As a retired Marine the 92FS was my first choice when I bought my first pistol, it just made sense as I knew it so well. I've had it for 8 years now. Thankfully we have open carry now in Georgia, as I can only truly conceal this work of art during the winter. Many rounds fired, never a miss-feed, some wear on the right side, probably from my black hawk holster as I practice all the time! I'd never carry a different side arm. Good video and Semper Fi.

I agree. My first pistol qual in the Corps was with a .45 that still had mud in it from Vietnam 🤣 I love my Springfield custom .45 but the Beretta shot accurate & functioned flawlessly when we got them. (USMC 87-93).
Carried the M9 in Iraq now have a 92Fs and my con/carry weapon of choice. Both are with out a question the best weapons I have used. Wish they would come out with a .45 in the same style.
I have M9 and replaced the polymer guide rod & trigger with steel replacement's from Beretta. It is very simple to do. As far the 92fs being better than the M9 idk. I like my M9 just fine. Very smooth accurate and consistent.

I just recently got an M9 and have been looking for a video that explains the differences between the M9 and the 92FS since they look almost identical. I love my M9 and the only problem I've had was double feeding due to casings failing to extract/eject. This happened about 3 times during the same day at the range and since then I've given the extractor a good cleaning and haven't had the problem since. Great video!
I still have my M9 for past 10 years (federal officer) still looks brand new still works flawlessly I have no dought that when I call on it and I have it will step up to the plate. I feel more comfortable carrying this big gun then any small pocket gun. I'm 6'4" with big hands i need a big back strap and beaver tail. At least I know it'll never let me down. Never ever once jammed on me Never a miss fire ever in over 10 years. A great weapon.
Ha I’ve never heard anyone make a reference like that before. Too perfect. They’re like the lincoln towncars of the gun world. Sure they’re common, and maybe not everyone’s choice for their daily driver, but when you drive one (or get in the back of one) you can’t deny that they are classy and nice lol.
My issue M-9 had the two dot sight rather than the three dot. Putting "the pumpkin on the post" gave you a much faster sight alignment than trying to balance three dots. Some say it is not as precise, but this is a fighting handgun, and at handgun fighting ranges [

I love my 92FS. The only quibble I have with it is that when racking up the first round, it's pretty easy to engage the decocker if you're not careful (such as in IPSC shooting, when you might be nervous in a competitive situation). Trigger pull is a bit heavy, too. But it happily eats pretty well any ammo you care to feed it, and almost never jams.

Ever since i did my conceal carry licence half way through 2016, i have been conceal carying Beretta 92FS.No problem whatsoever.If you have some muscles on your bones, you wont feel a difference between (empty) beretta that have around 950g or glock or other polymer that is around 800g. I have been out in the woods for 3 days with friends, and despithe them knowing i conceal carry, none of them noticed me carying one, i told them on the way back :) Dont let yourself be discouraged from conceal carying full size gun guys
Great stuff, sir! The first 9mm I ever shot was a Beretta 92FS, it was only a rental at our local pistol range, though. Now that I turned 21 a few months ago, I'm really itching to buy my own one of these days.
The m9 has a completely straight look in the front, which I like. And the 92FS has that slanted triangular look, they started doing around 2001-2002, which I never have liked. There's a chunk of metal missing from the back of the 92FS grip, where as the m9 has the full grip, which I also like more. Just overall, the m9 has that cooler original shape from the 80s. But what's cool is they're back to making the 92FS Inox, USA made, with that same exact shape and cool stamping.
Exactly right... I bought mine in 1988 and it came with the 'white dot over whit dash' sites. I kind of prefer it. I think I can line them up quicker...two items to track rather than 3...?...
I just bought me my very first beretta 92fs made in Italy model. I am a very first gun owner and I wanted to start out with something great. I have seen this guns reviews and ratings for it, I was very impressed with it that this was the gun for me. The handle is awesome the weight is great I have not fired it yet but very excited to try it out on the range.
Beretta M9 was my first gun, just got a G26 for x-mas for my new duty weapon but dammit if I ain't picking up another Beretta as soon as I can. Glock and Beretta are my favorites, partially due to the history but also the aesthetics....anyway, I noticed a few small dfferences in the M9 and 92FS but....This video was really great, very informative!
Love this platform. My first was a 96fs a1, sadly had to sell it due to hard times. Later, got an FNP 45, awesome gun and I like it, but missed the 'old friend' feeling I got from my old 96. Got a 92fs Brigadier inox now, and absolutely couldn't be happier.
I had a Sig P229 that jammed pretty frequently, had feed issues, and issues with the sights losing zero just from use. Switched to HK USP9, never had another issue.
2nd is the bottom of the barrel in front of the trigger guard the 92fs from the end of the gun to the trigger guard slightly tapers down to the trigger guard. Where as the m9 is straight back no tapering. I googled image the differences a while ago and found a picture of both guns side by side and those spots highlighted. I could be wrong but check it out ;)
Leon the professional (movie) is my favorite display of the 92FS, he uses two of them throughout the film, one is the inox version, and he has compensators on both, and they really look great. I hope to get one of these soon
StarGate used and abused the M9, I have both also. And a Kimber 45 Comp. I like the looks of the Kimber a tad better maybe cause that was my first pistol in the army til the M9 replaced them. But my Beretta's are a close close second out of my 100+ firearms!

