Hey, I’m an 81-yo grandma remembering the first time listening to this in the 70’s…laying in the living room floor between speakers with the lights out. Magical then and fond memories now.
Lost my 43 year old son and absolute best friend last year. I am getting re-acquainted with his favorite music in Pink Floyd and feeling his presence and understanding why he loved them so. God I miss him
Hey Bill. Tayvion here. I am the 6th son and lost the oldest brother last year. Just letting you know you're not alone and that you will see him again. Gods speed my friend.
Once upon a time a wise man once said "When your happy you enjoy the melody... But when your broken you understand the lyrics"..... This holds true to this day💯 Who’s here in 2024?
Hello there !!! Love the wisdom behind your comment !!! See you on the Dark Side of the Moon Dude !!! I'm in the Totality Zone listening to Floyd all day !!!❤☀ ☪ ✌
Me! 8th of April 24, waiting to see the dark side of the moon, and going back in my head to an unforgettable concert in Poitiers, Fce, about 50 years ago…
my father died yesterday in a cardiac atack, i was with him when that happens and it was an absolubtly live lesson , the day before he died i spend all the day with him and i dont regret any damn second , so when you are with somebody just remember him or her that you love it , my dad is a huge fan of pink floyd now i cannot stop to listen this beutiful song
Reyes, I am sorry to hear about your loss. Great words of wisdom on your part. Though traumatic now, in time you will be grateful you were with him the day he died. The same thing happened to my mother 5 years ago; cardiac arrest, but I was not there. It left a hollow feeling in my heart. Though there is nothing you or I could have done to alter the outcome, I am relieved to hear you spent his last days with him. Pink Floyd is timeless and your father's soul will live with you.
I have my Daddy to thank for making me listen to his music. He's gon but I still have these memories. He always said Pink Floyd was 20 years ahead of there time. That was in the 80-90's. Thank u, Daddy. Rip. I love n miss u so much. Oh, how I wish u was here!!!
You know, in the 70s it was all about music. Always met friends to experience that fantastic stuff together. Pink Floyd, Genesis, Led Zep, Queen, Beatles, Parsons, Supertramp.... Lying on the floor in the dark, discussing the compositions, the lyrics, the guitar solos, drums....everything. We felt the music. It was the main part of our lives.
@@adhhyirswamedutt1686 Yes. Miss it so much, it was so exciting! Anyway, never lost my interest in good music and i hope you can enjoy music too.... May you have many exciting days in your life! Greetings from Germany
Watching the eclipse from Akron, Ohio in the backyard with my husband and dog. Wishing peace and blessings flow to all of you beautiful souls gathered here now to view this celestial event.
The most beautiful 3 min. of my life, Made me feel small but connected to everything in the universe. Was in the path of totality, once in a lifetime experience! 🪐🤍🌒
Don't know what it is about Pink Floyd , but it can have me in tears in seconds. Not exactly sad tears or even happy tears, but like I am back in the arms of something I become disconnected from which is an integral part of my existence as human soul. My whole life swirls into a mix of past, present and future and I feel a profound deep gratitude and a feeling of everything is ok and will always be ok. Then I leave to get busy again doing life's chores / dramas to then forget all about this connection, just like how we forget a dream upon awakening.
As of this year 2023, this wonderful music is 50 yrs old!! When music was music and you sat with your friends peacefully smoked a couple of joints, had a couple of beers and just enjoyed life. No BS, no pronouns, no crap of today, when life was simpler and things weren't so messed up. Remember and teach your grandchildren that life wasn't always full of crap! Peace, love and caring ❤❤ always!!
I saw a youtube comment that was so beautiful, it made me teary-eyed. 🥺 "In 1972, as a teenager, I sat in a dark room, smoking a joint, listening to Pink Floyd on my headphones. Here I am, 50 years later, doing the exact same thing. I'm blessed to have lived during the time of Pink Floyd."
My Uncle, introduced pink Floyd to me in my teenage year's he gave me the history behind each song over a ten year period I thank him for making me a fan R.I.P. Malcolm Robinson SR.
