So quick to remind him of his 3 minutes but late, negligent, and reluctant to reply to his email a month ago.
well im sure when he did his thesis the examiner reminded him of the remaining time.
He’s not doing an exam here and his words are very much worth a few second to listen to, but then again the board have no intention of doing so since they probably heard it all before hence the silence on the email front.
I was gonna say the same thing. If they replied to his email, then he would said what he wanted to say in less than 3 minutes.
Yeah, he was speaking WAY too much truth!
Thinking the same thing. So dismissive that the only response was to remind him it was time to shut up. Which just proves the whole point he was making. Disgusting.
That's 3 minutes.
That is literally what he was talking about. No respect for teachers.
No. The lack of respect for teachers that he was talking about is in the fact that after his speech they still voted for decreasing safety measures, with absolutely no amendment to the proposal they had before his speech.
@@orchardlea yeah, that too. And the list goes on... I doubt they even actually 'listen' to the 3 min speech 💁
That is the highlight of his existence. Ofcourse he would cherish it.
@@orchardlea You missed the point. They SHOW they have no respect while he was talking about them not having respect for teachers by saying 'That's 3 minutes'.
It's the absurdity.
@Yuri Bezmenov찾아보세요 부탁입니다 SATs/ACTs aren't a great way to test children on their abilities. In fact, SATs/ACTs dont really serve a purpose.
And children have always come home from school learning about social interactions because English classes literally teach you about the time period a piece of literature was written and how it contrasts in today's society. History class teaches you about not just wars but also the union strikes and how it affected the laws on meat production and processing.
Math teaches you to conceptualize the value of the items, to know the interest rates on loans.
You just think that all school subjects should be taught in a vacuum when that has literally never been the case at all

@Vord Joncus That sounds cool , but that won't be appropriate for that situation
It’s unfortunate that his students are losing him, as he seems like a valuable educator.
Exactly! Schools need teachers who care about their school and students. I'm glad at the time I went to school over 30 years ago, teachers were qualified, cared about their students and education was a priority. What's happening now to education, protocols and teachers are a disservice. If students and teachers are not happy with the current system, there is no progress. It's failing across this country in record numbers and not keeping people safe is not high on some people's agenda. SMDFH!
Speaking as a former student of his, he was one of the best.
A man that passionate about teaching will not be lost to students. I bet you he will keep teaching. It’s unfortunate that his school is losing him but maybe just maybe his voice will be heard and he can help change things.
We are unfortunate as society lost a good teacher who could have build some great leaders
I hate they didn't even listen to his speech about the concerns that he and all other teachers had and in the end they shortened the distance from 6 to 3 feet and the length of days for a kid to be out if they have Covid from 14 to 10. What a slap in the face!!
As a former teacher, administration was the very reason I left. I refused to be silenced, and take the abuse. I refused, and I have never regretted my decision.
What did they ignore you about?
What happened?
My gf left because of that very same reason. The administration is BS.
So you silenced yourself by leaving? Ok
No regrets, Amen.
Teachers need to be respected. They work so hard and get paid too little
Teachers are underpaid, overworked (US teachers work ~40% more than in countries with better education), not respected and ignored.
But that's actually only part of the problem. The whole education system in the US of A needs to change. Not the least of which is the treatment of the employees - not only teachers.
@@JesusKreist Is that why they choose to teach hatred, racism & distorted history? They think they can use taxpayer dollars to brainwash kids against Trump. I'm watching from overseas. @@michaellloyd8594 how were you able to fit so much ignorance into such a short paragraph?
This board is shameless, instead of listening to this teacher, they are timing him. Schools are losing good teachers and replacing them with substitutes
I work in politics and while I do hate it unfortunately those timing rules are what we have to do. I love the point this guy was making and think this school board sucks You'll see this no matter where you are and how progressive it is. I am not defending the school board, but parliamentary procedure is considered sacred, like a sort of rule of law. I see pros and cons to it. Still most people don't know parliamentary procedure which is common in political parties and school boards, so I hope I informed you. You can dislike it fine by me, but I do want to point it out. Because a lot of people misinterpret following parliamentary procedure as lack of care. While this school board definitely didn't, I do feel it's unfair to mischaracterize the issue. There's many worse things to blame them here for.
@@deiansalazar140 Thank you didnt know about the timing rules.
@Ditmar Kriegisch I don't deny. Though I will note it's not bureaucrats. I work in a volunteer based party of people with many different genders, ethnicities, religions, ages, and diverse political views and it's still like this. It's considered vital to the functioning of any political organization, to have a firm consistent system of rules all things are held to. I'm not defending it. I just get irked about misinterpretations and misrepresentations. Make up your own mind on if it's good or not.
This is absolutely true. Long term subs are not teachers.
That may be one of the reasons why parents are taking their kids away from public schools altogether.
You know America's priorities are backwards when the men and women shaping the future generations are angry, underpaid, and ignored 😓

