@@jaygee2116 everything tune-up oil change of course transmission flush out have the differential fluids changed often coolant fluid changed as well fuel injectors flushed and cleaned
I sold my 2011 ram 2500 cummins to downsize to a half ton. I spent 6 months researching trucks that would work for me. I never even considered the titan until i read the specs on them. I got a 2009 with 198,xxx mi last year and its been awesome. My favorite part is how freakin fast they are. The fastest vehicle ive ever owned. Amazing ride quality and for the prices you get a lot of "new vehicle" features in an older truck. Honestly the most underrated vehicle ive ever seen. Truck guys that don't know about them will bash them but the guys that do know about them will understand how great these trucks really are. Only issue ive had is having to replace exhaust manifolds but theres plenty of parts out there. Also parts are NOT expensive for these great trucks too. Cannot go wrong with a first gen titan. Id suggest 2008 and up if you look to get one. 2008-2015 had least amount of known problems and they are damn good looking in my opinion. Thanks for reading this whole post if you got to the end haha
i have an 04 titan with over 300,000 miles and its still going strong. All I've ever done is regular oil changes and replace the starter. Its been a great truck.
147k on my 2010. Changed serpentine belt and spark plugs at 110k. Everything else is factory and running solid still. Wouldn’t hesitate to drive it cross country
Tundra= C Channel frame that's prone to rust issues and NO locking rear diff, ok crash test rating. Titan= Fully boxed reinforced frame and locking rear diff available, bullet proof drive train, great crash test rating and best truck warranty 5 yr/100k.
@@brotherdj777 A lot few were sold and you still see quite a few. Also the higher price of the Tundra would attract a more maintenance friendly crowd. The titan DOES have a better frame and all forged internals engine.
Whoa! That’s almost unheard of anymore. Im looking for a truck that will last. I love older model trucks. I’m considering purchasing an 08 with 179k on it for $9k.
I have a titan with 180,000 absolutely perfect I keep reading reviews on titans and it only encourages me to keep making it last till the wheels fall off and even longer thank you
thank you for making this informative video. I have a 2011 Titan I bought new...and I have simply loved this truck. It has had no major issues. I have 170,000 miles as of today. I hope to have it for another 100,000.
Just bought the 2021 and I love it. I was not even interested in the Titan but after driving the Ford, Toyota and Dodge I choose the Titan. Better gas mileage and just an overall better vehicle in my opinion.
I bought a 2012 Titan new. Pro-4x with all options. I've had it just over 8 years now, and it has 49250 miles. I don't drive it a lot, but it's only purpose was to go adventuring with my son. I've had to use the 4wd system many times in all types of weather and terrain. (Family farm where I grew up.) No issues as all with this truck. It's had all suggested maintenance performed during the 8 years. I plan on keeping this truck for many more years as well. I love my Titan.
Have a 2012 bought in new, now has 55k, tow with it all the time it’s beast, tows so nice & fun to drive, plan on keeping it for many more years. Titan has never gotten its proper due.
I’m looking at a 2013 pro-4x, 130k miles…$20k. Seems expensive but in 2022, F150s with cloth are going for the same price with 200k, so it seems a loaded 4wd Titan might be a deal.
I bought my 1st Gen 2004 Titan for $19,500 OTD in Sept of 2004, when Ford and Chevy wouldn't let a basic model out for $24K. When I fired it up for a test drive, the motor instantly reminded me of my 1968 Chevelle SS with the 396BB and the L88 Camshaft. I Replaced the Tranny at 246K miles, just changed the differential fluid for the 1ST TIME at 278K miles and found very little metal and the gears looked perfect. I am just now replacing the 2 front wheel hubs because I am hearing a growl on the road after changing some 6 year old tires and thought the tires may be the culprit. Yesterday I changed the driver's seat bottom cushion (swapped it with the passenger cushion since it was barely used. My Titan has been BULLET PROOF. I have never babied it or abused it but I swear by this Truck. BTW, Bought my son a used one with 321K miles on it (back in 2016) and it purred like a kitten.
311,000 on my 2012 Pro4X. It has seen some hard off road use. Never touched engine or transmission other than regular fluid changes with Amsoil. Replaced alternator at 300,000. Other than brakes, ball joints and wheel bearings, everything else is original including muffler. Runs strong.
