Soaking the red lentils now.❤ Can't wait to taste it.🥰 I tried 2 loafs, 1 with an egg substitude powder by Bob's Red Mills (potato starch, Tapioca flour, Baking soda, psyllium husk) and the other with chia seeds in plain water to help it thicken.🤔 The chia seed one, I added oregano flakes, and it was just so tasty. The other one with the egg substitute, I added the curry powder as in the video, and oh boy! Those flavors just danced on my taste buds! It's better than the oregano one. The consistency of both loafs is pretty much the same, so I would say use chia seeds if you can't use the psyllium husk and are vegan. I just added 2 tablespoons of chia seed to 4 tablespoons of water and allowed them to soak and get slimmy before adding them to the rest of the ingredients. Im trying to leave behind processed carbs and the bread is the hardest for me. This recipe will take care of the carb cravings for sure. Thank you for sharing it with us.❤
I made this today. It went flat after taking it out the oven 😱 What did I do wrong. I still ate it .delicious I'm going to try again. Any advice. (Marc 2023)
@@RisingYeastRecipes I like the look of this and will try it tomorrow. One small point - I am surprised that you didn’t add about one tablespoon of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to activate the baking soda. This may have helped @jennyb270. I will certainly use lemon juice at the end before putting it in the baking tin. Thank you for the detailed recipe.
I made this bread recipe, texture came out quite good but I am struggling so much to get used to the taste. Not sure if it's is the psyllium husk or the red lentils because I usualy like lentils. 🤔😔
I will be trying 2 loads, 1 with an egg substitude powder by Bob's Red Mills (potato starch, Tapioca flour, Baking soda, psyllium husk) and the other with chia seeds in plain water to help it thicken.🤔

Hi Jennb, this bread rises slightly with the help of baking powder, so we cannot expect the same rise as with bread where we use yeast.

Thank you for this great recipe. I was wondering if I could use flaxseeds in place of psyllium husk?
Hey there, yes you can use it in different ratio, but I'm not so sure about the consistency/ dense of the dough...
@@RisingYeastRecipesThank you for your response 🙏
Thanks for the recipe: can I omit the cornstarch?
Yes, but add tapioca or flour instead...
Können Sie, das hat sowieso nichts mit Brot zu tun.
Have you tryed baking in smaller tins? Of course it will need less time in the oven, but does it make a difference?
Hi, I'm shure it will come out just great even in smaller tins 😊
Could you please state the size of loaf tin you used for this recipe? Thank you.
How do I bake this in Fahrenheit and for how long?
Are the psyllium husk whole or powder?
What vegan options can I use instead of the cornstarch? I have arrowroot powder, will this do??
What about tapioca?
I’d assume potato starch should work.
Mine is not yellow but kinda gray.
Tastes good.
Instead of starch I added one egg and 150 ml of water
Hey Susie, did you use green on red lentil? The color of the bread depends, among other things, on the color of the lentils..
@@RisingYeastRecipes red... color was kinda' dirty but tasted ok
curry
The psyllium can make the bread turn grey or even purple sometimes depending on the type you use.
can u substitute psyllium husk with anything else?
Hey there, this recipe is made with psyllium husk and cannot be substituted, sorry.
Ive seen some recipes use ground flaxseed. Haven’t used it myself though 🤷♀️
Could you tell me in teaspoons both the starch and physllium husk. I've tried to figure it out but get different answers.
Thanks
Hey Jackie, so you will need 3 tbsp of corn starch and 4 tbsp of psyllium husk.
@@RisingYeastRecipes Thanks for getting back to me. Would tapioca starch work.
Yes of course, no problem Jackie👍
@@RisingYeastRecipes Thanks so much. I will let you know when I make it. God Bless you...✝️💞

Can this be done with yellow split peas?
I don't think it will be a problem😊
What are the calories per slice? How many slices per loaf?
Hey Margaret, this is a recipe for 8 slices 1 slice has 160 kcal.
How long do you soak the red lentils?
Hi, soak it for 1 hour minimum😊
what can i replace the psylium husk with? as i am very very allergic to it! thanks!
Maybe try it with 2 eggs and reduce water (50-100 ml ).
@@RisingYeastRecipes thanks! i hope it works
