MSTR is the asset (never sell); MSTU is the engine (short term gains, always buy and sell) to accumulate more MSTR and MSTY. MSTY is your monthly paycheck (or reinvest). I’m unemployed, this is my investment wrap. Accumulate, don’t hesitate.
I would love to sell covered calls on MSTR. Problem is I would need $40,800.00 per contract, not ideal for me. I'm buying MSTY later this week and will use the distributions to buy BTC.
Let's Keep It SIMPLE... "KISS"... As a retired VET living paycheck to paycheck why not live off the dividends on these... Compare ALL the div paying companies in the syatem and MSTY beats them all for the prize of the underline shares... You are young and have dif goals... Don't get too greedy... I am happy with just a few thousand a month... God Bless
Maybe a good idea to hold both? I will use my mstr position to buy Msty on margin. You have mstr growth and msty income. Use income to buy more stock or pay your bills.
I appreciate your perspective. I wish that I had $800k in my portfolio so that I could do a single covered call contract on MSTR that costs $40k to obtain atm so as to not overweight my portfolio on Bitcoin plays. Unfortunately, that leaves me at comparing MSTY to call spreads on MSTR, and, to me at least, the risk trade-off is worth the underperformance. If I invest in MSTY at $35 and it drops to $25 and I still own the shares it has the chance to recover. If I mess up my call spread with $1k collateral that's lost money forever
I just subscribed. Your content has helped me a lot. Keep up the good work! Could you do a deep dive on MSTX like you did for this one by itself? Thanks!
You might have more experience with what you can do or not do with your TFSA? I.e. can you own MSTR and sell Covered Calls option every week or weeks or months in a TFSA? Can you buy back the CC on the expiry date?
Yes and yes. For msty u should buy within ur rrsp (not subject to withhold tax), or any US dividend paying stock should be bought inside rrsp for that matter
great vids, so if i was just gonna hold stock long term you would say buy mstr? rather than msty im thinking of cashing in msty and dumping more into mstr im losing 15% of the div payout on my msty in my tfsa msty div payout is huge
That's what I would personally do. That 15% withholding tax is also ruining gains for sure. If you want to earn income from just holding mstr you might want to learn about doing a covered call strategy yourself.
The IV is the key to how much they pay. These can go really good but are capped , they will take all the down after the bullrun. Its risky , cost vs reward Paying roc helps with taxes
I wonder if anyone here bought msty then sold covered call against it? Double dip premiums . Cuz if mstr doesn't go crazy, there shouldn't be much upside for msty. The premium for msty is not bad...ATM 90 days out you get like 10%.
Respect for you. Listened upto 9 minutes. But the video is not contextualizing well the purpose of a high yield Income generation MSTY and its use cases, resulting in a misleading conclusion ! Feedback from a good space and as a well wisher.

Get paid in MSTY and buy MSTR

I think another stock split is in their future. This will make options more accessible for retail

I do say this in the video. It's really for someone who wants income and doesn't want to learn or take the time/energy to sell covered calls

Interesting perspective, thanks for sharing
I like MSTY for the income and also buy LEAPS to catch the upside that MSTY doesn't. I'm doing this for the next 10-12 months then probably will exit.

@ oh you are making me want to but i dont believe its permitted in the TFSA….
@@growtimez it is permitted. You can't do cash secured puts. But you can sell covered calls in a TFSA. I do it all the time
@@bitcoinnotcrypto thanks again, i think your channel is great and ive got some learning to do from you sir!

@bitcoinnotcrypto can you buy back the covered call if the buy back is cheap so you can redo the covered call Sell?
I think the reason they use a synthetic position is because you can't have a single stock etf.

Can you buy Msty puts the day before the payout drop?
Put pricing models usually account for dividend payouts affecting the share price.