i just bought a Beretta 92D today at the gun show. i am a former military police officer so i was trained on and carried the M9 as my duty weapon. i knew when i got out that i wanted another 92. the guy at the gun show had a 92D that was in great shape and was the right price so i got it and i couldnt be happier. i love it and cant wait to get do0wn to the range

That's odd. I'm military police, the M9 I am issued every day and everyone else's here is flathead screws in the grips. I think someone replaced your grip screws on the M9.

The best part about owning a Beretta 92FS or M9 is the availability of spare parts including magazines. The parts are reasonably priced & plenty of them available.
Don't know (can't read that far back) if mentioned, but the EARLY 92's (any stamp) and the M9 share the same dust cover under the barrel/in front of the trigger guard. The last 15-18 years or so, the 92FS's and (also except very early) 96FS's had a taper on it. I like the M9/old version better myself. Have all 3 -- Love them!!
The difference between the noticeable difference between them is the dust cover (bottom of the gun front of the trigger). The m9 is straight the fs is slanted and the back of the gun under the hammer, the m9 is a smooth curve and the fs dips in
stephen adora Yes but they both are amazing after turning in my M9 and becoming a civilian again I bought the 92fs I stand by this gun even though many of my veteran friends bad mouth it as something that has little stopping power sorry to inform them with Federal 147 grain hollow points, 16 rounds and its accuracy no bad guy will walk away.

The M9 is very nice but the 92fs grips a bit better and the sights are better. The M9 is also a military issue so it is not as available. Either one of these guns are great, dependable and accurate. Some of my service buddies use to put them down saying they do not have the stopping power I beg to differ. If you use hollow points with 147 grain no one will walk away.

I love my beretta. 20 yrs army we always had a choice of sig, glock, or beretta, and i always fired better with the beretta so i always deployed with that one and even bought one for personal use. Great accurate and reliable weapon.
Beretta has never been my fav gun, but recently I have fell in love with it's unique and smooth design and relatively big size. I like Cheetah better though
I've had the p238 for over a year. Consistent FTF FTE problems until I put over 700 rounds thru it. My favorite gun to shoot, but def don't feel safe carrying.
In Italy 92FS is the military version (military, military police, known as Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza in Italy, and State Police only) and 96FS (.40 S&W) and 98FS (9x21 IMI, which is basically a 9x19 Parabellum round with a 2mm longer casing since 9x19 Parabellum is considered "ammunition for weapons of war" in Italy just like 5,56x45, 7,62x51 and 12,7x99 NATO munitions, even though non-NATO .223 and .308 are allowed for civilians too) are civilian versions.

