I met pete back in 2014 as a 14 year old - he got my guitar backstage to be signed and let me backstage to meet Brian / let me play his guitar. He was absolutely lovely and I’ve never forgotten it.

  • @buffshepherd1540

He is the most guitar tech looking guitar tech I've ever seen.

Great interview! I witnessed Brian break a string at a Queen/Paul Rogers gig. The whole thing was very slick. Brian was at the end of the “ego ramp”, the first person to react was Roger, who glanced at Spike with a knowing look and between them they collaborated to fill the sound while Brian was equipped with a replacement guitar. For those that know the shows, it was at a crucial moment of “last horizon”. Within seconds he was back in place and the song was completed. Anyway, I was lucky enough to be leaning on the barrier at the front and I saw the bridge on of the broken string drop onto the floor. It stayed there for the rest of the show and at the end I asked one of the stewards to pick it up for me. I still have it!(very geeky I know😂). Pete was there in a flash and by the end of the song the red special was re strung and re tuned and back in the hands of Brian. Also for that show the regular bass player was ill so Neil Murray was drafted to do that one gig, he didn’t miss a note following being drafted in that afternoon! It was in Cardiff, I think in 2008.

Wow, so many intetesting stories, and what a cool story about hearing Adam Lambert through the walls of the soundproof room 😮

  • @darrenwells2277

We thank him for introducing Rufus to The Darkness... he is the perfect fit for the band!

  • @cerambyx-8

As a Queen fan this is a gem to watch.

  • @Davidhyde2022

This was one of the best interviews I seen in ages. Two people who love music and enjoy each other's company. Well done Pete and Justin. Pete needs to come back or have Brian tell stories about Pete have a feeling there could be a few funny ones,

  • @19TheChaosWarrior79

This could have been two hours long and I would have still said it should be longer. It's cool to see two people who are so down to earth despite the industry they are in. No egos or bragging rights just a good honest conversion.

So true about Adam, hearing that voice live is really astonishing

  • @NinStardust

Another truly lovely chat. These ones he does with the people he has a personal relationship in real life are so enriching. Big thanks to Pete for coming on!

That Les Paul necklace is awesome!

  • @Borester

That wasn't an interview, that just was two mates chatting away. Absolutely brilliant, funny and really interesting! 😊

had no idea who Justin Hawkins was until seeing the Queen tribute concert. Plan to check out his music soon. Have to say I am so impressed with this interview. Better listening skills than 99% of professional journalists and interviewers I have seen. Just watching him is great, no interruptions, you can see in his eyes and face he is responding to Pete and not formulating his next question before hearing what Pete is saying. No apparent ego of tryin to incorporate his own stories in the interview. Watched this interview because I love Queen yet now want to check out Justin's other interviews.

Thanks Justin and Pete, this was so much fun from beginning to the end. As a hardcore Queen fan I can never hear enough authentic stories outside the documentaries. Love and Respect ☮

  • @1471mosh

Justin, when you next talk to Pete get him to share the story about Eric Claptons AGA, it’s a classic 😉. Loved the interview, nice to see me old mate on the telly 😂

  • @yurivogensen5438

Great interview. It would be great if you could interview Brian himself.

  • @adams7405

That sound that Brian gets from his 9 AC30 is just glorious...I love the Queen 2 album and here different snippets every time I listen to it,especially Father To Son.I collect guitars and have my eye on the acoustic Freddie wrote Crazy Little Thing On,for the Red Special we are way into the millions.