@@jarenteague4105 sorry to reply after you posted this comment a year later but a lot of offroaders love Nissan products. Pathfinders (older 90s chassis) are lovely off road, the Frontier, Xtrail, XTerra are all also really good vehicles that you see sitting in the same drive way for years because these vehicles refuse to fail the driver. Nissan has dropped the ball a few times over the last 2 decades but when it comes to rough and rugged they work really great and well as much as people rag on the Altima, that car proves that they build things that should really exist (imagine any other Japanese sedan passing you doing 20-50 more than you on a high way with a ton of body damage but still driving straight)
I am the proud owner of a 2016 Titan XD Platinum Reserve model. So far, apart from regular oil changes I haven’t had any major mechanical expenses. I replaced the original stock tires and am expecting to have to do a brake job one of these days but that is just part of vehicle ownership. The 5.6 litre Endurance V8 has gobs of power and the interior is roomy with the most comfy seats of any I have ever sat in. The overall fit and finish is beyond that of any comparable Ford or Chevy, in my opinion and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Nissan Titan to anyone who is contemplating purchasing a full sized pickup.
Highly underrated truck which suits me just fine... I have a 2007 with just 95,000 miles and its been incredibly reliable to this point with a solid drive train. Good to see others in comments that feel the same.
I appreciate the depth and detail of this vid, but have to disagree on the decision.. I debated for several months between the Titan and Tundra, but in the end I preferred the Titans I test drove. Nissan's handling is smoother and the ride seemed softer (regardless of TRD or Pro4x). Also, the crew cab Tundras are simply excessive compared to the Titans. I can sleep comfortably in the back seat of the Titan, but the back row of the Tundra goes too far beyond what is necessary and simply detracts from the "truck" use of the vehicle. After driving a few of each, I would say the Titan is more of a daily use truck, whereas the Tundra is a family SUV with a bit of bonus bed space... Icing on the cake was the Titan's motor, what a beautiful sound! I would take a Tundra over American trucks anyday, but the Titan is still #1 best value in my book. By far the smoothest and best designed truck I've driven.
My mom drives an 07 Tundra Limited crew cab and it's massive inside. Coincidentally my stepdad just traded his 2020 Tacoma in on a 2021 Tundra Limited TRD-offroad crew cab. Still love my Titan though.
Love My 09 pro4x. Thing runs like a champ! I maintain it regularly, and thankfully have been spot on with all of my previous Nissan purchases. 07 maxima sl (132k, wrecked) 09 titan P4X, (160k, runs like a champ) ‘11 xterra (still going strong at 185k, plan to drive this baby till 500k!)
I have an 06 with 208k. The engine/ drive train is great. I've replaced an oil pressure sensor, a coil pack, front rotors. That with regular maintenance is all. It's all stock and still makes tons of power. What got me though was the clock spring and heater air actuator.
i had a 2005 Titan crew with 396xxx miles. was still a tight running truck. i also had a 2007 with 291xxx miles. i was rearended in it, and was able to drive it home. i just bought another 2007 crew with 80xxx miles. should be the last truck i buy in my life time.
December 2023, With God’s help I bought my 2012 Titan Heavy Metal Chrome edition, And it is better and much nicer that I could find on my own, I guess you can tell that I am loving and enjoying my Titan Oh, and it is a pleasure to drive in our snowy winter in North Idaho! I am grateful!
I have a 2013 with 80,000. She’s a baby and still drives like a brand new truck. Only issues I’ve had are with brake master pressure sensor, (covered under warranty)and the common manual shift button/switch issue. Great truck overall
Own two 06 and 19. The 06 ish years had problems with exhaust manifolds and blend door actuator. I fixed both myself for about $60. The 06 runs still runs great and I gave it to my 16 yr old son.
I have a 2007 SE crew cab 4x4 with 202k on the motor and a rebuilt transmission 5k ago. I swapped in an external transmission cooler on the radiator and added a long breather tube for the rear differential. It does need the exhaust gaskets replaced, but runs like a top and has zero issues. It has a performance chip, dual exhaust, and a 2.5” lift with 295-70-18 tires. I would highly recommend picking a decent used one up as they are easy to maintain, have relatively few issues, a ton of power and space. Very underrated and I have owned all brands of full size trucks, even Toyota.