Lyrics: ~verse 1~ Breathe, breathe in the air Don't be afraid to care Leave but don't leave me Look around and choose your own ground ~Chorus~ For long you live and high you fly And smiles you'll give and tears you cry and all you touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be ~verse 2~ Run, rabbit run Dig that hole, forget the sun And when at last the work is done Don't Sit down, it's time to dig another one ~chorus~ For long you live and high you fly But only if you ride the tide And balanced on the biggest wave You race towards an early grave Thanks I hope you all are safe and well! Also, excellent taste in music ; )
I have been listening to Pink Floyd since the age of 12 , I am now 53 and it is still my go to chill music!!!! Love to all who appreciate real musicians.
I gave been listening to Pink Floyd for 30 years, but not really listened. After my brother died and I started to head back into deep depression I brought this CD . ( lost the original ) Now I do listen , listen with my mind, I'm still depressed in my own dark space, but this is keeping me going.
I am sorry about your brother! I have lost both my parents and the only kin I have left is my brother and my 32 year old daughter. FLOYD helps me relax and unwind...... May God Bless you with peace, love and clarity.
I smoked a joint with my friend and listened to this when I was 16. It changed who I was and who I would become. Period. No joke. That day was a turning point.
I am 64 and I have been listening to Pink Floyd since I was 12. For 52 years, I have loved their music and the absolute raw truth in their lyrics. Time, Wish you were here, Money, all good advice and truth imo. May this find you well. Peace to all.
Я тоже с 12 ти лет слушаю Пинк Флойд. И люблю их до сих пор. Только английского не знаю и не понимаю о чем поют. Но это не главное. Мне нравится их музыка и как они поют!
I remember the point in my life when my father was playing Pink Floyd all the time and I couldn't get myself to like their music. Luckily I realised what a little stupid fuck I was back then.
Ha I was the exact same way. I can remember arguing with my dad because he would play it so much and I couldn't stand it when I was a kid. Crazy how much things have changed lol
haha same here, I was a little prick lsitening to rap, and couldn't like the rock gems my dad used to listen to. Today we would get together so well musically, I could've introduced him into some awesome bands too. Sadly he's gone for six years now. I miss him.
Just turned 30 my dad showed me them at 10 and I tend to pass it down pink Floyd will always be one of the greatest bands ever.... miss music like this... wish I could have been in my late teens at this time really do
Welcome to the rest of your life. It will NEVER leave you and you should absolutely be thankful for that! So much they've done is timeless... The Wall... If you haven't listened to the album, you must!!!
Thank you. My father’s funeral are going on right now. I live far away in another country and he asked me not to go back to assist to his funeral.. since he won t be there. I follow his last will. He love Pink Floyd work. So I am listening to is favorite music to celebrate his life And helping his soul to be in peace. I love you dad.
I feel that the beginning of this song captivates the chaos and confusion you experience when you're coming up during a mushroom trip and the rest is just the pure bliss you feel during the remainder of the trip.
I feel like Vincent went through the dark side of the Moon on his way home to be with the Lord 🙏. I love you Vincent King not a day doesn't go by that I don't think of you ❤️❤️
Congratulations !!! All of you great taste in music been listening to the floyd Since I was 18 now 65 still listening whenever I'm high eating 🍫 chocolaté bars.😁😁
All true Floyd fans remember vividly the day they bought this album and put it on the turntable... From the heatbeats and the screaming which leads to Breathe in the Air, we are simply immersed in a pivotal visionary moment in music. Simply unforgettable. 50 years later we still entranced by this tour de force par excellence. THE BEST ALBUM EVER. PERIOD! 😊
+camila' bom welcome to the wonderful world of Floyd. may I suggest Wish you Were Here. and of course The Wall in it's entirety. Most amazing artist ever. Shine On You Crazy Diamond!
I'm 62 and still love listening to this Album and all the other albums they did . Wish those times were here again !! Take care all who read this and best of luck , with what's happening in the world now. 🇬🇧
Javi Perez, explain, please, I have to know how that works. Alot people listened to this during sex. Everytime we would stop a friends house, if this was playing, don't come a knock'in....lol I personally prefer quiet, except for the beating of our hearts. Note: I am pure hetro....
I was laying on my bed when I first heard to the album! I can‘t even put in words what a big masterpiece this is!!!! I freaking love it, whoever sees this god bless y’all 🤍 definitely one of my top fav albums

