Finally a legit review of the base Cayenne. I was so annoyed at Red line guy where he was complaining about getting a base cayenne the whole freaking video. Straight pipes, you guys are professionals for sure.
I'm with Uri, smaller rims look fine and are almost always more practical. Plus sometimes a car will have 21" rims with 9" brakes which also looks ridiculous.
But these are not smaller rims… just higher profile tires. Wheel sizes are ridiculous these days. I have 21s on my SQ5 and then OEM 13s for my 1980 Fiat.
@@constructionbootgazeryep, we can thank government safety regulations for the gradual increase over time. More security features that are required means larger size vehicles, which means larger wheels to equal proportion. I miss the days of super thin A pillar civics and such, I'll take my chances in a wreck hahaha
I appreciate a base model review honestly. all of the UA-cam car reviewers always get the highest trim of each model which is understandable but you never get a feel of if you actually need all the upgrades or not
Call me crazy but as much as I love Porsche and as much as we all know this car saved them in the past, I think this time around for the price, there are way better alternatives out there. I sat in a few of them last week and I was a bit disappointed :/ Great review Boys! Love from Montreal.
Andres I love that you are so into cars as well as tech. What are those options you saw? FYI I currently drive a GLE53... I also looked at the Cayenne years ago and was disappointed. It might be the only Porsche that doesn't feel special
BMW X5 refresh (2024 and on-) is nearly perfect. Has as much tech as Tesla. More power and much better value than Porsche too. My hybrid is 483 bhp, 516 lb ft. Absolute monster.
@@flitcroftLA just took a look, did they recently drop prices? I m shocked at the base price 72k starting price for a 483HP model is very good price nowadays. The GLE53 used to have a 68k base price. It is now like 86k. An 18,000 increase. Safe to say I m not getting the new model. The GLE63S used to cost that much in 2021 lol I might need to go check this out. Audi is also too expensive. I already checked them out
Sat in one yesterday and was kinda disappointed by the excessive use of plastic in the interior. The steering column leevers, seat adjustment controls, air vents, buttons etc. wouldn't like to see that at this price point tbh even if it is high quality made. However I very much enjoyed the seating position of the Macan, felt like a sports car
I agree. I test drove the 2024 and while it was “nice” everywhere, it didn’t scream $100k car. Also I was bothered that the arm rest didn’t extend far enough forward for me to use it while holding the wheel with my right arm (I am 5’ 8” so this is probably not as big of an issue for taller folks)
For that price you could get a low mileage 2021 Cayenne S that is near fully loaded. That's what I would buy. The changes are so minor, and I would take the V6TT over the new V8.
We have the 2019 Cayenne, and I was so tempted to upgrade when this was first released. The front looks really nice, and that uniform dash looks so clean. But the rear looks odd with light colours if you dont pay for the body kit (with a painted bumper), the interior is noticibly more plasticky, the passenger screen is useless, and the car is quite a bit more expensive than 4 years ago. A comparable build to my car now costs over 16k more. That being said, the current X5, GLE, and Q7/8 arent that great, so maybe this Cayenne will still sell well.
Some manufacturers have actually designed their cupholders to be at different heights so when both are being used with same sized cups, one will be higher than they other so the lids don't touch.
the previous gen cayenne had a special interior. when you sat in them, it wasn't like anything else out there and yet so luxurious and beautiful. now they just put 2 tablets in there and decided, yup that should work.
There are different seats available as options and the passenger screen is optional. There is no luxury sports SUV that is better when you keep in mind that Porsches are designed to be timeless unlike others that go for the wow factor.
It looks like Yuri doesn’t like when Jakub pushes like that 2:11 in a few vids I’ve seen genuine concern on his face when they overstep traction and have to force correct
What I don’t understand is why they don’t give Cayenne the 2.9L EA839 just like Macan. I thought VW was going to move to 2.9L V6 completely when I saw the Macan S using the 2.9L.
Porsche and Audi follow the same patterns on their SUV's, don't screw too much with the looks and design but make simple but big impact updates on the interior and powertrain. Porsche and Audi SUV's are the best looking on the road.
For those too young to remember: the logo aesthetic they're using is from a now-defunct toy Empire, led by a Giraffe. Named Geoffrey. Apparently Giraffes make poor business decisions. I don't wanna grow up...
I test drove a couple of the new Cayennes this summer at a Porsche Experience event. Honestly, I didn’t get why anyone would buy this for the premium. An XC90 Recharge is faster, more fuel efficient, handles surprisingly well, carries 7, and doesnt have 60” of screen showing literally nothing of value in terms of entertainment or information over the outgoing model. The 911 GTS on the other hand - 🔥🔥👌🏾
Hey Jacob, I've kinda got that you're a watch guy now. What's that watch you're wearing? I kinda thought it was a moon swatch, but it's not a Chrono, and I can't see it good enough to see what it it.
I got a new x5 50e maxed out with extended 10 year maint/warranty and still spent less. The infotainment is good once you use it for a while. I was not a fan at first but most of the complaints are non-issues. Just set the climate to auto (like most people should) and your main gripes are fixed.
last week, i rented a Macan that had that same analog clock. i was somewhat surprised (and delighted) that it auto-updated each time i crossed into a different timezone. nice touch.
I've been reading the comments below this video and It seems like most people don't like it. It actually looks cheap and plasticky in the interior, and they don't like the screens cuz they tend to break often. I think I would rather take the 1st gen Cayenne GTS V8 with a manual over this, and its the same one Doug DeMuro reviewed last year, and those 1at gen Cayennes were also very capable off road too!
Depends on your spacial needs. Macan GTS is the best daily driver ever if it's big enough for your needs. (As with all porsche's, you gotta spec them right)

The engines and platform are all shared across the group. The tuning is different which can makes some difference. But its the power and the transmission that makes the biggest difference.
Definitely not, more comparable would be the new Cayenne S vs the SQ8, being both with the V8. Price wise, since the Base is basically Sq8 territory, SQ8 for sure imo.
I just bought a base 2022 Cayenne CPO off three year lease. Only 5400 miles. Just don't understand losing the U in a sport utility by getting a coupe. Whatever floats your boat.