171k on my 04 Titan. I will not own another truck. I love my Titan. It does come with its issues. Cracked manifolds, and undersized brakes. I’ve replaced the manifolds with Cajun b pipe setup and a tune, brakes I will replace with 08+, and an axle vent mod does the trick for leaking seals. Getting ready to drive it across the country with a dirt bike in the back. Wish me luck
I have 2005 Nissan Armada with over 430,000 miles, still runs great, original engine and transmission. Just recently had to replace front catalyst converters. Perfect for towing fully loaded two horse trailer!!!
Check copart they have 300-500k miles on a regular basis generally speaking I see more titans with 300k miles than the big 3 despite the low low sales numbers
I Have a 2010 Titan 4wd V8 just hit 162,00 on my way home from work today. Love this truck!! I bought it in 2017 with 89,000 miles on it. Routine maintenance and aftermarket exhaust and wheel bearings are the only things ever done to it. Thanks for the Great review!!
Just hit 450,000 on my 2005 Titan. So far the major issues have been that we had to replace the rear end and the exhaust manifolds are paper thin leading to cracks. I replaced the exhaust manifolds with a pair of JBL shorty headers and had dual exhaust put on. No issues since. This is our spare truck as we have 2015, 2108 and a 2021 F150. Many more issues with the F150s...
@@bahenriquez1512 650 parts and 800 labor unless you do it your self. Might as well upgrade to Cajun B pipes and JB headers which have great reviews. I bought mine last year but haven’t had the time to change them out yet and will probably have a shop do it
My 2005 Titan SE 4wd has 381,000 miles. Replaced the exhaust manifold around 100K, just replaced fuel pump. Have replaced the camshaft position sensor relay ($30) once and brakes pretty often (I pull cargo trailer for work). I love it.
Hey Bill. Original of my 2004 Nissan Titan. 415834 miles and still going. GOTTA LOVE IT! No significant issues. Regular maintenance. Just noticed that the odometer has been glitching during extreme heat conditions, which is when it stops tracking the mileage. So it's very likely to actually have more than 416K miles. Great video.
I have replace that actuator. It’s not that hard just go under and to the side of the gas pedal. I was quoted $1k at the dealership. Part is about $90 at the dealership. It took me like 90min to replace it coz the uncomfortable location under the radio/ac control area
I just bought an 06 yesterday with 221991 miles on it. I drove it home from 175 miles away (big test drive). I was nervous about the long trip, not knowing what kind of shape the truck was in. But it performed very well! Reminds me of my 2007 infiniti qx 56.
I special ordered my Titan in 2003 and received it the first week in January of 2004. No issues at all. Only had to replace the radiator due to rock causing a pin hole leak in it. Gas mileage sucks compared to my old Silverado but very reliable and still get compliments on the truck.
2008 Titan SE 188,000 miles. Hands down the best truck I've ever owned!! I upgraded to headers and installed UPREV software... Turned or tuned it into a beast! 😏
Same 2008 se Titan 240k miles with ceramic coated headers bully dog tuner pulstar spark plugs and throttle body spacer does a good 0-60 in 6.2 traction definitely is a problem
2007 Titan SE Crew cab. Original owner. 156000 miles. No issues and never been in for any repairs. I perform all maintenance. Best truck. I had two Ford trucks and will never go back. Just installed General Grabber APT tires. Ready for another 150k miles.
2011 Titan SL used as a service truck with 298K and still running strong. Liked it so much I just bought a new platinum reserve for my personal driver. These trucks are highly under rated.
Just bought my 3rd Titan pro4X. Its the 2024, last of the Titans. I have never had a problem with any of my trucks except the radio went out on my 2019. It was replaced under warranty. All my trucks had over 100k
I have a 2005 Nissan Titan LE with 205500 miles love this truck Biggest job was Transmission rebuilt @ 197500 miles. Runs great plan on keeping until it can't drive anymore
2004 titan 352566. Original drivetrain. No engine or trans repairs. Look at tundra. How many of them can say that? I own a repair shop. I have done my share of tundra timing chains etc..... Titans rule. You should have compared repair cost!
