I totally agree with this viewpoint. I have an A7IV and love it, I would only be tempted to replace it if there is a significant bump up in the resolution - 44 mp and I will be first in line!
It will almost certainly have the new AI chip, making it a more competitive camera. Sony needs a competitive camera for new buyers more than it needs an amazing camera to push A74 users to upgrade.
totally disagree. The A7IV is getting old. The a6700 technically is a better camera. It most likely will have the technology from the A7RV and beyond .
Give me new screen, better IBIS, AI chip, better EVF, less crop in 4k 60, 4k 120 with crop, better battery life, another custom button on the body, less rolling shutter - and I am sold.
you ask for a better viewfinder? HAAAAAAH, even the A9 and A1/A1II's stacked sensors arent' able to keep the resolution above 480p, why would you want a 1080p viewfinder if it's going down to 340p when the camera has to do anything? the EVF on the 10 year old A77II is better, it is only 540p, but it stays 540p even on maximum effort. The A7IV's EVF goes from 720p to 340p even when it has to think where to peak what's in focus, making manual focus a horrible experience.
conservative scenario is terrible. It's not like it's the a1 ii where it's already so good. I'm hoping for 15fps - 20fps shooting, higher readout speed, A7RV A1 ii flip out screen, ai chips for sure, better video codecs. The competition is crushing the a7iv at this point, 10fps is just so slow compared to competitors even if it's 33mp vs 24mp. I doubt we'll get 44mp sensor though
The 44 MP option seems unrealistic to me. It would cannibalize the A7R V. You could even say it is poor man's A1 II. On the other hand, I would never upgrade to the conservative version with the same sensor and slightly better autofocus. The autofocus of the A7 IV is already pretty good.
My guess/love to get would be: - 33MP - 12 - 15 fps (would make a lot of sense, since the entry level FF users love to use third party lenses and they can't go faster than 15 fps anyway) - 8 stops IBIS - AI chip - Improved autofocus (that has become a given with every new camera) - Improved EVF - 5 AXIS flip screen. Price: €2.600 - €2.900
Sony cannibilizes everything, the a7IV was supposed to be the poor man’s A1. I could see Sony absolutely throwing everything at it. They need to make some big improvements to stay ahead of the competition
It wouldn't make sense to only upgrade the autofocus and keep the same sensor because the A7CII is exactly that. Better autofocus, same sensor, just in a smaller body. Releasing the A7V as a A7CII in a bigger body would be idiotic on their part. (So let's hope they don't do that lol)
I'd be fine if the MP count was the same for the A7IV, but the issue with the sensor is just that it's so slow and the crop in 4K/60. That's the main complaint with that camera. With the A1 II, it wasn't sexy, but there isn't any big need for more megapixels than 50, it shoots fast enough, etc. With the A7IV, it was just too slow and kind of limiting with the 4K/60 crop. Outside of that, it's kind of a perfect everyday camera. I'm not sure that I'd love 44 MPs to be honest. The megapixels aren't as big of a deal beyond 33.
I have two a 7IV's. I thought that I was going to be taking more 4K video but I don't. I love the video photo switch under the mode dial. And I love the programmable exposure compensation dial that I can program to manual ISO when I am in M mode. And I love the slightly more megapixels than my previous camera for when I need to crop in. So I agree. Very good very solid camera.
A lot more goes into readout speed than resolution. For example, the A1 II reads out wayyyy faster than the A7IV despite having 17 more megapixels. I'd think that would be obvious. @@-MrEVIL-
Any rumors on the APSC front? A6900? APSC is still a big seller since its a nice entry point for hobbyists and the glass is smaller and cheaper. The A6700 was high on this years sales charts from what I saw.
Let's be realistic here, all that 33MP sensor needs Is a faster readout for 4K60 FF and lower rolling shutter. It will not get close to any other much better/more specialized camera Sony makes. Hoping for 44MP, 8K etc in a base model that has a hard time to cool 4K30 in it's current form is just not probable. What I think most likely is again combination of features/upgrades, no one major one, but more of what's available. So partially stacked 33MP (like 2x speed makes it work), 4K60 FF, better VF (but not flagship), hopefully the modern LCD, refined AF + the AI chip, and some video features, that's it. No magic for the still 'basic' model, but overall solid upgrade on many fronts and huge jump from A7iii.