Who’s with me here in November 2019 jamming to this timeless band?? Floyd is from another dimension. One that we can visit every time we hit play... Beautiful visual effects as well. 🔥
God, Why am i the only non stoner here whos been listening Pink Floyd for my entire life asking why the hell do you need to get high while listening to such good music?
Not in anyway i have ever heard of it. I'm pretty sure i would have already got high off music if i haven't already posted this comment. I'm trying to stay well neutral, its nothing against stoners or anything but i mean its aggravates me whenever someone really gets stoned to this song, its classic rock, all Pink Floyd now a days has turned into a band that only stoners listen to.
Skull Killington Lol is always had been especially back then everyone to acid to it lol it was considerd as acid bands lol they were also high when writing it everyone was lol
Imagine being able to take your listeners from every generation to a whole different dimension with your music.....Pink Floyd relates. Then now and forever, one of the most revolutionary bands to walk this planet.
Hi, i can see that you like the good music. I recommend you the next tribute to PINK FLOYD: ua-cam.com/video/Qfv3vELky3M/v-deo.html Do you agree that it is the best tribute to this band?

Dig that hole, forget the sun, And when at last the work is done Don't sit down it's time to dig another one. For long you live and high you fly But only if you ride the tide And balanced on the biggest wave You race towards an early grave. On The Run (Gilmour, Waters) 3: 32 "Live for today, gone tomorrow, that's me, HaHaHaaaaaa!" Pink Floyd Mason, Waters, Wright, Gilmour) 7: 06 The Dark Side of The Moon Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way. Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way. Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain. You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today. And then one day you find ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun. So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, Shorter of breath and one day closer to death. Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time. Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over, Thought I'd something more to say. Breathe (reprise) 7: 06 Home, home again. I like to be here when I can. When I come home cold and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire. Far away across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spells. The Great Gig in the Sky (Wright) 4: 44 "And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime." "If you can hear this whispering you are dying." "I never said I was frightened of dying." Money (Waters) 6: 32 Money, get away. Get a good job with good pay and you're okay. Money, it's a gas. Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash. New car, caviar, four star daydream, Think I'll buy me a football team. Money, get back. I'm all right Jack keep your hands off of my stack. Money, it's a hit. Don't give me that do goody good bullshit. I'm in the high-fidelity first class traveling set And I think I need a Lear jet. Money, it's a crime. Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie. Money, so they say Is the root of all evil today. But if you ask for a raise it's no surprise that they're giving none away. "HuHuh! I was in the right!" "Yes, absolutely in the right!" "I certainly was in the right!" "You was definitely in the right. That geezer was cruising for a bruising!" "Yeah!" "Why does anyone do anything?" "I don't know, I was really drunk at the time!" "I was just telling him, he couldn't get into number 2. He was asking why he wasn't coming up on freely, after I was yelling and screaming and telling him why he wasn't coming up on freely. It came as a heavy blow, but we sorted the matter out" Us and Them (Waters, Wright) 7: 40 Us, and them And after all we're only ordinary men. Me, and you. God only knows it's noz what we would choose to do. Forward he cried from the rear and the front rank died. And the general sat and the lines on the map moved from side to side. By Black and blue And who knows which is which and who is who. Up and down. But in the end it's only round and round. Haven't you heard it's a battle of words The poster bearer cried. Listen son, said the man with the gun There's room for you inside. "I mean, they're not gunna kill ya, so if you give 'em a quick short, sharp, shock, they won't do it again. Dig it? I mean he get off lightly, 'cos I would've given him a thrashing - I only hit him once! It was only a difference of opinion, but really... I mean good manners don't cost nothing do they, eh?" Down and out It can't be helped but there's a lot of it about. With, without. And who'll deny it's what the fighting's all about? Out of the way, it's a busy day I've got things on my mind. For the want of the price of tea and a slice The old man died. Brain Damage (Waters) 3: 50 The lunatic is on the grass. The lunatic is on the grass. Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs. Got to keep the loonies on the path. The lunatic is in the hall. The lunatics are in my hall. The paper holds their folded faces to the floor And every day the paper boy brings more. And if the dam breaks open many years too soon And if there is no room upon the hill And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too I'll see you on the dark side of the moon. The lunatic is in my head. The lunatic is in my head You raise the blade, you make the change You re-arrange me 'til I'm sane. You lock the door And throw away the key There's someone in my head but it's not me. And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear You shout and no one seems to hear. And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes I'll see you on the dark side of the moon. "I can't think of anything to say except... I think it's marvelous! HaHaHa!" Eclipse (Waters) 2: 04 All that you touch All that you see All that you taste All you feel. All that you love All that you hate All you distrust All you save. All that you give All that you deal All that you buy, beg, borrow or steal. All you create All you destroy All that you do All that you say. All that you eat And everyone you meet All that you slight And everyone you fight. All that is now All that is gone All that's to come and everything under the sun is in tune but the sun is eclipsed by the moon. "There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark."
Even tho I will die one day, my love for music will never go away. I will show these awesome songs to my family in the future and they will be able to remember me by my spirit for music.🙂
WE all have to die, that is the part of living. But before you touch the internal dust, embrace Pink Floyd's music, and take it with you. it's a must....
Pink Floyd's music will live forever! They are never old but are more concurrent with whatever is going on in the contemporary world! Thank you for sharing this one! First heard Floyd in the mid 70s..... This music has been part of my life every day since then. Had many good times with headphones on and the world closed out. I still do the same now that I'm in my 50s. Thanks guys and never forget Syd Barrett......