I have a 2006 Titan XE, it’s had a few oil leaks but got that fixed, just regular maintenance. I have almost 190,000 miles. I’m praying it goes to 400,000 miles. I can’t and don’t want a truck payment. It’s been a great truck!!!
very good data on the Titan, I have a 2012 Titan and have 135,100 miles. I purchased it used in 2014 and it had 22, 000 miles. Regular oil changes, replace brakes & rotors and filter changes. Hopefully it will keep running. Thanks
I own a 2012 Nissan Titan Pro4x 160k I've owned the truck for a little over 5 years. The only issue I've had was the battery terminal became corroded and broke. I lost all power. I had changed all fluids as needed. The truck is great, plenty of power. I towed a 25 foot Bennington tritoon from Illinois to Hot Springs Ar. No issues at all. I've driven to Florida 2 times, Louisiana, Missouri. The truck continues to impress me. If you have any doubts, DON'T.... These trucks are made to last. Maintenance, is key.
I have a 2006 Nissan Titan Crew Cab 4x2, original owner and I just hit 200,000. I have never missed a service interval and the truck is still running strong. Besides general maintenance I remember replacing a radiator at 35000 miles because the original had a plastic top and it cracked. I have also had to replace not once but twice, the plastic gear actuators that control the airflow vents. Cheap parts but heavy on labor as the entire dash has to be pulled out to access those plastic gears. It's a quest now to see how far we will run until something major goes out. I have looked at new Titans but the cost differential is huge and you have to burn premium gas as well. If something major in the powertrain goes out, I probably will just replace it and keep going with this old girl. I live in Arizona and it sits in the garage when not in use, so she's aging very gracefully!
I have a 2007 Titan with 326,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. However this year I’ve spent $3500 in maintenance. Fix and go fix and go, it’s been paid off.
As someone who just purchased a beautifully conditioned 2018 Nissan Titan SV with 90k miles (purchased for 22,000), i’m feeling great about my buy after reading all these fantastic comments!
2012 with 101k. I'm huge on preventive maintenance so i plan on keeping this truck for a long time. I had a 2006 that I loved as well, but hurricane Sandy took it from me. Great truck that I want to run for many years to come. Greatest underated truck out there.
I have a 2018 with 132,000. I wouldn’t hesitate to take it from coast to coast and do it in plush riding comfort. Great all around truck that really shines on roadtrips. 23mpg from Amarillo to Vegas and back in July. Out of a gas V8 I call that impressive.
2005 Titan with 275,480 miles, all original except for a aftermarket three core aluminum radiator, long tube headers, tune in truck, I did manage to break a couple axels doing burn-outs with my truck, has the 2.94 gears in rear, with positive traction, best et was a 14.50 at 94 mph, it's a heavy truck. love it!
I have a 05 Titan. It doesn’t look pretty but it cranks every time and will get me there in a hurry. Haven’t did anything but change the fuel pump and the brakes. Best truck I’ve ever had. They say buy American and Americans work. Yeah I was working on them all the time!
I think the better question here is, "How many miles did your Titan have when it died and what killed it?" That would give us a better "life expectancy" than how many miles do you currently have. BTW I have an 07 with 244k and expect a lot more! No major issues other than Carrier bearing and U-joints in the drive shaft. Great trucks!!
2005 Nissan Titan owner. Mine's got far few miles on it (165,000) because she's not driven all the time, but I love that truck. 165,000 miles and she starts immediately, purrs like a cat and will still spin tires all day if I punch the gas. She's quiet inside when driving; no rattles, dings, squeaks or other noises that suggest things are coming loose. And I get way better gas mileage than most other people I know who have trucks of a similar configuration. Only complaint I have is the catalectic converters went out and those aren't cheap to replace.
2013 titan pro-4x. Owned through two super typhoons and the truck is clutch every single time in an emergency. You feel very safe in the car as well. 125k on the odo. Had issues with window motors, tail gate (sometimes used for hauling materials and furniture), actuator replacement, and probably gonna do an preemptive radiator replacement soon. Would it hit 200k? I say if you are on top of servicing it , it will probably last through 300k.