A1 II is a partially stacked sensor (it's not fully stacked, otherwise it's EVF and readout speeds would be much higher but evf still drops to VGA from Full HD if the camera feels a single button being pressed)
@@kingghidorah8106 These 2 things are not directly causing one another - the sensor is of course fully stacked and the EVF behavior is not caused by any partiality, but most likely by some other processing limitation 'on the way'.
@@PetrKlapper every technician says that "sony cameras reduce viewfinder resolution during af-c/ibis/shutter/focus peaking because the sensor has a low readout so a1 and a9 camera models with stacked sensors won't have this issue", yet they do have it. Care explaining why the EVF on the 10 year old A77II or A99II stay 480p during af-c, IBIS and 12fps despite having just a BIONZ chip instead of the BIONZ XR cpu that A9III and A1II have? And I believe they have not one, but two of them plus AI assist. The A9III and A1 have the same 1080p viewfinder and yet the resolution drops to 320p, say, LOWER than the 10 year old ILCA SLT cameras that have to put all their raw performance onto high density pixel sensors and higher mechanical burst rates that of course are also casted at higher bit rate since a99ii can perform 11.5 fps lossless uncompressed raw while a9iii can only do 120 on lossy compressed and a1 can only do 20fps in anything higher than compressed 12 bit raw.
@@PetrKlapper you don't care, but you should. The highly advanced cameras that Sony makes (and prices 2K more than they actually worth, poor sony artisans can't buy their third G Master prime tele in a year) should not fall behind the other brands in term of workflow performance. Because these bottlenecks are pretty fundamental. It is not like say a 1080p viewfinder dropping to 720p, but rather below 10 year old viewfinders; or shooting 30fps lossy raw or below instead of "around 20fps or less on anything above uncompressed raw, which is basically JPEG plus".
Heres the thing.. I have an A7iv and the 200-600G lens. I love the lens so I will sell the A7iv and get the A7v if the sensor is upgraded to at least partially stacked. Otherwise I will sell the lens too and and switch to Nikon.

i doubt they're going to update the fx as fast as their alpha series. They dont usually upgrade their cine line as frequently because it's targeted towards a different market.
I keep asking since he posted that initial FX9 rumor video but no info at all. In the latest FAQ he said there’s a low in the Chinese market so the fx9 got postponed but nothing else so far. I’m really hoping to get some new info in the next video.
a1ii fills that role. sony markets their cameras differently than canon and nikon. their flagships, the r1 and z9 are more of a fast action camera made for shooting sports, while sony created the a1 series to be strictly a hybrid jack of all trades. i think the a9iii should be compared to r1 and z9 instead of a1ii because thats sony's fast action competitor
Id rather keep 33mp but get a faster readout. Also 4k60 oversampled full frame and 4k120 cropped seems reasonable. A9iii body. More than 10 fps pics? 10 is fine maybe they give us 15. Of course new ai stuff as well. I feel like this would be a great upgrade over the A7iv (which i own) and would love to see these implemented in the next generation A7V. Id 100% pay 2400$ for these specs no questions asked
A7V Question for techies: Can the 33mp sensor be configured to output fast enough to reduce rolling shutter? Achieve 15 fps? And shoot 60 fps in 4K with little to no crop? If not, it would fail to match the Nikon Z6III, Canon R6II and upcoming R6III. For Sony to compete it appears this would leave them with the new 44mp sensor for the a7V if they were to leapfrog the competition. Thoughts?
If your you are right about the 44mp sensor, they are definitely raising the price quite a bit. $2.8-$3.2k for sure. Not sure they will want to leave the low $2k range with their entry level full frame.
I switched from the A7iv to a used A1 only because of random AF for sports. A stacked sensor is required to solve this issue. It will allow precapture and will be able to compete with the R6iii. With 33 MP, I may downgrade to get the screen tilting in vertical position. With lower sensor specs, I can’t see me buying Sony gear new before next generation.
Nikon already has partial stacked sensor high fps, Canon rumors says r6 going stacked and my company Sony the one who invented stack sensors is still hanging on to rolling shutters. Makes no sense. They're still hanging on to 10 frames. A second makes no sense
It would be best to stay with the same MPixels so it can have a faster readout, less rolling shutter effect & no crop for 4K60 or better. Leave the larger MPixel sensors for the current/newer models in the A7R, A9 & A1 series. 12MP for mixed use still/video is too low for many stills, so we need to compromise somewhere in the middle. The main update will probably be adding the AI AF, improve LCD & reduce power usage (lower heat).