"That's 3 minutes." Proves his point exactly.
1k and no comments?
Izzy this school board was horrible. As a Progressive I am disgusted. But I also work in politics and have to say parliamentary procedure is considered sacred, especially on school boards. It's considered a political rule of law that keeps order and allows politics to function. So while this school board is terrible, I work in politics and want to point out the truth of the situation. Everything they did besides that, including ignoring his point and complaints, were terrible.
But that timing thing while showing how they didn't care by not saying something positive with it, isn't awful by itself. Keeping strict timing is essential to a lot of political procedure and allowing groups to function without devolving into chaos. I hope I helped, I am no apologist and fully side with the teacher here.
The teacher has got bigger balls than all the members of board combined. He sure can talk.
A qualified teacher like him has to follow orders from some urban bullies is very disappointing.
Well, of course He can talk. He already quit the job...

Having a board of directors is an antiquated way of running anything, they're almost always out of touch with the industry they are apart of.
IMO, many boards get "lost in the thickets" micromanaging the trivial or promoting an agenda apart from the core mission. I've seen members invest more time in food orders or seating arrangements for board events than on the policies that will shape the community. Other members view board service only as a social/political stepping stone. There has got to be a better way to govern.
It's that way by design.
Something like healthcare 3.0, where the clinicians and department heads actually make the decisions. A place where administrators always take a backseat, where their sole focus is to support their staff, keep the lights on, pay the bills. A board of directors would be a check and balance body, to make sure that the clinicians and department heads were staying within the guidelines of their duties and responsibilities. Additionally the board of directors being prominent members of society, would help raise money, advertise, and support the business. Each board member would be required to volunteer a certain amount of time within the organization in different departments in different capacities throughout the year.

And they couldn’t even offer the respect of letting him finish.
Really drives his point home.
the way that dude tells him ''that's 3 minutes'' is disgusting. you can just hear the disdain in his voice he has for this teacher.
I feel like these old ducks just live forever. When are we going to get more current leaders that actually care about the future.
Never.
Those board members needs to start getting checked!!! Don't let them feel comfortable anywhere! Hold them accountable!!!
2:48 Reminds me of the quote, "When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say." - GRRM
YESSS! GOOD ON YOU SIR! So often those charged with making the decisions are completely clueless as to the day to day struggles and problems in actual lives. Shame on you school board members for not listening to the one's WHO ARE ACTUALLY LIVING IN THE TRENCHES!!!!
Did the same thing 7 years ago, never looked back. This seems to be a worldwide problem, school boards and unions are corrupt to the core and the ones who suffer in the end are the students.
Worldwide nope. Get out of USA and see. There are many countries out there who values teachers. Same way there are counties who don't respect them.
So families should stand up and do something...attend such meetings etc
@@saurabhshrigadi You need to let me know which country does, teachers are always undervalued, the higher ups on the school boards are all power hungry, it's no longer about the teaching.
@@saurabhshrigadi As long as it has a union, then no.
"That's 3 minutes"
And that's longer than the time you spent caring about the educational system, the teachers and their students

Except those in power know exactly what they're doing, and are glad for the ignorance and apathy of those they govern, since they profit from it.
This is honestly just such a huge disgrace, that people who children look up to and who they are shaped by are given so little in exchange and given so little credit for the huge impact that they have on society.
Most deserve such little pay in this day and age. At least the liberal ones do.

Things got so unworthy of the support of board when they said “3 minutes".
I've been saying for long time that the single most effective measure the US could do to fix it's problems would be to make teacher a job that is well respected and decently paying.
I'm from Detroit which is right under Grosse Pointe and the concerns they bring up are valid but not at all pressing if Michigan is to fix anything it has to start with the jail conditioning buildings call Detroit public schools
Captain America wears Wolverine’s jacket, with Tony Stark’s savage attitude, working as a teacher just like Banner
I WANT TO MAKE THIS RESIGNATION SPEECH TO OUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT TOO, THIS IS HOW HEALTHCARE WORKERS FEEL RIGHT NOW IN OUR COUNTRY AMIDST THE PANDEMIC!!!
What came down on you became so overwhelming just watching the news reports. Gut wrenching and that was only in my imagination. Your needs should have been so obviously of the top and number one concern and they could have been.
And people think I'm crazy for homeschooling my kids. Well, I've seen what my district does and I don't want it for my children. Teachers are heroes but they are stuck in a really messed up system.
I stand in solidarity with these teachers. "We're angry at you" well said. I'm exhausted from watching in horror as BS boards of all kinds make decisions about our lives.
he has my highest praise that’s how you resign as a teacher
I am so glad to hear a passionate teacher like this man. He deserves to be treated better. Just all the other teachers that deserve respect ✊🏻
I wish people in India could be courageous like him.
People are sent to Jail for raising concern or for criticising government in india. So called "democracy"😔
In India even medium level school in Towns ( forget about metro cities ) .....COMPETITION is very high. Average Students spends 6 hour in coaching apart from school hours. To get admission in IIT or MBA is not easy .....nobody has time