In all actuality, the 92FS has been in the movies, way more than the M9. It's a common misconception. Also, the FS comes in two models; the US and the ITA models. The two are similar, except the ITA model has metal parts, where if you get the US model, you can order the "metal kit". And of course there are strike marks to tell them apart. I own an FS and it's just awesome and my EDC.

Taurus actually did not copy it per se, they actually got the rights from Beretta to make clones of them when they bought the factory. So they are actually allowed to make them and that's why they haven't got sued about Beretta for making the copies.

I have both a Sig P 228 , made in Germany, and a Beretta 92 SB which is the forerunner of the 92F and goes back many years but is essentially the same pistol but with a rounded trigger guard. no. many different features abound. not unusual for the military to require a few changes to an otherwise perfect tool. practice makes perfect even better...safety first.
They're really not that different. Most parts are interchangeable. The sights are different, the dust cover on the 92 is sloped vs. straight on the M9, and the geometry of the beavertail is slightly different. Guide rod material might differ as well. Back when the M9 was first built, they looked alike. Now the 92 has been updated whereas the M9 stayed the same, per the military specifications and data package. They are ESSENTIALLY the same weapon.
alts88 The slide in the m9 is said to be upgraded. The 92fs slide had problems and they decided to start producing in the USA . They tested them in harsh conditions (lab) .So the m9's quality is said to be better than the 92fs .
@@candiceconstable2276 some would say it's exactly the opposite. The "problems" early on were due to proof pressure loads being pushed through VERY high round count weapons. Testing after the failures confirmed that the guns were not at fault. The same testing saw cracked frames on the Sig submissions. As far as comparing quality, the M9 is the same as it was in the 80's due to the DOD spec package, whereas the 92FS has had incremental changes and upgrades (like the locking block) that can't be done to the M9 without a lot of red tape with the Gov't. The M9's undergo extra testing during assembly but that doesn't make them better.
2 other differences... the 92FS has a cut out on the top back of the grip below the beaver-tail that the M9 doesn't. Also, the dust cover on the bottom of the frame is different below the barrel in front of the trigger guard (tapered instead of straight). That was done on the 92 so that they could use the same frame for the 96FS (.40 Cal) to deal with the increased stress of the larger round. I personally think it ruins the profile of the gun so I bought the M9. So basically, you have different paint on the sights, different grip screws, different cut below the beaver-tail and the dust cover profile. Other than that, they are the same gun.
also not everyone likes striker fire or polymer. I am one of those people. I am trained on DA/SA semi autos and I am used to having a safety on the firearm. I know that's not for everyone but I've drilled a lot drawing my firearm while at the same time removing the safety. Since other people live in the house I sleep better knowing a safety helps to prevent an accidental discharge. I would argue that this firearm is more accurate than the glock as well.
I have a G19 Gen 5 for about a year. Know I am selling it to move to the 92FS, Like the glock, is functional, But I shoot way better with the Beretta. Also prefer the safety/decocker DA/SA.
I do believe that there are 2 other differences on the guns you did not post. 1 being at the back of the handle where the top of your palm wraps around the gun the 92fs is slightly more carved out where as the m9 is a smooth curve from bottom to top.
Chris Gardner I have had the same thing happen to me if you ride the slide home. If you just slightly bump the slide it will go into battery and decock.