Sony went from being ahead in sensor tech to being behind. The Z6III has a stacked sensor. Canon has the R5mii which is 45MP and decent sensor readout making it comparable to the A1II for $2200 less. The Canon R6III is rumored to have the R3 sensor which is fully stacked. Not sure how Sony competes if they use the same sensor.
I was hoping for a stacked sensor. It doesn't seem like that will happen. I'm guessing the A7R VI will get one as a direct competitor to the Canon R5 II, but that's sounding like a late 2025 release.
Dont Sony nearly always use a sensor for at least two generations before updating? So a 44mp sensor seems unlikely. Also 20fps sounds too much competition for the A1ii to be likely. Maybe 15fps? But A9iii body with the multi tilt screen must be likely after how popular these have proved. That alone would get a lot of upgrades. BTW I think the A1ii is more popular than you think. I spoke to the main dealer in the UK today about my pre order and heard their first 3 batches of A1ii have already pre-sold - so sounds rather popular
It seems that currently except for some utility functionality there's not much to be added to the cameras. It's all just small incremental improvements, just like smartphones. There was a HUGE jump between A7II and III, and later A7IV improved on many things that A7III was lacking, but these were already mostly annoyances or things like eye AF in video. From now on what can they improve? Better ergonomics, screen, AF, more ports, faster readout... Which were already almost perfect for such an all-round camera! But that's all nice to have. If you MUST have 4k 60fps you would have already bought another camera. If you must have 15 FPS photos you would have already bought another camera. And so on and so on. Of course, AF will be better, but still depends on what one is shooting, in a studio environment or on-site video recordings I personally had a 99% hit rate so I don't need it to be any better. And also they cannot do anything that will cannibalize their other lines. Why would I need more battery life? I already have 4 batteries and they last me for nobody knows how much because I've never had a situation where that wasn't enough, even for 12h shooting days. Even if - how much -could they improve it? 10%? Better just go and buy 2 more batteries!
I hope they introduce a new processor that will allow for more throughput as it looks like the current processor’s throughput is limiting the cameras to 8k30p.
I just want an upgrade in IBIS, can be increased just by 1.5 EV (so from 5 to 6.5) Also worth to mention pre-capture (in RAW format!) even at 10-15 fps, I'd appreciate any number in entry level camera. AI autofocus features will be of course there, so I don't even need to write that. That's all.
Andrea, nice update on the A7V, when i bought my A7IV just 3 yrs ago this month i paid $3299 , if the new A7V is only $3500 that is a very good price if that is what it ends up selling for, these are Canadian dollars i am talking about, right now here the A7IV is priced down to $2800 by Sony Canada, if the new A7V comes with the new bigger sensor and all the things you listed, take my money I will upgrade and sell the A7IV and probably my A77 MK2 which is an awesome camera that i still get lots of use from it and yes it does 20fps easily at 24 megapixels raw no problem, I will be sad to see it go, if the new camera is going to be that good, I will buy it and not upgrade again for at least 5 to 6 years 👍
The bold specs camera has no recent camera to compete against except for the a1 II. Unless against the old Canon R5. Of cource this could be somewhat competeing with the Nikon 45Mpix Cameras sitting between the fast ones and Z7II
Sony has no direct competitor for the Canon R5 II. The A1 II is $2200 USD more than the R5 II. The A7R5 does not supply the same performance in FPS, rolling shutter, and video. I own the R5 II and owned the A7R5. I think Sony will pursue the bolder approach and shake up the market. They've heard to disappointment with the A1 II and know the performance of the R5 II.
Just joking aside, this camera will put Canon, Nikon and Lumix out of business. As popular as the A74 is, the A7V will blow the doors off Sony's warehouse.
At this point, I just can't see how they could possibly mess this up, at worst it should be an exceptional camere, with somewhat minor but meaningfull improvements in large quantity!
