Had a great time hanging with you and Brian. Looking forward to getting out to NC sometime soon! Definitely have to put Matt through one of your workouts.
I just finished week Five weeks in my 10 week program from him and I’ve dropped 25 lbs and my back stopped hurting as well moving heavy equipment all day at work is no problem now. Thank you Matt.
Watching you and Matt go through this was really helpful. I’ve been using Wenning warmups for the last year, but was never quite sure if I was “on”. Now I know I am hitting it right.
Matt Wenning is the man! I've been doing Wenning Warm-ups now for about half a year and they are everything that he says they are. Great way to increase capacity, add volume, and prevent injury.
i agree with this guy. If you do everything you do at the end bc they are easier in the beginning, it warms up everything properly and your bench will move alot stronger and smoother
I'll use the Tactical Wenning strength program and it incorporates these warm-ups and I can vouch for them! We just had a peaking phase and I was a trashed 37. Doctors even suggested surgery for a herniated disc in my lower back. This week I benched 405, squatted 480, and deadlift 550 during the peaking/test week. Those are pretty conservative also. Due to pass injuries and a beat up body, I stopped at about 90% on every lift. I'm your average Joe and nowhere near built like none of these guys. So I'm happy with that strength at my age and lifestyle. Just doing it for a health standpoint. Had some pretty severe injuries in the past so I always get scared now with heavier weights but that's the best it has felt in a long time. I also kept it around the percentages are rpe they suggested during training. I didn't try to Ego lift so touching that heavy of a weight with lifting no heavier than I did during the program impressed me. I used to be the one who thought I had to touch heavy singles every week to lift heavy. Lol let me tell you you will pay for it eventually. Especially if you don't have the the money and resources some of these people have.
I think Juji's crossover into bodybuilding is still under rated. Just watching the difference in form between matt and juji puts the different styles of training into perspective. Clear squeeze and contractions in juji's form where as matt is pure explosion. i've been trying to self learn the bodybuilding form, its not easy nor is powerlifting if you cant achieve proper form. but to be be able to cross over from different sports is quite impressive, a re wiring of the brain and body so to speak.
I've actually been doing the wenning warm up for the past month or so with flat db bench , 1 arm rows and then tricep pushdowns and it definitely feels like it gets my elbows Nice and warm
Join a 24 hour gym and golate. I train after the mrs has gone to bed. I have a whole commercial gym nearly to myself from 2330-0130! Most are quiet enough from 2230!
@@MushookieMan asleep by 2am, 5.5 hours sleep. It’s not ideal but I go to bed earlier next day to make up for lost sleep (or a 2 hour nap if there’s time in the day) Sacrifice a little sleep for a much better work out. 👍🏻 It’s all about sacrifice isn’t it?!
I do this in a commercial gym, not a problem at all. You change exercises each time you come in, so you adjust to what's available. And if you do dumbbell work you only need one bench. Takes 10-15 minutes to finish the warmup so no worries with hoarding equipment/dumbbells
I might be disappointed Juji didn't do a grip video with Big Loz while he was here in the US, but the videos with Brian Shaw and Matt Wenning DEFINITELY make up for it!
Someone left some AHHH! on the floor at my gym, so I brought it up to the front counter to put in the lost and found since there was no one really around who looked completely mad. I made the suggestion to the young man working to give it a sniff, he did, from about an inch away, and then he thought that he broke his brain, he really thought there was something wrong with himself. From a veteran ammonia ampule user and someone who has tried many different ammonias, AHHH! is on a different level, I can safely say that putting an ampule up your nose then cracking may not be as strong as AHHH!.
Been lifting for about 9 years now and it’s always humbling and exciting to get mind blown by ideas such as Matt’s philosophy. Definitely gonna look into some Matt’s programs
strongest most useful/dense muscle I ever built was by doing boxing circuits....involving the 'pig bike', a rower, bag punching, low weighted straight punches at speed, low weighted uppercuts, tonne ups (10 sets of 10 x reps of any floor exercise of your choice), and skipping done for 1.5mins with 30 seconds between and a 5 min rest between rounds and a group of lads with one at each station. I'd do aero before and weights after...then, go collect glasses and do the cellar at a local nightclub.
@@mattwenning2164 Matt, I love the content but if there's a pulley on top of the weight stack and not a direct connection then it's a 2:1 ratio, same concept as a snatch block on cranes and winches. Great for extended cable range and smooth operation. Functional trainers are built this way and sometimes even with 4:1 ratios. Not meant to diminish what youre doing just giving reference to home users who get hung up on the numbers. Keep putting out great content and thanks for sharing your experience.
Dudes... I am 28 years old.. I have watched jujimufu since I was like 11... I learned alot about tricking!!! And took some of that knowledge to parkour!!!! 🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏💪👀👀
Please he needs to stop mentioning the squat for reps where " he beat Tom platz record". Although it's impressive what he did, he cut half his reps short of even parrallel and didn't walk the weight out. It's unfortunately just another example of boosting your ego.
It looks like a lot of volume - I'm worried that just the warmup will have me tired before I ever bench. That said, I'll give it a try; these guys aren't rookies!
I'm 60 years and recently discovered that doing the same exercises in the sameway is probably not the way to go. Switch up the grips/hand positions/angles. I would be good with just for the warm up, forget the bench press, but I'm a lot older and have a different perspective than a 40 yr old.
Brother, Mat Wenning programs transformed by main 3 lifts and my physique, I've been doing them for the past 3 years. His contents is top 0.1% of fitness youtube contend. Glad you finaly found out about him and gave him some much deserved exposure.
No offense, but this is overkill. Plenty of powerlifters can do the 3 big lifts on the same day without having to ridiculous amount of cardio like this. For me, I just do ball slams for 100+ reps twice per week and you will have all the cardio you need to do the big 3 optimally.
I remember this guy was roughly my size 190lbs back a few years ago,, and he was a naturally strong dude, but I can see he's given in to the dark side of being bigger over healthy and long life, which exercise and healthy lifestyle is what started the exercise phenomenon,,,,
3 exercises 4x25 circuit keep it light, keep it moving it's circuit training a blast from the past with updated emphasis but double benefit!