A fully loaded gun, even with (GOD FORBID) a round in the chamber, is not only perfectly legal, it's perfectly safe. The only way it could be unsafe (for example) is if you place the barrel into your mouth and pull the F'n trigger - however that would preclude the fact that you are now also demonstrating how to commit suicide and i thought this was a simple gun presentation video. I mean, what would happen if he racked the slide, and the round (eeeeck!!!) - fell out of the pistol and onto the table (Nooooo!). Brizzle412 in my humble opinion it's all about habbit. No matter if you're making a video, you're at the range, you're cleaning it at home,or you're at a gun shop...it's all about drilling yourself to clear a weapon whenever you pick it up, unless you have the intention of firing it. This creates habit. And in this case it's a damn good habit.
You may have got your answer by now but there are very tiny differences. The m9 is more esthetically pleasing for a lot of people because its the military designated sidearm. Other than that, the 92fs has a slanted dust cover, m9 has a straight one, 92 uses flat head screws, m9 uses hex. But other than those differences they are one in the same.
100%. I own 3 M9 mags from gov't subcontractors (non-Beretta) and used them in my 92F w/no problems. I replaced the flat steel floor plates with the factory Beretta polymer floorplates for appearance and corrosion prevention. Fit and function is perfect.
I like how you mentioned Boondock Saints. It's the very reason I bought my 92fs. I've had S&W .40cals and a couple Glocks. The 92fs is the best handgun I've owned. Good video.

You got cheated by your trade; Sig Sauer replaced for free the magazines that were the cause of the misfeeds in those early P238s. The only Beretta I want says "Made in Italy" on the slide.
I can't agree with the opinions of others on here regarding the redundancy of owning two Berettas. I knew what I wanted when I turned 18, and convinced my mother to purchase it after working my butt off; a Beretta 96 in .40 S&W. First gun, in a somewhat difficult caliber. Mine is made in U.S.A, but like you I want an Italian made 92A1 and of course a M9A1 (also Italian made as I understand there are small advantages, i.e. finish life, machining, etc) Meaning a grand total of 3! Good on you!
Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are the definitive Beretta 92/M9 movies. I'm trying to think of 1911 movies. That's THE movie gun but I can't think of any movies where the 1911 was used like the Beretta in Die Hard and Letal Weapon. Last Man Standing with Bruce Willis is the definitive dual 1911s movie. I believe that's a different category from a regular 1911 movie. Yes, I'm a weird guy. Sorry.

My conceal carry for ten years was the 92fs with 2 mags. Shoulder aimed down with swinging release. Never went to the movies without it. Replaced with the p30 40 caliber. I found that the 92fs would jam on first shot after months of conceal carry unless it was religously cleaned and oiled. Lint from clothes and dust effect it a lot. I wouldnt cc it again.
Had the same issue with my p238. I cut the magazine spring and it worked flawless after that. I sold it later because I needed money though. Had the same issue with a p226, cut the spring on that one as well and polished the feed ramp. Works fine now. Want to get a beretta 92 fs to have both of the pistols that competed in the military trials

The Beretta M-9 was my fist gun purchase since 1974. I’m not a gun guy but do have a few now. My 64 year old granny wife is deadly accurate with it. For those who claim you can easily engage the safety or disengage it? After tons of visits to the range, that has never been an issue for either of us. I must be doing something wrong? After thousands of rounds, the only issue I ever have is weak loads not locking the slide back.
I just bought my first pistol and it's an M9. I didn't notice the torque screws untill I got home. However the M9 that I was issued and carried for 6 months in Afghanistan said M9 and had flathead screws. Yours might be more authentic.
they're basically the exact same gun. you're right about the movies. I fell in love these guns from so many action movies. it doesn't matter the country, it's in any kind of action film.
Another difference to point out is the 92fs baottom front of the pistol below the barell it is slanted slightly having a positive upper degree angle compared to the m9 is completely horizontal.
Oh and yes, magazines are interchangeable. Not sure if he answered that, but I have a box full of m9 mags that I use for my 92. They actually feed hollow points and critical defense rounds better than the factory 92 mags. So I put the factory floor plates on my gov rounds because they look better.

@whatever7x7 lol, what does it matter? A little scratch isn't going to reduce lethality in the least. It's a gun, doesn't have to look great to blow holes in things.
There seems to be another small cosmetic difference that wasn't mentioned. On the front of the frame of the 92 FS, with the text "Read instructions..blah-blah", the frame gets thinner towards the end. The M9 has a straight horizontal frame end.
You forgot to mention that the mill marks ends at a different spot in front of the trigger guard. Also the 92fs has a little extra material taken out where the webbing of your thumb sits.