I wish Sony would update the 24-105mm f/4 lens to be lighter and more compact, like what Fuji did with the 16-55mm f/2.8. Then, the A7 V paired with a 24-105mm f/4 II would make a fantastic walkaround setup. That's the update they need
Fingers crossed for the bold move, Andrea! 😊 44 MP would even more distinguish that camera from Nikon. The processors are ready for it. And fill a gap in the Market that formerly was the stronghold of the A7rii-iii and the excellent Nikon Z7. I guess Nikon will never come back to bring out a mark III on that regard because they want to sell the Z8. On the other hand the 24 MP sensor of the Z6 are just not enough, stack it the one way or the other... It's great that they get rid off the shitty viewfinder of the MK iv in both scenarios. The viewfinder from the ARiv is very good. They should also include the 1,44 M dots screen, too.
The logic for the conservative scenario does not match. If you say it will have the same sensors and CPU from A7iv, how would it be possible to have 4k60p no crop then? Sony knows that in order to sell their new camera for sure there needs to be 4k60p no crop (reading the full sensors, like r6 ii and z6iii) and 15+ fps electronic shutter stills. In order to have it they need either stacked sensor or more CPU power and better heat distribition. This is the only way it can be called a "new" model. Otherwise it is simply A7iv with an updated body and EVF - it is a joke :)
I am an s1r user, this famos camera is too heavy, so i am looking to something about the weicht of a a7Iv or a7r5. About the mb: 33 MB is absoluter fine for me, more is not nessacary. So it could be a new lumix s1 x or the new a7v. If you are right and the new display is as good as you Belize, than it could be a very interesting alternative. Thanks a lot, looking forward Klaus
they need to make leaps for the a7V. They cant just release a large-body version of the a7Cii. Im predicting 20fps at least, because it wouldn’t compete with the a9 series anymore like it would’ve before the a9iii came out
Based on the a1 mk ii, they keep the original sensor and deck it out with all new stuff around it. If that’s the trend, I’d hold out for the lumix S1H II and drop Sony on my personal system and just used Sonys for the production company
Got the a7IV for pro uses and I really don't want or need 44MP. 33MP is a sweet spot. Better colors (when opening raw on LR) and a better SCREEN (on every sony camera) would be nice ! Less rolling shutter would be great too. The electronic shutter is barely usable on the a7IV :( AI AF, why not, but it's already very good.
mas mpx seria un error, para eso están las a7r, 44mpx es exagerado, mas peso pero no significa mas calidad, al contrario, mejor 24mpx y que alcance 4k 60fps sensor completo
They have to increase the sensor speed just because of the competition even if it is useless for most users. Same sensor, better AF, better viewfinder, better display and better WiFi would be an instabuy.
Increasing the sensor speed is useless for most users? I guess if you’re a complete amateur perhaps… But for us professionals, we can’t get enough speed and we can’t get enough dynamic range!
@ there are a tons of professionals who do not care about speed. Why do you need speed in the studio, landscape, any still photography? Fast sensors often have more problems with dynamic range. And not to forget: professionals are a minority especially for entry level camera like the A7.
I highly doubt Sony will drop an 8k 30, 4k 120, 44mp and 20fps still shooting sensor into an updated A7V body... That would kill the Alpha 1 Mark II and now you have a ton of Sony customers, yet again, who are upset that they spent $6500 when they could've gotten an ALMOST identical camera (minus pre-capture and a stacked sensor) for half the price. If Sony puts the 44mp sensor with all of these specs in the A7V, hopefully they announce a firmware update for 8k 60fps and additional features to warrant the price tag. - This is me speaking as a current Alpha 1 user. Very disappointed in how Sony has handled the last 3 years of feature updates and release when I spent so much money on their "flagship." Sony... overbuild the camera and chips to allow for substantial updates that keep you high paying customers happy. As always, thank you very much for the video Andrea Pizzini!!
No not 44mpx, Sony has always keep a sensor for two years, they will put the 44mpx when the A7r will have a new more defined sensor, the A7v will keep the same 33mpx sensor with a faster burst and 4k without crop which is already very good, let's not forget it is a high resolution sensor
for me to be honest all i need in the a7v is a better screen which you didn't mention much about i would love for it to be fully articulation but most importantly i would love for it be in a 2 million don't resolution spot as the current a74 screen really sucks other than that for anything else would be a welcomed extras
Hi Andrea, will any medium-format camera that is a definite answer to photography science be available in 2025? These camera companies are like children playing with toys, producing many toys for years, almost all of which are useless. I look forward to seeing a camera with at least a seventeen-point dynamic range. You guys(photographers) should encourage that. Thank you.
