

      Polish product will stain plastic parts depending on the material. It’s fine to polish these surfaces when they are painted, but when they are not it will leave a white stain on the material. The reason why I cover the entire vent is so that polish dust won’t get in there. I tape off the lights so I don’t damage the clearcoat. The clearcoat protects the lights from UV light and yellowing.

      Walid Berrabah that might be an idea for a future video! If you are interested in the products I used in the video, here’s a list:
      - Step 1 (compounding): CARPRO ClearCut + Lake Country microfiber cutting pad
      - Step 2 (polishing): CARPRO Reflect + Rupes yellow foam finishing pad
      - Step 3 (super fine finishing polish and primer for coating): CARPRO Essence + CARPRO gloss pad