Ever since i did my conceal carry licence half way through 2016, i have been conceal carying Beretta 92FS.No problem whatsoever.If you have some muscles on your bones, you wont feel a difference between (empty) beretta that have around 950g or glock or other polymer that is around 800g. I have been out in the woods for 3 days with friends, and despithe them knowing i conceal carry, none of them noticed me carying one, i told them on the way back :)

Great stuff, sir! The first 9mm I ever shot was a Beretta 92FS, it was only a rental at our local pistol range, though. Now that I turned 21 a few months ago, I'm really itching to buy my own one of these days.
In my view, Beretta 92 is best DA/SA pistol ever. Reliable, accurate and soft shooting.
The m9 has a completely straight look in the front, which I like. And the 92FS has that slanted triangular look, they started doing around 2001-2002, which I never have liked. There's a chunk of metal missing from the back of the 92FS grip, where as the m9 has the full grip, which I also like more. Just overall, the m9 has that cooler original shape from the 80s. But what's cool is they're back to making the 92FS Inox, USA made, with that same exact shape and cool stamping.

I have the 92FS but it come with single dot rear sight maybe due to a older model. I picked it up mid to late 80's.
Exactly right... I bought mine in 1988 and it came with the 'white dot over whit dash' sites. I kind of prefer it. I think I can line them up quicker...two items to track rather than 3...?...
I think I like the 92FS look a bit better. The sights and the grip design just seem more definitive.

I just bought me my very first beretta 92fs made in Italy model. I am a very first gun owner and I wanted to start out with something great. I have seen this guns reviews and ratings for it, I was very impressed with it that this was the gun for me. The handle is awesome the weight is great I have not fired it yet but very excited to try it out on the range.

Beretta M9 was my first gun, just got a G26 for x-mas for my new duty weapon but dammit if I ain't picking up another Beretta as soon as I can. Glock and Beretta are my favorites, partially due to the history but also the aesthetics....anyway, I noticed a few small dfferences in the M9 and 92FS but....This video was really great, very informative!
Love this platform. My first was a 96fs a1, sadly had to sell it due to hard times. Later, got an FNP 45, awesome gun and I like it, but missed the 'old friend' feeling I got from my old 96. Got a 92fs Brigadier inox now, and absolutely couldn't be happier.
I had a Sig P229 that jammed pretty frequently, had feed issues, and issues with the sights losing zero just from use. Switched to HK USP9, never had another issue.
Just acquired the exact pair. FS and M9. Please give more reviews and accessories like layers and high capacity magazines. Thanks Texas

2nd is the bottom of the barrel in front of the trigger guard the 92fs from the end of the gun to the trigger guard slightly tapers down to the trigger guard. Where as the m9 is straight back no tapering. I googled image the differences a while ago and found a picture of both guns side by side and those spots highlighted. I could be wrong but check it out ;)
Leon the professional (movie) is my favorite display of the 92FS, he uses two of them throughout the film, one is the inox version, and he has compensators on both, and they really look great. I hope to get one of these soon
StarGate used and abused the M9, I have both also. And a Kimber 45 Comp. I like the looks of the Kimber a tad better maybe cause that was my first pistol in the army til the M9 replaced them. But my Beretta's are a close close second out of my 100+ firearms!
The torx head grip screws on the M9 look way cleaner(at least on video) than the flathead on the 92, but I like the 3 dot sights.
They are inverted hex. Torx are star shaped.

i just bought a Beretta 92D today at the gun show. i am a former military police officer so i was trained on and carried the M9 as my duty weapon. i knew when i got out that i wanted another 92. the guy at the gun show had a 92D that was in great shape and was the right price so i got it and i couldnt be happier. i love it and cant wait to get do0wn to the range
It was also used in the TV series "Forever Knight," second season on, I think. That's what caused me to go buy the 92FS. I love that handgun.

