Wow. So that ej&e 654 ended up in Georgia. Saw that engine all the time back in the day when I used to live near that railroad. Btw, it’s pronounced “El-Jin” lol
Passenger cars are former Long Island P72 commuter coaches acquired from the Central New York Chapter of the NRHS. Don't know anything about the caboose though. How they got there was when a Lavonia Businessman acquired the cars for a Mardi Gras (gambling) Express that never took off because the city stopped it before it was even able to get off the ground. They used to sit where they keep their locomotives occasionally after a day's work before being moved to where they are now on a storage track next to Twin Branch Road.
I've only heard about the Mardi Gras train concept mostly through word of mouth from my dad. (Information about the businessman or his train on the internet is scarce to impossible to find anything about).
No those would be the former Erie Lackawanna EMU's that had their motor and pantographs removed and wear the rusted blue paint. The faded purple and yellow coaches are ex LIRR P72's acquired for a Business man's failed Mardi Gras Express Gambling Train scheme.
another great video , thanks , its aways great to see old loco,s still running we have quite alot here in the uk that are from the early 60,s still giving good service , true spirit as always
Well done getting NS 1067, 8104 and everything else with so much history! It’s both fascinating and sad seeing old units & vehicles sitting and rusting away like that, but I’m glad some of those units are still being used right now. I remember getting NS 1067 trailing on 279 in November last year with a common BNSF GEVO, and I still remember the encounter fondly.
Hello! I live in Carnesville Georgia, a city right beside Lavonia, Hartwell operates all of their locomotives except 454. 454 has been sitting in Air Line as long as I have been alive. Also, 136 is still in use of HRT, it has been sitting for a while because of (my guess) the cost to operate it. 136 is still functional and breathing, and she will probably return to service sometime soon. A little fact about 136 is that she was involved in a collision with a railcar, her entire back half was ripped apart and replaced with locomotive parts from the Georgia Northeastern Railroad.
Bro, you have some of the best catches and the funniest railfaning videos ive ever seen, keep up the great work man. God bless you, your family, and your friends.
been railfanning for a couple years now and i still havent caught any NS heritage, not even a high hood, only bonnets and UP heritage, ive been FOAMING at the mouth for the conrail or NPR unit, but no luck, sweet catches man!
@@LocoPro when leaving Royston toward toccoa the is a small road the parallels to the truck very closely for about a mile. You can get good close up photos and videos from there. In canon where the 4 way flashing yellow lights are there is a railroad crossing near that that has a nice sweeping curve to it. In royston going towards Elberton there is CSX Boxcar on a flat car for some reason, it’s been on the flat car for about a year
Great video, but man, it sucks that you didn't see Hartwell moving. Ive had the best of luck with them on Tuesdays and Thursdays leaving from Toccoa & going to Bowersville (Rose Acres). But yes, be there by 8-10am or itll be harder to find them. Once again, great video!
That was one epic (educational, entertaining, and funny) video seeing heritage units and units of the heritage. As always, your videos never disappoint! (P.S. Where’s the YT Shorts videos?)

Hey, just to let you know, I'll be railfanning at Inman Yard tomorrow late morning. Will I see you there?
What time?
@@LocoPro most likely between 11 and noon.
Heritage Units are Units with Heritage
I agree, but there’s more heritage on a 60 year old unit than a ACe with an old scheme. 😂
This makes up for fumbled bags right?
I would hope so. 😂
6:18 I seen 9772 when I was in Brookhaven
