Wizard = trickery. he did not show how the exhaust manifold went over the suspension adjusting bolt, it stops the manifold from being removed. I suggest getting an e30 or a set of e sockets and remove the exhaust studs from the head, this allows for a through clean of the gasket surface. Replace the studs with new ones along with new bolts. Not all studs need to be removed I just did this job and hate that the factory manifolds all crack.

I have these exact headers awaiting installation in a week. How do you reroute the catalytic converters behind the new long tube headers? I live in Pennsylvania and the Titan is set to California emission standards. Do you have custom installs for the cats behind the headers? Great video. Thank you so much!
For all the people questioning if you need to tune your truck. The answer is no. Long tube headers were made with 2 bungs. The top which reads 1 cylinder and the bottom bung reads all 8 cylinders. You need special o2 sensor extension connectors to reach the bottom bungs. These extension connectors are very difficult to come across. Whoever needs a link to the parts comment below. It's a piti that this guy didn't tell you guys that you guys need these connectors. Long tube headers calls for o2 extension connectors.
Our opinion is yes. OEM manifolds can and probably will crack again. Longtubes are much more reliable and you'll get better performance from your truck in general.
You don't need a tune, you need o2 sensor extension connectors to connect to the bottom bung hole that reads all 8 cylinders. To do this job it calls for special made o2 sensor connectors otherwise your truck won't run right and will have to go the more expensive route and get a tune if you're using the top bung holes which the tops only reads for 1 cylinder.
I know this video was posted a while ago, but I'm now attempting this and was wondering how you were able to access the 4 bolts holding driver's side and passenger side mount to the block on a 4WD Armada...I can't seem to see an easy way to access them, let alone putting them back.
If you have a 4x4 this job is a huge pain in the ass on the driver's side. Brake lines and front differential are in the way and the motor mount clearance is tough.
As you know the original exhaust manifolds have a cat conv attached to them. How do you install the long tube headers and get around having no converters there? Check engine light, etc? Do you have to totally reprogram everything?
Yes you do or get o2 spacers. But this guy didn't even tell you guys that you need special o2 extension connectors for the bottom bung holes because they don't reach. I purchased mine off a guy who makes them in New Jersey for $110 bucks. Whoever is doing this job let me know who needs them and I can send you a link.
Can you please send me the link? I will be doing this job on an 04 Titan. Does the extension work on the shorty headers, or do I they only apply to the long tube headers? Thanks!
Do you get any insane droning noises with the LT headers? I currently have a nismo catback exhaust and I am looking into getting some headers but I'm worried about droning in the cabin.
I have an 05 armada with a cracked pass side manifold. Per Midas. They want $1360 to replace one and one cat. They say they come as one unit. I don’t know. I may go this route and just replace both. Did you eliminate a oxygen sensor installing these?
I recently installed the LT headers but I keep getting leaks after re tightening. Not sure if it’s the headers gasket(jba gasket not oem)or the flange connection.
I had to basically cut mine from the o2 sensor hole that goes through the heatshield to the outside edge of each heatshield so i could just use an open ended 7/8ths wrench to remove the o2 sensor later. I just bent the crap out of it and pulled it out on both headers straight through the bottom of the truck. Its really thin metal but i found that to be the only way other than trying to cut it into small enough pieces in that tight of a space. Its a fairly simple job honestly just take your time
If its 4wd it's a pain in the ass. Currently stuck on how to get the drivers side in. Still have to figure out how to get back 17mm engine mount bolt tightened
@@hellfire08 here's my advice. Jack the engine just enough to take some weight. Loosen the 2 17mm bolt on the bottom of the engine mounts both sides. Loosen the 4 14mm bolts holding the engine bracket on, on each side. The side you will be working on remove those 4 14mm bolts. Jack engine as needed.
So I've removed all my exhaust system but once getting the headers in there since they don't have heat shield did you have any issues with excessive heat?
I personally don't have problems with that. In fact, I've never seen an experience where someone removed them from a Titan with adverse effects. That's not to say they aren't useful. If you can reinstall then by all means do so.
Headers are thinner than manifolds and dont get as hot. No need for the heat shield in that area. I've got stillen long tubes and uprev tune. Ran it over 60,000 miles and no problems.

check out the videos from ChrisFix on changing out the exhaust in his 98 mustang. Heat the exhaust to operating temp, apply penetrating oil to all fasteners while still hot, repeat for 2-3 days. Day of the install, heat to operating temp, then spray some water on the fasteners while still hot. Sudden drop in temp will often cause the bolts to unfreeze.
Once upon a time, I heard (several times) that these Titan/Armada engines like back pressure and don't do well with headers...that they actually LOSE power. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I know that typically, headers increase hp/performance.

Is this a good time to replace engine mounts as well? I have JBA LT headers, cajun b pipes, and PRG engine mounts ready to install
Since you're already in there loosening up the engine mount you could do that.
After getting a proper tune done after installing the new headers, what kind of performance gains would one be looking at in HP and Torque?

Nothing insane. The drone is going to have more to do with the exhaust that goes along with it rather than the headers themselves.

JBA worked with tuners to get these things dialed in.
No engine "works well with backpressure" unless it's a two stroke. An engine is an air pump and removing restriction will always make more power.