I got a 92FS thats made in the USA i purchased about 14 years ago, weird thing is it resembles that M9 almost exactly especially with the grips.

That's odd. I'm military police, the M9 I am issued every day and everyone else's here is flathead screws in the grips. I think someone replaced your grip screws on the M9.

Mine that was issued had flathead screws and dotted rear sites, but was stamped M9.

Nice Berettas, I love mine too, got the M9 with the picatinny rail and some awesome wood grips.
Don't know (can't read that far back) if mentioned, but the EARLY 92's (any stamp) and the M9 share the same dust cover under the barrel/in front of the trigger guard. The last 15-18 years or so, the 92FS's and (also except very early) 96FS's had a taper on it. I like the M9/old version better myself. Have all 3 -- Love them!!
The difference between the noticeable difference between them is the dust cover (bottom of the gun front of the trigger). The m9 is straight the fs is slanted and the back of the gun under the hammer, the m9 is a smooth curve and the fs dips in

stephen adora Yes but they both are amazing after turning in my M9 and becoming a civilian again I bought the 92fs I stand by this gun even though many of my veteran friends bad mouth it as something that has little stopping power sorry to inform them with Federal 147 grain hollow points, 16 rounds and its accuracy no bad guy will walk away.

The M9 is very nice but the 92fs grips a bit better and the sights are better. The M9 is also a military issue so it is not as available. Either one of these guns are great, dependable and accurate. Some of my service buddies use to put them down saying they do not have the stopping power I beg to differ. If you use hollow points with 147 grain no one will walk away.

I love my beretta. 20 yrs army we always had a choice of sig, glock, or beretta, and i always fired better with the beretta so i always deployed with that one and even bought one for personal use. Great accurate and reliable weapon.

I've had the p238 for over a year. Consistent FTF FTE problems until I put over 700 rounds thru it. My favorite gun to shoot, but def don't feel safe carrying.
I always think of it as M9 is military version, 92FS is civilian.
In Italy 92FS is the military version (military, military police, known as Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza in Italy, and State Police only) and 96FS (.40 S&W) and 98FS (9x21 IMI, which is basically a 9x19 Parabellum round with a 2mm longer casing since 9x19 Parabellum is considered "ammunition for weapons of war" in Italy just like 5,56x45, 7,62x51 and 12,7x99 NATO munitions, even though non-NATO .223 and .308 are allowed for civilians too) are civilian versions.

LoL. Nice. Gave my brother my 92FS when he got home from Afghanistan. He got home back few months after me. I miss that gun, but I got a 90-TWO I held onto. Never did understand why they discontinued that piece. I like the hell outta it.
In all actuality, the 92FS has been in the movies, way more than the M9. It's a common misconception. Also, the FS comes in two models; the US and the ITA models. The two are similar, except the ITA model has metal parts, where if you get the US model, you can order the "metal kit". And of course there are strike marks to tell them apart. I own an FS and it's just awesome and my EDC.
I have the older 92 SB Carried it for 25 yrs love this gun very reliable etc.
Couldn't afford a Beretta 92 FS so I have a Taurus PT92SS-17 on order.

I have a Tuarus and are just as good or better, Tuarus bought the Berreta factory in Brazil and copy it and improve it.
Hickock45 has a video on that one. Not a downgrade in my opinion. Seems like a very reliable tool.

Taurus actually did not copy it per se, they actually got the rights from Beretta to make clones of them when they bought the factory. So they are actually allowed to make them and that's why they haven't got sued about Beretta for making the copies.