I don't depend on my school teachers. So i don't care.
My personal experience - I studied ( Primary education from first to Sixth std - 1960 to 1966 ) in East Africa ....completed my education in India. I believe that growth or success depends upon ONESELF - other things like school, facility in school etc etc are peripheral.......
Teachers work condition has become worse and worse. Teachers are so exploited and the salary is working class, even worse for substitute teachers. The workload is toxic. During the pandemic, teachers were forced to teach in person and now they want teachers to do hybrid teaching which is teaching live on camera and in person AT THE SAME TIME.
You have to be joking, but no it sounds true for these times we are in. Teachers should demand double the pay and hazard pay. Hybrid teaching, sounds like common core, ridiculous.
@@jenniferj6580 hazard pay and combat pay.
@@jenniferj6580 It is an attack on social services and middle class. The quality of education is going down along with the treatment of teachers..
@@basicinfo2022 You are right. It seems they want chaos in the classroom, setting up teachers and students for failure. What state is this in? Rhetorical question, if its public school it's going on everywhere.
Great Soul.
Great teacher.

That's crazy because literally when I was in High School, almost half of the teachers I grew a liking/connection to all left because of an issue with the school, principal, and board members.
I wanna see the faces of every single board members during this amazing speech. Where do I sign up?
My mother is a teacher. The school board has given up in it’s entirety. They don’t listen to the teachers, or staff, they only make decisions based on what they think will get them re-elected, which is more often than not the wrong choice.
Thank you SO MUCH for this inspirational speech!!!!👍👏👏👏👏
I wonder what he was complaining about?... 🤷♂️
It's amazing the power that a board of education has over its teachers and none of them know anything about a classroom and what it's like to teach
Some human beings love power because it’s exciting to have control over people. It’s dark but it’s true.
Might come as no surprise, but you get this in every profession lol. I have had bosses and even colleagues who attempt to be the big boss man and tell you how to try and do things, whilst having zero to very little experience of actually doing it or knowing what is and isn't plausible for situations.
Anyone not willing or not capable of doing the work themselves, should not expect others to do it for them.
@@vodkacannon common sense

It's in moments like these where I start to see eye-to-eye with anarchists. The power that board members have over people who actually work in education is an unjust hierarchy. A horizontal leadership strategy would better allow the concerns of teachers and other school workers to be remedied with necessary action
Anarchism isn't always an end goal. Often it is simply a tool to combat fascism. When people are unable to be heard through legitimate means they are pushed towards working extra-judicially. The hard part is gaging the lines when they have not been decided for you. What is an ethical amount of disruption and what is a justified cause to invoke that disruption. I wouldn't call myself an anarchist but I have had to perform acts of anarchy when the law prevented me from acting ethically. That can be something as small as protesting beyond an allotted zone or protecting migrants from ICE. When a law is unjust should you follow the law or aim for justice. Anarchy is a part of every cultural revolution. Anarchy was tearing down segregation when the law was in effect. Anarchy was the sit ins and marches for LGBT rights. Anarchy is a necessary part of progress when stagnation becomes law.

This needs to happen more. Teachers know more than anyone what their students need. No one else should be making decisions for their classes except good hard working honest teachers such as this one right here 👏
Respect is everything.
Disgusting, ignorant boards .
They are everywhere.
Of course at the end the only thing that "board" was concerned with was shutting that man up.
l miss him he teaches me and I respected him he is a kind of teacher who u can properly call teacher
Schools shouldnt have to worry about budgets and teachers should make as money as they were promised when they went to college and got their degrees. Bestowing knowledge of the ancients upon the next generation so they can make a better future for themselves and everyone should be a service that is lauded by everyone, not run as a corporation that cuts corners.
Knowledge is the enemy to the state and big brother government. Are you honestly surprised?
If I hadn’t Graduated already I would want him to be my teacher.