I have a 04 titan 4x4 king cab with 199K, my dad got it in 08 handed it down last year with nothing but regular maintenance and it’s still doing a great job. I love that truck and hope to keep it for a long time. Fingers crossed.
2010 Titan with 212k miles. Still runs like the day I got it with 32k miles. No major issues outside of wear and tear and normal maintenance. Original engine and transmission. I keep up with the maintenance on it pretty good.
2005 Crew Cab, LE, 4X4, 178K, Off Road & Towing Pkg. , Original Owner. This truck has towed 2 bikes and trailer all over the USA, as well as a UHAUL back and forth with an entire household on many 750 mile round trips. Front wheel hub assemblies have been replaced (TIMKEN) at 144K. Entire rear differential and axle assembly replaced under warranty at 56K. Issues with starting solved with a $5 ignition relay. AC recharged 10 years ago. Transmission cooler hoses replaced due to failure at about 140K. A “check engine” light involving the catalytic converters was easily fixed by two bottles of “techroline” in a full tank. That was a year ago.
@@mllisktv1235 my father bought his 06 back in 06 new/low mileage I believe. Till this day still running strong. taking it everywhere across California since he’s a carpenter. Bulletproof truck. I don’t think he’s ever had any major issues/repairs besides the usual oil maintenance lol
215K on my 2007 4x4 crew cab... still runs strong. Other than normal wear and tear and typical gadgets/gizmos/bells/whistles that go bad, it has been trouble free.
I have a 2004 Nissan Titan LE with 315058 on the clock. I do all my own maintenance and repairs and I just last week took it to a transmission shop to replace my broken flywheel and one the guys working on my truck took it for a joyride and blew my engine up. This is literally the first time I had ever took my vehicle anywhere to get serviced. Hence the reason why I do all my own maintenance.
I have a 2005 Titan, my first Truck bought it 4 years ago with 170,550 runs good. Unfortunately @ 195,550 the Transmission went, but had it rebuilt. RUNS GREAT. Now @ 201467 miles .Rides smooth with no issues, very satisfied with my purchase. Paid 5k 4 years ago
Nissan Armada included. We got one that is used and abused 2005. Se off-road. 230k Gets an oil change occasionally. Hauls and tows. But that 5.6 and bulletproof 5 spd automatic. Can’t beat em.
The old Armada is legit the best car ever made. You can fit a full size couch and close the trunk, and still somehow manages to beat an old sports car in a race, also gives a jeeps 4x4 a run for its money.
I had an 2005 titan that had 345k. Had it for 10 years before I traded it in for my 2015 Sierra 2500. The titan never let me down what do ever. Even my 2012 Xterra is at 135k and not a single problem( knock on wood).
I’ve got 2011’xterra with 185k, and a 2009 Pro4x titan with 160k. Both run strong drive great! Routine maintenance on both vehicles, just changed the front suspension on the xterra 184k miles on stock suspension.. of course it was shot, but 184k on stock springs is great! Up next, front suspension and add a leaf, Same upgrades done on the xterra the titan is getting next. Loved all my nissans, I take care of them, and will for the time coming be a Nissan guy. Started with My 07 maxima sl, thing was a beast in itself.
I had a 2000 Xterra and absolutely loved it. Traded it in 2016 with 250k. Bought a Kia, sold a Kia 6 mo later, bought my Titan. Never looked back. Love my truck 240k and runs like a top!!
2006 Nissan Titan LE 2wd 308,000 miles! Original Engine & Trans. Never had any major issues. We love the truck so much we finally purchased a 2020 Nissan Pro 4X 5,800 miles so far Billy D
I’ve got an “04” I bought new that just rolled over 100k. After reading these posts I’m assuming it’s just now broke in. It’s been a great truck minus the horrible clear coat on the paint that fades and chips away on the hood and roof of the truck which is a common Titan occurrence.
My 2009 Titan has 130k on it. I did have the rear axle seal issue at 95k. Replaced the seals and bearings, now I'm more diligent about making sure the differential vent is clear as that is the cause. I do a lot of preventative maintenance on her so knock on wood she is very reliable. Here in the northeast the rust is an issue so I'm not sure she will go over 200k without some frame and bodywork. But like you said, I like driving a truck that not a lot of people have. She looks great (Rancho quick lift for the front) and runs great with a lot of power both off the line (Banks cold air intake and banks 3" exhaust) and she tows awesome! Thank you for the video.