It always amuses me when people say “better rolling shutter“… We all know, of course, that they mean less rolling shutter. Us video people are waiting for the FX4 thank you!
It’s all about incremental upgrades these days. Look at the A1ii and the iPhone 16. I’m afraid that the A7v will be in the same vein and that I’ll keep my A7iv.
The answer is always better dynamic range for photography and more features on video for videographers. So, as the main chips are the same all the other changes are just facelifts. The autofocus is already nice not only on the A7iv but even on A7iii. I don t understand the reason to upgrade an A7iii to A7v for 2k $ difference. A6700 has already better video specs from A7iii with no competitor at this price. Then we have the megapixels conversation. Is anyone out there who opened a photo on 24 or 33 MP and had an issue with this? Do you need a 44Mp sensor for what? Do you need this as a reasonable excuse to buy a new camera, too feel better with yourself to spend 3k on this? or do you need it because will it help you on photography or video? more megapixels with the same technology means worse Dynamic range and at this line of hybrid cameras there is no need of 8k video at all. Conclusion of my pov is that we need better dynamic range on low light, better autofocus on low light, better software on wifi connection with Smartphone (stable and fast connection) and 4k 120p, 6k 60p less jelly effect.
Like you mentioned ..I vote for scenario 2!..I hope they really bump up the FPS!..on this A7V!..the body be should be the same from the A93 and the A1II..that should be the standard on the A7 bodies going forward, the same as the flip/tilt screen...it only makes sense and to keep the continuiety of all the lines... if this gets a bump to 20FPS that means as a A7R5 shooter..there is a chance that the A7R6 will get 20 as well...10FPS is a joke in the industry and Sony should realize this...its bad enough its been 3 iterations of the R and A7 line with 10FPS!!..its really time for Sony to change this..

Will it overheat and shut down when shooting video like the IV does? If it does, it's a no-go for me. I sold my IV because of this problem.
Will it be launched with a new 24-105 mm f4 GII as a combo?
The 44 MP option seems unrealistic to me. It would cannibalize the A7R V. You could even say it is poor man's A1 II. On the other hand, I would never upgrade to the conservative version with the same sensor and slightly better autofocus. The autofocus of the A7 IV is already pretty good.

It wouldn't make sense to only upgrade the autofocus and keep the same sensor because the A7CII is exactly that. Better autofocus, same sensor, just in a smaller body. Releasing the A7V as a A7CII in a bigger body would be idiotic on their part. (So let's hope they don't do that lol)
finally it will be my first fullframe camera. Been shooting events using a6000 for 11 years
I'd be fine if the MP count was the same for the A7IV, but the issue with the sensor is just that it's so slow and the crop in 4K/60.
It's slower because of the mp count
Has to read 7k, cant bin
Higher res would allow binning thus better rolling shutter
A lot more goes into readout speed than resolution. For example, the A1 II reads out wayyyy faster than the A7IV despite having 17 more megapixels. I'd think that would be obvious. @@-MrEVIL-

Any rumors on the APSC front? A6900? APSC is still a big seller since its a nice entry point for hobbyists and the glass is smaller and cheaper. The A6700 was high on this years sales charts from what I saw.
They should make more G primes like the 15/1.4 to go along that
Let's be realistic here, all that 33MP sensor needs Is a faster readout for 4K60 FF and lower rolling shutter.
@kingghidorah8106 Don't care ;)
You just assume there's only one explanation while there could be other bottlenecks between the start and finish.
It is not like say a 1080p viewfinder dropping to 720p, but rather below 10 year old viewfinders; or shooting 30fps lossy raw or below instead of "around 20fps or less on anything above uncompressed raw, which is basically JPEG plus".
as A7IIIRa owner , new sensor in A7V will be great motivation to switch to new body
Heres the thing.. I have an A7iv and the 200-600G lens. I love the lens so I will sell the A7iv and get the A7v if the sensor is upgraded to at least partially stacked. Otherwise I will sell the lens too and and switch to Nikon.

@obryn Einstein here just taught me that only people who don't take photos or videos sell/switch cameras.

