I only been speaking Japanese for over 40 years and learned to do that around the age of 20 when I first came to Japan, so I could be wrong, but I don't think Japanese has a tempo. When I first study Japanese, I remember asking our Sensei to correct any mispronunciation we might do. Her response? "Can you pronounce the vowels, a-i-u-e-o?" Me: "Yes, repeating what she said.! Her, "Then you should have no problem with the pronunciation."

I have lived in Japan for about 6 years and had many friends. I asked them the same thing, and the answers were interesting. Japanese people like foreigners who are "white-skinned", "tall", "blonde"(most of the time), "blue eyed" people (white people to be direct). Goes for both men and women. But it's not because they are racist or something, but because lighter skin is considered to be more beautiful and it's ingrained in their culture. That is the reason why rebels (yankees and gyarus as they call them) tan their skin to go against the culture. So if you guys think Japanese people would like to date you, it would be only if you are white. They say they are not very attracted to other darker skinned races (my friends at least).

It's a double edge sword. I keep seeing projections of Japan's future ultimately suffering by how seriously they take their morals. The low birth rate, low marriage rate, people leaving Japan, overworked society, etc.
It's mostly a result of the low quality of life for the younger generation there.
Change will need to happen eventually, but due to the hierarchical system they abide by, the change will need to go through the people that are benefitting most out of how it's currently set up (older generations).

seven reasons why japanese people doesn't make good friends at all, why none/few of them are trustworthy in fact:
firstly, they make no effort to speak other languages and anyway when we try to speak Japanese, they make fun of our accents and they don't forgive bad pronunciations
Second, they refuse to show their feelings, even if we are polite, kind and respectful. just because they refuse to put us in their friendship circle for some reason (actually it's only when they're drunk, it's shameful)
third, they like to criticize others behind their backs. they judge you without knowing you, they don't give us a chance. they don't tell about our mistakes, how can we improve.
fourth, they feel a non-human need to have many close boyfriends for selfish reasons.
Fifth, they treat foreigners like walking dictionaries/wallets
sixth, even though they have many cultural flaws and assume bad things about foreigners, they still fear being criticized by them for some reason, while we do it for a reason.
Seventh, they easily judge by our appearance when it's not our fault we are built like that "buuuuh tall or older foreigners = bad people because we live on an island"
I love Japan, for what it has naturally, but I don't understand why its people are so well regarded around the world. don't bother me with disingenuous comments like "there are people like them all over the world"

If you ask people in Europe, no one would tell they want to date someone from America, England or France, but in Japan they seem quiet popular. Always interesting. The term "yellow fever" is rampant in the West. And I understand it as a fan of much of Japanese culture. Being an older man at 38+ I remember a time when enjoying a Japanese anime was ridiculed. It's not as much anymore. However, while it's more openly accepted it's still viewed as "you're over 30 and watching cartoons??!?!". To meet a partner that wouldn't come in with preconceived notions about you and your hobbies is a splendid idea. Furthermore, most Westerners to understand the cultural difference and language barrier. It's like the ones that go to Japan and are shocked when their lack of knowledge of the Japanese language hinders them throughout their travels. I've been to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. You have barriers and how you handle them will determine how far you are able to go. And yes, as in the West a Japanese person may use you just like any Western person. Unsavory people exist everywhere. My attraction to Asian women in general is the fact that most are more family oriented and many hold more traditional values that have eroded in the US. Nearly non-existent. That said, don't just jump to chase immediately. I'd personally enjoy more traveling the country to see the culture, learn the history, taste the cuisines, and meet interesting people. Just paying off personal debts so no travel right now for me.

They all listed the US, the UK, France, and Russia, because that's all they've heard about, but I'll bet you any time that they only have a vague idea of what these countries are really like, and most importantly, they probably don't know much about their respective cultures and mix everything together. Like, you know, cowboys in Europe and knight battles in the US. Stuff like that. I mean, the Eiffel tower should be in Paris no matter who's being interviewed, and Paris should be in France in most cases, but don't ask them to locate France on a map, or who was the most famous French cowboy in history.
Obviously they're curious, which is a good thing, but asking them what Western country they're interested in is like asking random people in the west which Japanese city they'd like to visit. They'll just list out all the cities that they've heard the name of: Tokyo and Kyoto, most likely, without having any idea what they're like and how different they are. Hell they might even include Beijing in the list. Know what I mean?
It's called ignorance and it's what invariably always comes before knowledge. No judgement there. It's just that them listing these 4 countries, and only these 4 countries, together like they're the same, is as textbook as it gets.

Of course the people shooting other people aren't in the gentlemanly portion of the population. Using some miniscule portion of the population who shoot people as a means to evaluate the 99.99% who aren't shooting people is illogical. Also I think most if marrying someone from the US would rather live in Japan for a number of reasons.
In an interview like this they have to think of an answer and certain countries are just more top of mind and likely to be mentioned. I'm sure gentlemanly Italians (or numerous other places) are in great shape even if they don't explicitly say it.
I live in the US and I know my odds of being shot are incredibly low (in spite of hearing about US gun violence way more often than someone from Italy would). I would move if that wasn't the case.
Excluding suicides the vast majority of shootings involve very specific parties who have found a reason to hate each other and are willing to kill. That leaves a random shooting in my case (as is the case for the vast majority of the population) as a possibility and the odds of that are incredibly low.

Islands in general are safe place, i been to many islands, near Africa and Kuba near america, and i can say people are often more well behaved. I think its because they dont emmigrate and keep theyre human bonds really strong, like japanese people do.(culture of being considering of others even strangers) People who dont participate in society often struggle with finding and understanding their own indentity, and right now its the biggest psychological problem in the world. The reason for dating in Japan is completely off the mark. You ask them if they would date a foreigner and they say yes but then you ask if they would marry and they are not sure. The point of dating is to marry! It seems Japanese culture treats dating as a means to grow themselves and not to deepen a relationship with someone towards marriage. It's actually a very selfish approach.

The point of dating is dating, not marriage, you can be in love with someone for the rest of your life and never get married or desire marriage. There are many people who don’t care about marriage because it is not necessary for love. I feel like you’re the selfish one as you’re being small minded and saying “the point of dating is for marriage”… To you sure but you can’t tell someone else what the point of dating is.

    • @Youtuber-ly6tx

@@ProjectMoff I'd say you want to eat cake without the calories. Incomplete action. Why do you think so many women are upset when their boyfriends don't propose after so long? You date someone to get to know them, but with the intention of marriage. I suppose some people use dating differently than its purpose, but that doesn't mean the purpose of dating has changed. Some people throw up their food after eating a delicious steak because they just wanted the taste. That's like saying I'm being small minded by saying people eat for sustenance. Sure, obviously the act of eating can be abused but it doesn't mean the ultimate purpose of eating isn't for sustenance.