Just bought a 2008 Titan 134k miles on it, no leaks, smooth tran so far, no crud in the coolant overflow, levels are stable. Rich exhaust fumes however... Love the info you gave.
just bought an 06 crew cab 2wd with 219xxx on it. had about a month. but it handles like a dream. always been a southern truck. averages around 13/14mph (I drive it about 75-80mph for around 1hr round trip to work everyday.) handles my 2000lbs trailer loaded with average 6k load on it like nothings there. and the tow mode kicks ass when it comes to braking.
I think the car last based on how you use it, if its a daily works flawless, if you run it in the mud more than likely you will have issues. I have 245000, only had to change the starter and that was 6 months ago after having the vehicle since 2011 brand new off the lot! Love it.
2010 SE just broke 200k. Hub assembly was an issue and replaced the radiator so it didn't overheat during towing a 28ft camper across country. Love my truck and still have a ton to do to it aftermarket wise. I got my baby at 32k miles. She's paid off. Always get compliments on it.
I have a 2004 Titan with only 173,000. Has a minor oil leak that developed about a year ago. Other than oil changes every 4500K with synthetic blend and new brakes, no engine or transmission issues at all.
2014 titan pro 4x. 140k miles. Major problem faced: snapped a differential axle, dealer wanted 2200 just for the part to install brand new differential, Fixed it rather easily myself for 600 in parts
I have a 04 with 220k on it. I live in the Northeast. Still runs great also with orig engine, trans, starter. Just normal wear and some rust in the rear wheel wells now. But..... she runs great. I have new car and if you asked me to drive to Cali, I'm changing the oil, and in my Titan I go!!!
My 2013 has 170k and it's still going hard. I've used it as if it was an F250 towing and always full of tools. It spends half it's time in the mud as an excavating crew truck. I do beat on it. Just redid the power steering, replaced the transfer case, radiator, hubs, shocks (just installed a 6" lift!), Muffler fell off so it got an X pipe and a Super 10 flowy which sounds sick. I feel like it just needs cleaned up and it should run fine for another 170k miles. Just keep up on the oil changes and transmission fluid replacement without a full flush. It needs a new driver seat, and the paint isn't really the best, and it might eventually rust out on me, but it's an over all excellent ride. I'm working on a new seat next. And a chrome delete since it's getting kind of gross. Headlights getting a little bit foggy. Bumpers a little beat up, a little rust developing on the roof. Great stereo, and the truck is very very fast. I average like 15mpg with 33" tires so not awful. It gets the same 15mpg towing or highway lol.
I purchased a 2004 Titan for $3,000 with 165k miles. This truck is uglier than homemade soap. Every panel has a small dent or scratch. But the interior is mint. Runs like a champ every time. Probably the least likely truck to get stolen. I like that.
I have a 2009 Nissan titan it has 56,000 miles I purchased it new. Change the oil every 3500 miles with synthetic. The only issue I’ve ever had is the actuator door motor for the HVAC. I absolutely love my titan I hope it never fails
I have an 06 Titan with 238k miles. Still runs fine. The only things changed were routine maintenance and also things that typically go out such as fuel pump (at 200k) and the starter (around 150k). I’m looking to get to 300k before I trade it in. I put a lot of upgrades in it like a touch screen, fog lights/control switch, backup camera, and the LTE rearview mirror
08 with 180K here, no oil leaks, tiny power steering leak, climate control, diverter clicks and my replacement. It must have been in the wrong position when I did it because it still happens and now the climate control dash module unit needs replacement. Windows got stuck so I had to replace those but that's an easy job. I just bought the entire unit with both rails and motor, bushings need replaced at this point and the rear axle did build up too much pressure causing a leak that led to needing to replace half the rear axle, which wasn't too complicated but I recommend the modification where you go through the closed port on the passenger side of the rear axle with a tube routed up into the tail light with a filter on the end like some have done to allow for expansion and contraction when heat builds up, I tow heavy loads. I have added the Triton load. Leveling gigantic bushings to replace the normal bump stops in the back as an alternative to air shocks because these will never fail and never require maintenance and they have eliminated squat when I am at the limit of what the Titan can hold and the ride is nice too. I did replace all shocks and struts a couple years ago. I used the heavy duty rancho adjustables but I just leave them on the roughest ride. I forget what I used in front. This thing has run like a champ. Oh yeah the third overhead brake light leaked and got all my seats wet so that needed attention as well. But considering almost 200,000 mi you can't complain. Everything under the hood has remained rock solid and leak proof except for the power steering leak which has made a mess everywhere but it's not bad enough to have to keep an eye on the level for some reason. I really need to address that when you have the money. You don't have the time and when you have the time you don't have the money...
