@@fireemblemistrash75 it's a great gun. Probably 2000 rds through it without a single misfire, failure to eject or, failure to feed. Coming from a 1911, the safety placement might take you some getting used to but, that's the only downside I could see.
You’re actually wrong about the Beretta 92fs being used in the first 4 Die Hard Films. In Live Free or Die Hard (Die Hard 4) is the first film where John McClane actually uses a Sig Sauer p220R(45ACP). He uses this as is side armor til about midway where he loses it after ramming Mai(Thomas Gabriel’s girlfriend) into the elevator. For the rest of movie McClane uses a Berreta px4 Storm that he takes from one of the henchmen.
@@PrepperAction The Beretta 92FS does appear in "Live Free or Die Hard," but not in McClane's hand - only in the hands of a BG. The gun used in that scene is actually the same one from "Die Hard 2" - the armorer was the same guy on both films and threw in the Beretta as an Easter Egg.
According to IMFDB the 92 carried by Mel Gibson and Bruce Willis in LW 1 and DH 1 respectively, is in fact the same prop pistol. It does make a cameo in Live Free or die hard, one of the random henchmen BW fights in a stairwell is carrying that prop gun.
Fun fact, it's implied Trinity used an m9/92fs in the material but because of her hand's size, they had to opt for the beretta 84, which is a small frame double stack 380. You can see this easily by comparing slide release design and the frame mounted safety shown as opposed to the slide mounted safety of the m9/92 in the iconic"dodge this" still
Who can forget that classic scene in Mission Impossible 3 where IMF Agent Nathan Hunt gives his wife Julia an emergency crash-course on Beretta 92FS operating procedures.
In late 1986 I started saving & looking at semi-auto pistols & wasn’t even considering a Barretta! After leathal weapon came out, I decided to look at the 92. It was really comfortable in my hand, the weight & balance felt nice. I looked at a lot while I saved $$! Ended up with the 92 & still have today. In fact I just ordered a new threaded barrel for it. Hasn’t come in yet.
John McClane uses the Beretta 92F, not the 92FS, that has been modified with a larger slide release, and was converted for left hand use. The same gun (like, the same piece of equipment) was used in Lethal weapon a year earlier by Riggs, and at the time it was unmodified. The differences between the 92F and 92FS are virtually non existent, apart from the fact that the 92F could launch it's upper half in your face. This is why the 92FS appears to have two slide rails one above the other on the frame and the slide, one normally sized and one smaller.
He only uses the 92F in the first film. All subsequent entries featured the 92FS. "Die Hard 2" features an Italian (Pietro Beretta-marked) 92FS that was originally purchased by Cinema Weaponry for "Lethal Weapon 2" in 1989.
Like you said, used by Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield in Resident Evil videogame series, standard sidearm of the STARS operatives. They had a special custom model, the Samurai Edge.
A Chinese movie called Lethal Panther the main character uses a Beretta M9, 92F, or 92FS as her side arm for the whole movie except during the war scenes. So many action movies with the pistol.

I would have thought the Glock 40 S&W would show up more, especially in the hands of criminals which usually out number the good guys. But the most iconic hand gun in any series or movie is the Jericho 941 chambered for 9mm used by Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop).

So on a note of the 93R. it is not full automatic. It is select fire but as far as semi-auto and 3 round bursts. Not full auto fire like the G18 does.
Probably because his character is NYPD and their pistol selection is either Glock or SIG Sauer, Beretta was never authorized for NYPD service and was commonly used in Hollywood movies before it went Glock and more.
