Hi! I was hoping to apply next year and was wondering if you knew what type of projects/ courses are best for an aspiring nurse? And if community service can help my application? Thank you for the great video !

Hey Allison, you know its summer. I've been doing summer school for 2 years, wanting to go to BCA for ABF. Any advice for clubs?
my grades are all right, 88 and high 90s and 100s for 2nd trimestor and 94s and 100s in 3rd trimestor.
Is that all right? (p.s. also in NJHS, Student Council,)

Hi! Yes, thank you for commenting, hope you’re having a lovely summer so far.
There is an ABF-exclusive club called DECA that prepares you for submission to their competition and the international career development conference.
You can check out this article written by an ABF student from c/o 2024 on last year’s DECA academychronicle.com/7390/school/bcas-deca-chapter-competes-back-in-person/
But BCA hosts a wide array of student-run clubs, and I encourage you to explore in diverse fields as much as you can! Here are the club descriptions as of March 2022: www.bergen.org/cms/lib/NJ02213295/Centricity/Domain/688/21-22%20BCA%20CLUBS%20List%20Trimester%203%20-%20Student%20List.pdf And as I mentioned, you can start your own if you want! (s/o to mine, Aspiring Surgeons of BCA) Clubs are a great way to connect with all grades and spend time with your BCA friends while doing something you enjoy :)

I can’t say much on grades since I don’t know about everyone’s individual school or situation, but in general you want to be challenging yourself with advanced classes and doing your best to score well.
I am not clear on your question about summer school and activities. Will you be applying for the c/o 2027 cycle?

@@allyalive Yes I will, This december, I will be applying.
Just a few questions in mind,
1.) Does BCA limit acceptances based on towns you live in?
2.) Would working with someone for instance a business person boost your acceptance?

    • @allyalive

@@nxtchickx1856 Great to hear, I wish you the best!
From my experience coming from a town with a small school, mine had 5 people receive interviews and 3 including myself be accepted (2 AEDT, 1 AMST). By talking to other students during the interview stage, I found that generally larger districts received more interview and acceptance spots, possibly because BCA received more applications from those areas.
There’s not much I know that you can do with this information being that you live in a certain Bergen County town-to be comparing yourself with other towns that may or may not receive more spots, how that could help you in your process.
Focus on yourself and your own interests. If you are passionate about business, or even still exploring, yes it would be great to intern with someone from that field! Make sure that you are genuinely interested, and that this experience is not just for an application, your parents, or anyone but yourself wanting you to do this. That will work in your favor even years in the future regardless of whether or not you go to BCA.

I remember learning about BCA going into 6th grade and am doing college apps going into 12th grade, so this brings back memories. I hope my advice is valuable to middle schoolers like yourself going through the process, as it’s something I wish my siblings and I would have had going through it. In the years leading up, I saw them go through the application and was the last in my family to apply. From back then to seeing them go off to college now and me going into my senior year at BCA, I have learned so much and want to share as I was once in your spot❤️

I’m trying to get into BCA, I have all high 90s and made principal honor roll every quarter this year (7th grade) however, I have received a 92 which is a B in my school, do you think that this would dramatically impact my chances?

    • @allyalive
      @allyalive  2 роки тому

Hi Geo, it seems like you have been getting good grades overall, so one grade should not dramatically impact your chances. Don't dwell on it if it isn't something that can be fixed now. 90 and above is usually in the A- to A range anyways. I would recommend to keep your grades up for the remaining of the year and 8th grade as well as focusing on strengthening other parts of your application

I just got my acceptance letter like two weeks ago and my grades were not always in the 90s I have gotten a 81 once for a marking period and I still got in I think they mostly check to see that your not failing and as long as you do good on the test and interview you'll get in.Good Luck :)