I have both a Sig P 228 , made in Germany, and a Beretta 92 SB which is the forerunner of the 92F and goes back many years but is essentially the same pistol but with a rounded trigger guard. I like them both but the Sig is more compact and is a better shooting gun than the Beretta, but not by much. The Beretta is significantly larger and holds two more rounds in the magazine. The 92FS has a different sight than the M9. My 92FS was made in America also. Similar weapon yes, but not the same
no. many different features abound. not unusual for the military to require a few changes to an otherwise perfect tool. practice makes perfect even better...safety first.
They're really not that different. Most parts are interchangeable. The sights are different, the dust cover on the 92 is sloped vs. straight on the M9, and the geometry of the beavertail is slightly different. Guide rod material might differ as well. Back when the M9 was first built, they looked alike. Now the 92 has been updated whereas the M9 stayed the same, per the military specifications and data package. They are ESSENTIALLY the same weapon.
alts88 The slide in the m9 is said to be upgraded. The 92fs slide had problems and they decided to start producing in the USA . They tested them in harsh conditions (lab) .So the m9's quality is said to be better than the 92fs .
@@candiceconstable2276 some would say it's exactly the opposite. The "problems" early on were due to proof pressure loads being pushed through VERY high round count weapons. Testing after the failures confirmed that the guns were not at fault. The same testing saw cracked frames on the Sig submissions. As far as comparing quality, the M9 is the same as it was in the 80's due to the DOD spec package, whereas the 92FS has had incremental changes and upgrades (like the locking block) that can't be done to the M9 without a lot of red tape with the Gov't. The M9's undergo extra testing during assembly but that doesn't make them better.
2 other differences... the 92FS has a cut out on the top back of the grip below the beaver-tail that the M9 doesn't. Also, the dust cover on the bottom of the frame is different below the barrel in front of the trigger guard (tapered instead of straight). That was done on the 92 so that they could use the same frame for the 96FS (.40 Cal) to deal with the increased stress of the larger round. I personally think it ruins the profile of the gun so I bought the M9. So basically, you have different paint on the sights, different grip screws, different cut below the beaver-tail and the dust cover profile. Other than that, they are the same gun.
beretta 92fs same ammo capacity as glock 19 which is shorter and more concealable.
however looks nicer than glock though.
unless you put a 17 or 20 round mag in it. both will fit flush is a beretta not so with g19
also not everyone likes striker fire or polymer. I am one of those people. I am trained on DA/SA semi autos and I am used to having a safety on the firearm. I know that's not for everyone but I've drilled a lot drawing my firearm while at the same time removing the safety. Since other people live in the house I sleep better knowing a safety helps to prevent an accidental discharge. I would argue that this firearm is more accurate than the glock as well.
Striker fire is for kids that haven't learned how to operate a grown ups fire arm yet. Plus I prefer my pistol to be made if metal if at all possible.
I’ve been debating on getting a Glock 19 gen 5 or beretta 92 fs and the Glock which I know is a good gun it’s just plain and dull looking.
I have a G19 Gen 5 for about a year. Know I am selling it to move to the 92FS, Like the glock, is functional, But I shoot way better with the Beretta. Also prefer the safety/decocker DA/SA.
I do believe that there are 2 other differences on the guns you did not post. 1 being at the back of the handle where the top of your palm wraps around the gun the 92fs is slightly more carved out where as the m9 is a smooth curve from bottom to top.

Chris Gardner I have had the same thing happen to me if you ride the slide home. If you just slightly bump the slide it will go into battery and decock.
I believe the Italian made 92FSs have the flathead screw and the American made 92s M9s and so on they have the torque screws.

A fully loaded gun, even with (GOD FORBID) a round in the chamber, is not only perfectly legal, it's perfectly safe. The only way it could be unsafe (for example) is if you place the barrel into your mouth and pull the F'n trigger - however that would preclude the fact that you are now also demonstrating how to commit suicide and i thought this was a simple gun presentation video. I mean, what would happen if he racked the slide, and the round (eeeeck!!!) - fell out of the pistol and onto the table (Nooooo!). No matter if you're making a video, you're at the range, you're cleaning it at home,or you're at a gun shop...it's all about drilling yourself to clear a weapon whenever you pick it up, unless you have the intention of firing it. This creates habit. And in this case it's a damn good habit.