That is my favorite album. I have Pink Floyd’s greatest hits on a record player. My first song from Pink Floyd is dark side of the Moon comfortably. Numb learning to fly and then how I wish you were here is also one of my favorite songs to hear. God bless you all Pink Floyd fans out there stay peace.✌️✌️🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🍻🍻🍻
This brings me back to the most peaceful and contemplative moments of my life. Every time I listen, I can't help but to mellow, and smile. And I haven't done any kind of drugs in decades! I'm 65 yrs old now, and feel invigorated each time I hear the Dark Side. There'll never be any music so inspirational again! With me, it has its own history, and always will.
Floyd is like a time machine to me. Its the kind of music you remember where you were the first time you heard it; which for me, a lot of it anyway, was overseas in "West Pac" and Nam.
I was born in 1964, and had a brother 6 years older than me. So I hung out with people a lot older than me. Needless to say they listened to hard rock. Plus my brother was in a hard rock band, and everyone thought I was 17 when I was really 13, so listening to Pink Floyd while under the influence of either LSD or Shrooms was a must followed by weed and alcohol. It was AWESOME, like being invaded by things not of this world. Being up in the mountains with no lights except for the moon and stars, making trails with your cigarette, hands, and sparklers (4th of July). Pink Floyd blaring from everyone's speakers (there was always at least 5 or 6 cars full of people (friends). I did all of my drug and alcohol use between the ages of 13 and 17yrs old. I guess I got burned out lol. 🕐🕔 🙇😪 I still love Pink Floyd along with Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Guns and Roses, The Doors etc. Basically all Rock from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. And I must confess my son who is 32 yrs old listens to Rock and some rap. He even got me to like some of Emenem. I even liked the movie " 8 Mile" , with Marshall Mather aka Èmenem and Brittany Murphy.
Patricia Cunningham ,,, those times as you were growing up were so amazing, thinking they would never end, i was wrong. Born in 1955, i was old enough to experience the 60's tho still young I was older , seen and hung out with the older ones myself they took me in. Great times.
To whoever is listening to this song now, wherever you are.... Sending you love, peace, healing and all good wishes. May your life be good
Thankyou,same to you mate
And to you best wishes.

You as well brother

Don't know what it is about Pink Floyd , but it can have me in tears in seconds. Not exactly sad tears or even happy tears, but like I am back in the arms of something I become disconnected from which is an integral part of my existence as human soul. My whole life swirls into a mix of past, present and future and I feel a profound deep gratitude and a feeling of everything is ok and will always be ok. Then I leave to get busy again doing life's chores / dramas to then forget all about this connection, just like how we forget a dream upon awakening.
that very well explained.. likewise

So so beautifully said 🤍
I, and I suspect many others are in the same boat. Carry on my wayword son(Kansas).

Crap was always there... Cherish that you had a life in which you did not experience it:)
You didn't have pronouns 50 years ago?
Amen. I love this so much! I'm in my 30s but my father always told me how wonderful this band was. Whenever I listen to it, I think of him.
@@flowers.forever6781yes, but one had no permission to be their true selves and bigots liked it that way.
I saw a youtube comment that was so beautiful, it made me teary-eyed. 🥺
"In 1972, as a teenager, I sat in a dark room, smoking a joint, listening to Pink Floyd on my headphones. Here I am, 50 years later, doing the exact same thing. I'm blessed to have lived during the time of Pink Floyd."