i doubt they're going to update the fx as fast as their alpha series. They dont usually upgrade their cine line as frequently because it's targeted towards a different market.

Sony should Make a competing model to The Nikon Z8 and Canon R5ii
never the competitor with the cameras you named! not for 2000-2500 $
a1ii fills that role. sony markets their cameras differently than canon and nikon. their flagships, the r1 and z9 are more of a fast action camera made for shooting sports, while sony created the a1 series to be strictly a hybrid jack of all trades. i think the a9iii should be compared to r1 and z9 instead of a1ii because thats sony's fast action competitor
What abou the Sony a7SIV it should be released before the A7V. It's been a while
probably their next move is shuting it down the A7s series in order to make and sell the new FX4/FX3II
if they have the second case scenario, then what is the point of the a1
Id rather keep 33mp but get a faster readout.
I just bought the a7iv from Amazon about 2 weeks ago. Should I return it and hold out for the a7v? I don't mind paying the additional money. Thoughts?
Yes you should return it if you're not going to take any pictures for the next 2-4months.
Thanks, I have an a6400 to keep me busy with while I wait.
As long as it has the flip and swivel screen, it's pretty much going to be a pre-order for me.

As a graphic designer I’ve still been using the original a7. Maybe it’s time to upgrade finally, to IV after V is released?
A7V Question for techies: Can the 33mp sensor be configured to output fast enough to reduce rolling shutter? Achieve 15 fps? And shoot 60 fps in 4K with little to no crop? If not, it would fail to match the Nikon Z6III, Canon R6II and upcoming R6III.
For Sony to compete it appears this would leave them with the new 44mp sensor for the a7V if they were to leapfrog the competition.
Thoughts?
Ive been waiting for this one. If sony messes the a7v up I'm officially moving to Nikon.
Is there gonna be a7ciii shortly after?
Yes
Nikon already has partial stacked sensor high fps, Canon rumors says r6 going stacked and my company Sony the one who invented stack sensors is still hanging on to rolling shutters. Makes no sense. They're still hanging on to 10 frames. A second makes no sense
Yo the automatic audio translation by youtube is wild
Any rx100viii news?

There is nothing wrong with the 100Vi???
I’ve been saving to get a A7IV and I could finally pull the trigger.Should I wait for the A7V and get that instead?
New version of 400f2.8 is coming out in 2025?
if the GMii is 2KG i'll buy one.
The ONLY thing anyone needs is 4k60 no crop
This might just be my first Sony.
I'm just exited about the a7V and commenting for the algorithm 👍
I just want an upgrade in IBIS, can be increased just by 1.5 EV (so from 5 to 6.5)
Also worth to mention pre-capture (in RAW format!) even at 10-15 fps, I'd appreciate any number in entry level camera.
AI autofocus features will be of course there, so I don't even need to write that.
That's all.
Just put A7r V 8 stop in it
Andrea, nice update on the A7V, when i bought my A7IV just 3 yrs ago this month i paid $3299 , if the new A7V is only $3500 that is a very good price if that is what it ends up selling for, these are Canadian dollars i am talking about, right now here the A7IV is priced down to $2800 by Sony Canada, if the new A7V comes with the new bigger sensor and all the things you listed, take my money I will upgrade and sell the A7IV and probably my A77 MK2 which is an awesome camera that i still get lots of use from it and yes it does 20fps easily at 24 megapixels raw no problem, I will be sad to see it go, if the new camera is going to be that good, I will buy it and not upgrade again for at least 5 to 6 years 👍
The bold specs camera has no recent camera to compete against except for the a1 II. Unless against the old Canon R5. Of cource this could be somewhat competeing with the Nikon 45Mpix Cameras sitting between the fast ones and Z7II
4K and 120 fps 422 will be great❤
Sony has no direct competitor for the Canon R5 II.
Should make for an exciting Q1 to compare against the R6iii
Just joking aside, this camera will put Canon, Nikon and Lumix out of business. As popular as the A74 is, the A7V will blow the doors off Sony's warehouse.
At this point, I just can't see how they could possibly mess this up, at worst it should be an exceptional camere, with somewhat minor but meaningfull improvements in large quantity!
A7R is their high res model, so they will keep resolution for a7V at 33mpx. But it will do 4K120 so it can compete with z6iii.