You may have got your answer by now but there are very tiny differences. The m9 is more esthetically pleasing for a lot of people because its the military designated sidearm. Other than that, the 92fs has a slanted dust cover, m9 has a straight one, 92 uses flat head screws, m9 uses hex. But other than those differences they are one in the same.
The M9 I have has flat head screws, and every M9 I've seen has same, yrs may have been "upgraded" at some time. Either way, love them berreta's

100%. I own 3 M9 mags from gov't subcontractors (non-Beretta) and used them in my 92F w/no problems. I replaced the flat steel floor plates with the factory Beretta polymer floorplates for appearance and corrosion prevention. Fit and function is perfect.

You got cheated by your trade; Sig Sauer replaced for free the magazines that were the cause of the misfeeds in those early P238s. The only Beretta I want says "Made in Italy" on the slide.
I can't agree with the opinions of others on here regarding the redundancy of owning two Berettas. I knew what I wanted when I turned 18, and convinced my mother to purchase it after working my butt off; a Beretta 96 in .40 S&W. First gun, in a somewhat difficult caliber. Mine is made in U.S.A, but like you I want an Italian made 92A1 and of course a M9A1 (also Italian made as I understand there are small advantages, i.e. finish life, machining, etc) Meaning a grand total of 3! Good on you!
Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are the definitive Beretta 92/M9 movies. I'm trying to think of 1911 movies. That's THE movie gun but I can't think of any movies where the 1911 was used like the Beretta in Die Hard and Letal Weapon.

My conceal carry for ten years was the 92fs with 2 mags. Shoulder aimed down with swinging release. Never went to the movies without it. Replaced with the p30 40 caliber. I found that the 92fs would jam on first shot after months of conceal carry unless it was religously cleaned and oiled. Lint from clothes and dust effect it a lot. I wouldnt cc it again.

Had the same issue with my p238. I cut the magazine spring and it worked flawless after that. I sold it later because I needed money though. Had the same issue with a p226, cut the spring on that one as well and polished the feed ramp. Works fine now. Want to get a beretta 92 fs to have both of the pistols that competed in the military trials

well if you get a WE M9 Sword Cutlass the grips should fit on a beretta 92fs. bc the grips on a beretta 92fs will fit a WE M9 Sword Cutlass.

The Beretta M-9 was my fist gun purchase since 1974. I’m not a gun guy but do have a few now. My 64 year old granny wife is deadly accurate with it. For those who claim you can easily engage the safety or disengage it? After tons of visits to the range, that has never been an issue for either of us. I must be doing something wrong? After thousands of rounds, the only issue I ever have is weak loads not locking the slide back.

they're basically the exact same gun. you're right about the movies. I fell in love these guns from so many action movies. it doesn't matter the country, it's in any kind of action film.
Another difference to point out is the 92fs baottom front of the pistol below the barell it is slanted slightly having a positive upper degree angle compared to the m9 is completely horizontal.
One of the big differences with these two firearms to me is the frame. The 92FS has an angled or tapered dustcover, and its straight on the M9.

Oh and yes, magazines are interchangeable. Not sure if he answered that, but I have a box full of m9 mags that I use for my 92. They actually feed hollow points and critical defense rounds better than the factory 92 mags. So I put the factory floor plates on my gov rounds because they look better.

@whatever7x7 lol, what does it matter? A little scratch isn't going to reduce lethality in the least. It's a gun, doesn't have to look great to blow holes in things.
There seems to be another small cosmetic difference that wasn't mentioned. On the front of the frame of the 92 FS, with the text "Read instructions..blah-blah", the frame gets thinner towards the end. The M9 has a straight horizontal frame end.
Its an iconic pistol and great collector piece. The price is good too. Great video!
You forgot to mention that the mill marks ends at a different spot in front of the trigger guard. Also the 92fs has a little extra material taken out where the webbing of your thumb sits.