Lyrics:
~verse 1~
Breathe, breathe in the air
Don't be afraid to care
Leave but don't leave me
Look around and choose your own ground
~Chorus~
For long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you cry and all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be
~verse 2~
Run, rabbit run
Dig that hole, forget the sun
And when at last the work is done
Don't Sit down, it's time to dig another one
~chorus~
For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave
Thanks I hope you all are safe and well! Also, excellent taste in music ; )

After my brother died and I started to head back into deep depression I brought this CD . ( lost the original )

God, Why am i the only non stoner here whos been listening Pink Floyd for my entire life asking why the hell do you need to get high while listening to such good music?
People can get high listening to any music.

On The Run
(Gilmour, Waters) 3: 32
"Live for today, gone tomorrow, that's me, HaHaHaaaaaa!"
Pink Floyd
Mason, Waters, Wright, Gilmour) 7: 06
The Dark Side of The Moon
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.
Breathe (reprise)
7: 06
Home, home again.
I like to be here when I can.
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire.
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.
The Great Gig in the Sky
(Wright) 4: 44
"And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime."
"If you can hear this whispering you are dying."
"I never said I was frightened of dying."
Money
(Waters) 6: 32
Money, get away.
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay.
Money, it's a gas.
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team.
Money, get back.
I'm all right Jack keep your hands off of my stack.
Money, it's a hit.
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit.
I'm in the high-fidelity first class traveling set
And I think I need a Lear jet.
Money, it's a crime.
Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie.
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today.
But if you ask for a raise it's no surprise that they're
giving none away.
"HuHuh! I was in the right!"
"Yes, absolutely in the right!"
"I certainly was in the right!"
"You was definitely in the right. That geezer was cruising for a
bruising!"
"Yeah!"
"Why does anyone do anything?"
"I don't know, I was really drunk at the time!"
"I was just telling him, he couldn't get into number 2. He was asking
why he wasn't coming up on freely, after I was yelling and
screaming and telling him why he wasn't coming up on freely.
It came as a heavy blow, but we sorted the matter out"
Us and Them
(Waters, Wright) 7: 40
Us, and them
And after all we're only ordinary men.
Me, and you.
God only knows it's noz what we would choose to do.
Forward he cried from the rear
and the front rank died.
And the general sat and the lines on the map
moved from side to side. By
Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who.
Up and down.
But in the end it's only round and round.
Haven't you heard it's a battle of words
The poster bearer cried.
Listen son, said the man with the gun
There's room for you inside.
"I mean, they're not gunna kill ya, so if you give 'em a quick short,
sharp, shock, they won't do it again. Dig it? I mean he get off
lightly, 'cos I would've given him a thrashing - I only hit him once!
It was only a difference of opinion, but really... I mean good manners
don't cost nothing do they, eh?"
Down and out
It can't be helped but there's a lot of it about.
With, without.
And who'll deny it's what the fighting's all about?
Out of the way, it's a busy day
I've got things on my mind.
For the want of the price of tea and a slice
The old man died.
Brain Damage
(Waters) 3: 50
The lunatic is on the grass.
The lunatic is on the grass.
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs.
Got to keep the loonies on the path.
The lunatic is in the hall.
The lunatics are in my hall.
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
The lunatic is in my head.
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'til I'm sane.
You lock the door
And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
"I can't think of anything to say except...
I think it's marvelous! HaHaHa!"

Rebecca Lori they've probably heard a cover unfortunately
That makes me depressed!
Rebecca Lori Devem ouvir Anita.
Rebecca Lori ,you right
Rebecca Lori I disliked because it's not the name of the song.
I bought this album at 17 - It sounds just as amazing 44 years later. True musical genius is ageless.
My children have been instructed that this album is to be played in a loop throughout my funeral
And mine , peace..
Good idea 👍🏼
❤😂😂😂
Floyd is like a time machine to me. Its the kind of music you remember where you were the first time you heard it; which for me, a lot of it anyway, was overseas in "West Pac" and Nam.
+Tom Gray True that my friend ! :)
+Tom Gray I agree with you 100%. For example, I remember distinctly hearing "On An Island" by Dave Gilmour in Lanzerote.
+Tom Gray when you in nam i live there now
Good Morning, I was mostly off the coast, but spent time in the north at Da Nang and Cua Viet. Thank you for asking.
i like that music ,thank you for reply.
no need Elon for going to space, Pink Floyd has already been doing it for years.
saygın A That’s absolutely true mate :)
Remember, Joseph Joestar sent Kars to space 80 years before Elon Musk.
Completely agreed!
Watching the Sun being eclipsed by the Moon! 🌙 on April 8th, 2024 & of course listening to this tune! 😅
Patricia Cunningham wish you were here
