      I use to live in Atlanta from 2004 to 2008. I like Houston way more than Atlanta. Let me know when you decide to make that move!

    We’re considering Houston, TX or Charlotte, SC also relocating from California. I love it here in Cali but the prices are crazy.

    Regarding the Fort Bend County Appraisal District, you can forget about lowering your annual appraisal. I have hired and fired two companies that could not lower our appraisal meaningfully. It is the worst appraisal district in the Houston Area, so you better think twice about that before you buy a home in Fort Bend County. And, they are building houses in Fort Bend County like there is no tomorrow at "high" prices, which will be used against you by the appraisal district appraisers and the appraisal board. In fact, I spoke with a company representative who does property tax protests who lives a few miles from me in Fort Bend County and he could not even get his property tax appraisal reduced, so now you know.

    Biggest issue here in Houston is the crime rate, you will get your car broken into Houston, especially inside the loop area, south central (McGregor - Sunnyside), north Houston (greenspoint aka gunspoint), even southwest Houston (Sharpstown). Best places are really outside the city ie Cypress, Woodlands, Katy, Friendswood unless you have availability to purchase multiple million around rice military and west university.

    Is the whole Houston a flood zone ?

    Has Houston fix their flooding problem?

    • @nicoleellisonrealtor
      @nicoleellisonrealtor  6 місяців тому +2

      I’ve lived Houston for 15 years and my home has never flooded. If you live in a flood zone, you will know it and you will have a higher chance of flooding. However, if you don’t live in a flood zone, the chances of your property flooding is very low.