It’s scenario #1. Look what they did with the A1II.
Just 4k 60p without crop and new body so it takes longer to overheat.
I wish Sony would update the 24-105mm f/4 lens to be lighter and more compact, like what Fuji did with the 16-55mm f/2.8. Then, the A7 V paired with a 24-105mm f/4 II would make a fantastic walkaround setup. That's the update they need
I agree, I love my old 24-105 a updated version should be great
Fingers crossed for the bold move, Andrea!
😊
44 MP would even more distinguish that camera from Nikon.
Would be amazing to get a Sony with 6K to allow easy 4K cropping for fixed shots...thanks for the video
That thing better have better rolling shutter. The A74 rolling shutter is garbage.
Thanks a lot, looking forward

When you say this isn't a "wild rumor".. what you really mean is.. this isn't a "WAG".. lol.. Great Channel! I wish the A7V was a 45mpx sensor.
I always get hungry when I search for Andrea Pizzini.
they need to make leaps for the a7V. They cant just release a large-body version of the a7Cii. Im predicting 20fps at least, because it wouldn’t compete with the a9 series anymore like it would’ve before the a9iii came out
wish to have stacked sensor in a7V
when you say the "New Body Design" hopefully that includes the latest flip/rotating better screen system
Higher spec would only make sense if the price is very close to A7RV or if it’s followed by 80mp A7RVI
Based on the a1 mk ii, they keep the original sensor and deck it out with all new stuff around it. If that’s the trend, I’d hold out for the lumix S1H II and drop Sony on my personal system and just used Sonys for the production company
4K60 no crop and better rolling shutter performance would be so appreciated.
Got the a7IV for pro uses and I really don't want or need 44MP. 33MP is a sweet spot.
Better colors (when opening raw on LR) and a better SCREEN (on every sony camera) would be nice ! Less rolling shutter would be great too. The electronic shutter is barely usable on the a7IV :(
AI AF, why not, but it's already very good.
What ever they release it needs to beat the z6iii and that will be super tough.
Really hope it has the upgraded sensor!
mas mpx seria un error, para eso están las a7r, 44mpx es exagerado, mas peso pero no significa mas calidad, al contrario, mejor 24mpx y que alcance 4k 60fps sensor completo
i would be happy with 9III body and no crop in 4K 60p
If the Sony a7 V comes with a 44MP sensor and the other innovations you mentioned, I wonder how Sony will manage to sell the Sony a1 Mark II.
By releasing a A1 III earlier than expected.
If they re-release A7IV with 4k 60p no crop, I think that camera will sell better than any camera in sony.
i want same sensor stacked!!! 33 mp, 6k 30 not in crop, new screen a7r5, dual cf A, the new sensor is for the a7ivs!!!!
I‘d love to have a Sony RX1RIII or medium format camera with a fixed lens.
Very disappointed in how Sony has handled the last 3 years of feature updates and release when I spent so much money on their "flagship."
Sony... overbuild the camera and chips to allow for substantial updates that keep you high paying customers happy. As always, thank you very much for the video Andrea Pizzini!!
Fx 3 mark ii 😢 release date
Ill get an A7V probably sometime in 2026 when there are some used models for a decent price. Brand new they will probably be $2,800
No not 44mpx, Sony has always keep a sensor for two years, they will put the 44mpx when the A7r will have a new more defined sensor, the A7v will keep the same 33mpx sensor with a faster burst and 4k without crop which is already very good, let's not forget it is a high resolution sensor
me : there's a new update for a7s iii in ba sing se
for me to be honest all i need in the a7v is a better screen which you didn't mention much about
i would love for it to be fully articulation but most importantly i would love for it be in a 2 million don't resolution spot as the current a74 screen really sucks
other than that for anything else would be a welcomed extras
It seems to me that after A1 II there will be no changes except for the AI chip. Probably your first version!
I hope we will get one step ISO better
Canon r6iii and Nikon z6iii midrange cameras have stacked sensors, real upgrades are still possible if Sony WANT to.
great investigation!
A Sony 7V would be good news. Then hopefully there will be thousands of used Sony 7IVs. Used price Eur 1100 would be nice
And they will use a new variable flip screen I think lik in RV
Yes ofc, that’s bare minimum
