Omg 😱 Bill you may have just saved my life. I’ve had a appliance company try to diagnose my microwave and paid over $100 just for them to look at it! They didn’t help! 😭 I just watched your video and was able to get the fuse out of my High Pointe Microwave in my Thor Outlaw 37RB which has been out of service for over a year! 😳 I can tell the fuse is blown 🙌 and I’m super excited 😆 to get a new one to replace and test it out!!!!! Thanks 🙏 for making this tutorial! I feel like a boss finally figuring this out 😂 yay!! Xo 💋 Bloggin Brandi
Thank you. I am glad it helped you, but in our case our unit kept blowing the fuse when the door was opened and/or closed. Turned out at least two of the four microswitches on the door were bad. According to a repair technician I had look at it these switches are a special switch that are around $70 each and there would be substantial labor charges to replace them, so we ended up just buying a new microwave only that fit perfectly and was a lot cheaper. My wife rarely used the convection oven anyway. Good luck.
Omg Bill it worked!!!!!!!!!! I actually just changed the fuse and it turned on and I unplugged it! 😂 because I’m trying to sell my RV but I’m so excited right now that this fuse worked and I could get it out without dropping the brackets even though the screws were ugggghhh not in the best location so I still damaged my cabinets but I do not care! Thank you soooooooooooo much!!! Yay!!! I got my fuses at Ace Hardware Microwave 20 amp / 125 w! You seriously have no idea how much you saved my life!!! 😳👀🤞💃 You’re the best God bless!!!! 💕💋❤️🙌🙏🙋♀️😘😆 Xo Bloggin Brandi
Conclusion: I want to add very important information: the reason fuse is blowing is because switches are lose from heat in plastic mounting frame. I shimmed them up with toothpicks to tight them so they did not wiggle in plastic mounting frame and fixed. Fuse was blowing when door was being opened. Shim door switches and replace fuse and convection microwave oven fixed. Only one year warranty on this. Started blowing fuses after two years. Thanks for video on how to change fuse.
Thank- You..Thank-you..20 times. We have the same unit in our Grand Design 310GK. You allowed me to remove the panels, and access the fuse area. Bought a special Ceramic Microwave Fuse from ACE Hardware. (NOT in the Automotive area)! Yeah baby! BTW. Under $6
My husband has been replacing fuses in high Pointe Microwave. The lights come on, the clock runs, everything except the start button. What is causing that not to work.
Hi Bill. Are the first screws you removed behind the vent cover? I can’t see mine possibly because the wood frame is covering them? If so I’ll have to drop the microwave to get to them??
If you are referring to the two screws on the top cover that runs across the top, John, on our unit they are on top a few inches in from each side and I could get to them without removing the microwave or any wood trim. I hope this helps.
@Bill Fisher thanks for the quick reply. Yes that’s the one. Mine is mounted with only the vent section visible so I’m guessing the screws are behind it. Wish I could send a pic.
Does it matter if the fuse we took off our High Pointe Microwave says 125v and put in a 250v fuse? All I'm finding on Amazon are 250v Microwave fuses. Thanks for the informative video.
I can only tell you that the 250v fuse is what I used. My problem ended up being the micro switches on the door and the 250v rated fuses blew just fine.
Thank you much for the response. Do you have a video where you replace/fix the micro fuses in the door? I just want to make sure all of our bases are covered. Thank you once again.
@@luislujan8784 Sorry, but no I don’t. We replaced the convection/microwave with a microwave. But after doing that I did find some videos showing how to replace the micro switches.
I have same unit I had convection oven on it went off with clicking sound I started it again and it went off again and this time I smelled smoke. What do you think this might be?
Hello just curious you stayed at the 20 amp but not how many volts it is looking up and trying to buy some replacements I find the 20 amp slow blow but I can only find it in the 250 volt and my high point shows that it's 120 volt. Could you please let me know what you used as when I look up to see if it's okay to use 250 volt on 120 volt it says it could become a fire hazard?? Help🤓
I used a 20 amp slo-blo 250 volt fuse. But as it turned out the problem with our microwave/convection unit was caused by some of the micro switches on the door. These switches are around $70 (yes, seventy dollars) each (there are 4 of them and it is a common failure) and by the time the appliance repair guy got through with the estimate it was far cheaper to just replace it with a regular microwave that we bought at Lowes and that is what we did. We rarely used the convection part anyway because my wife preferred the regular oven.
Hi Bill - can you post a link to the fuses you bought on Amazon? Did you end up buying a microwave to replace this one that sits on the counter or that’s over the stove? If it’s over the stove, which one did you end up buying (and did it fit in the space without modifications)? Thank you so much for your help!
@@elizabethfloyd2397 I bought them at Amazon: Beaquicy Microwave Fuse Ceramic Fuse Cartridge Fuse 20 Amp 250V Slow-Blow Compatible with WB27X10388 Microwave (5-Pack). The replacement microwave mounts over the stove where the original one was.
@@billfisher6708 Thanks. I have the same model, but can't seem to find the two screws at the very top that start the whole removal process. I will try out some automobile trim removal tools tomorrow to see if I can carefully pry the top cover loose.
@@KevinPinto You do need to take those two top screws out. The panel is a bit difficult to work loose because it also has some tabs. Just take it slowly and carefully and work it loose and off.
On my unit there are two screws up above where I pointed out in the video. Remove those two screws then VERY CAREFULLY sort of pry up and gently work that upper front piece off. There a couple of plastic tabs on the piece you need to carefully and gently work free. I hope this helps.
