It was an example because I didn't have the numbers infront of me. Mstr pre 10:1 split share price was 1300 after the split it was 130 but you owned 10 shares for every 1 share you owned before.
@ yes i get it just a number for reference yep 1000 before split and each share would still be 1000 is what you said but it would be 100 after the spit right? not 1000 after split
A lot of FUD on Bitcoin Twitter. Thank you for making this video! 🙌🏻 Perhaps one of the best explanations along with the guys from the 'Irresponsibly Long MSTR' community.
Just buy BTC. Unless you are looking to hold a stock instead. In that case MSTR is the one you want. In 10yrs , MSTR is going to be the largest BTC Bank in the World.
I hold both 50/50, and actually my 3 BTC worth of shares I put into MSTR a few years ago is worth way more today than if I had just held 100% BTC. I’m loving this combo of cold storage btc AND MSTR
Question, how creation of a new shares doesn't lower the price of existing shares by amount of a new shares? Even if BTC will go up, my shares today equal to the average price of Bitcoin cost for MSTR, correct around $55k and if MSTR buys new BTC today at the price around $100k it will increase the average cost of BTC, So, if or when price of BTC drops below average cost of BTC for MSTR they would be in a negative territory, how is this not the problem? and as a share holder, why I should be "happy" about this? thank you
It's dilutive to the shares, but it's accretive to the underlying permanent capital of Bitcoin they hold. Even with the issuing of new shares they are increasing the fully diluted Bitcoin per share. (They call it Bitcoin yield) They are able to do this because there is a multiple to their net asset value. If their mNAV is 3, by printing one share they dilute by a factor of 1 but get the Bitcoin of a factor of 3. Their Bitcoin is unencumbered by their debt so it doesn't fundamentally matter if the price of Bitcoin goes below their average purchasing price. Their share price will reflect that as they are ultimately a bet on Bitcoin price going up long term. But they are also a bet on being able to consistently add more Bitcoin per share over time. Just as any company today is valued on its future cash flows.
@@bitcoinnotcrypto thank you! but don't you see another potential problem here, this problem can be created for BTC by MSTR alone!! I think MSTR on a very thin ice here, if one company will be in possession of 20% of all BTC supply, many other countries and institutions may simply loose interest in it!! , Bitcoin has value as long as others need it, but if MSTR or even USA buys the most of available Bitcoins, what would be incentive for example for BRICS to enter this game? Why would they accept Bitcoin and by doing this empower one player, USA or MSTR,...obviously they not stupid. They can use a similar blockchain and create their own coin, and distribute it among them, lets say according to amount of gold they have at that time! They can always choose to play in their own sand box, and theres billions of them versus few hundred million of Bitcoin holders, what do you think?

MSTR has a massive incentive to issue new shares through either ATM or convert bonds when NAV premium is over 1. Proceeds from ATM or convert when MSTR is at a BTC NAV premium is accretive in BTC terms.
Thx for the Copium. I was thinking the stock would tank after the announcement, but instead it went up? QUESTION: Why is your MIC pointing away from you? My eyes are always drawn to it, as it seems to be an anomaly that needs adjusting.
are you saying that the issuance of new shares is that they want to split again before too long,? that wouldnt be dilutive... i dont think that is what its about, plus if they split 10 to 1 then you get 1/10 the btc per share
It's to get into the s and p 500. Need tons of outstanding shares for admission. But the way they are giving value for the dilution is by the ability to borrow money for free or close to it compared to the rate we would get. And are buying bitcoin with it.
Yes, this will allow for more atm, and convertible bonds which are all accretive in a Bitcoin per share way. Btw thanks for recommending Robin sayer to be a guest on his show 🙂 he reached out
Why not just continue to split the stock eventually to 10B and each split becomes accretive with more BTC per share rather than adding new shares even though they're getting more BTC per share too.
@@bitcoinnotcrypto Sorry, I'm just genuinely curious and don't know. I'm just wondering why they can't just continue to split 330M shares then continue to purchase BTC with each split still being accretive? Is there no other way to actually make each share backed by BTC regardless if it's by split or by dilution? Thank you.
@@mikethefilcan Splitting shares doesnt provide more money, it is only a technical action by corporations to reduce the stock price and increase the number of shares. In a stock split the "new shares" go the the existing shareholders and not new shareholders. So no new money flows to the company.

5:00 🕔 would be stock split gift of the century if a 1000 USD share price split to 10 would outcome with 1000 USD each of these 10 shares 😂 damn.. Merry X Mas 🎄 I appreciate your work! Dividends would be cool

Thank you for explaining that they needed to get this expanded share authorization to allow for future stock splits. Makes much more sense
We are going to the f’ing moon boys 🚀. See you all at a million 🎉
Clear explanation as always - simply and clearly spoken
I would vote yes for this request. Whatever flexibility they need to serve us MSTR shareholders I am for.
I’m all up for this 📈
Merry Christmas
Thank you for the informative videos . Look forward to them.
Merry Christmas.
Thank you man. That was a clear explanation for my chaotic mind.
To get into the s and p 500 there has to be a very very large amount of outstanding shares.
his room looks like he sold everything for bitcoin... relatable
Thanks mstr is going to be a great investment long term
Plebs dont understand how undervalued it is
It was good timing as it probably helped to push their stock price up today

Will it drop alot ? Im a holder but got in at 390 holding 244 shares
I appreciate this! Deff going to shrink my position though
Loved the first split, any going forward I will celebrate because where BTC is going
Agreed. That split was awesome and I'm looking forward to more
be careful the proposal ismnot a split is a dilution
@@lonchi07 directly it isn't either of those. It's the authorization to issue more shares in the future.
Next split would make me a 310 shares shareholder 😂 still a crab 🦀 😢😅