I guess chest cardio would be pushups? Other upper body cardio could be some sort of bodyweight circuit training, or the ski erg

Where can I find the workout that you performed?
Love all the videos Juji puts out, love all the colabs and guests. Dave Tate, Bugz, epically Joey. But this guy takes it to another level. Great work.

In his gym, strolling around on flip flops. Radiating some serious alpha energy there man
As if footwear and the size of my balls are symmetrical 🤣 gtfoh
That’s Wenning for ya, man cracked the code of Louie and can teach it in a verbiage he couldn’t imo. Matt is the 🐐

Love Wenning Warmups they make lifting heavy go seamlessly
Gotta prime the machine before hammering it lol

Imma try this tonight before benching! Good share Juji, thanks!
Chest Cardio Ideas:
- Chest level medicine ball pass; standing and lying on back
- Plyo Sled Pushes
- Incline/Decline/Flat Pushups circuit style
- Plyo bench press
- Plyo Pushups
Wenning warm ups saved my lifting! I joined patreon and it's been worth it. Matt is a genius
10/10 Great knowledge dropping, as usual.

this warmup looks epic.
This makes so much sense! I wish I would have heard this years ago. I will be trying this out on my next upper body day this week.
Juji, for upper body cardio you also have the ski erg which is a cool machine not many people use!
Damn I feel like I'm mainlining collabs with all of these 😂. You are killing it!
I've never benched like this because I work out in a commercial gym. I can only imagine the hate going through this warmup 😂
Have to figure out to do a similar warmup on a single machine or on the bench itself.

I can dig the Wenning Warmup. Looks boss.
+100 for the wenning warmups

Highly underrated, more people should be listening to him. He knows his stuff.
I love how he just takes the ammonia and rips it immediately 🤣

Called him Juju. lol
Love this!!!
This is crazy cool!
@ 4:25 chest cardio
Wenning 🤟
love to see juji just living life
I feel like I’d be too tired after the warm up to lift 😂 Definitely going to try to incorporate some high rep band stuff befofe lifting sessions now.
I do the wenning cool down, then the wenning stretches, then wenning post meal, but before all that wenning warm up ,
Simple and effective.

From what i see its warming up the muscle memory.

Basically the ability to perform more ‘work’ efficiently the gym, eg more volume without getting winded, rapid strength drop off, etc