I have a 2009 Titan SE with a little above 196k miles.. Engine and transmission still pretty solid. Never really had major issues other than having to replace the radiator and the starter.
I have a 2010 titan se. 185k changed both upstream o2 sensors fixed check engine for closed loop and heater for o2 sensor. Manual shift wire just breaks off in column. Fixed that. Also I recommend doing front shock assembly, suspension and front and rear end bushings and the drive shift seal into the transmission
There was a 2006 Titan for sale in Minnesota last year that has 1 million miles. I think he sold it for $26k. I have 2012 pro 4x 156k miles, not a single problem, just regular maintenance. I plan to go on a month vacation with it. Go to Alaska, Florida, New York and coming back home to Minnesota.
I have a 2007 Nissan Titan V8 and it has 498,000 MI and still running like a champ maintenance is key if you want any truck to last
Got a 2004 with 411k I agree completely
Might be looking to buy a Pro4X Titan in the next few months. What kind of maintenance do you recommend, specifically? Regular oil changes, only?
@@jaygee2116 everything tune-up oil change of course transmission flush out have the differential fluids changed often coolant fluid changed as well fuel injectors flushed and cleaned
Did u have to replace your manifolds?
No just changing the catalyst converters that can be costly but if you shop around you can find them at a decent price

That’s impressive for an ‘04. I would have expected you to have a rear axle issue with that mileage.
Mines a '05 but I still only have 68k miles on it.
any major problems?
I wish I still had my 06 I just had to sell it because I needed something bigger for towing
😮😯😲
Bought my '04 king cab new and it's still going strong almost 19 years later. Very few issues with it all of which were minor repairs. Great trucks!
Did you changed the stock radiator??

Tundra= C Channel frame that's prone to rust issues and NO locking rear diff, ok crash test rating. Titan= Fully boxed reinforced frame and locking rear diff available, bullet proof drive train, great crash test rating and best truck warranty 5 yr/100k.
How many do you see on the road now, compared to the first gen tundra 🤣.
@@brotherdj777 A lot few were sold and you still see quite a few. Also the higher price of the Tundra would attract a more maintenance friendly crowd. The titan DOES have a better frame and all forged internals engine.

Wow, I thought 381000 on my Titan was a lot. Good for you.
Whoa! That’s almost unheard of anymore. Im looking for a truck that will last. I love older model trucks. I’m considering purchasing an 08 with 179k on it for $9k.
What’s the key I have an 2008 Nissan armada with 157 thousand miles.
Wow I put that much on my Dodge in just 2.5 years.....that titan must just sit in the driveway alot.
2010 Texan 4wd. Only 70k. Fantastic truck. Tons of power and torque. Tows amazing.
Have a 2012 bought in new, now has 55k, tow with it all the time it’s beast, tows so nice & fun to drive, plan on keeping it for many more years. Titan has never gotten its proper due.
Wow thing must be mint! I love my ‘09, 160k, starts up every time, love the truck except for trips to gas station..
Heyyyy, I have the same one with almost 200k and she's going strong. Love to see that people are actually using these for off-roading
I just bought an 09 yesterday for $15k with 113k miles and in nearly perfect condition, I love it!
What year
My mom drives an 07 Tundra Limited crew cab and it's massive inside. Coincidentally my stepdad just traded his 2020 Tacoma in on a 2021 Tundra Limited TRD-offroad crew cab. Still love my Titan though.

Good luck! Hope you made it ok!!?

I've driven to Florida 2 times, Louisiana, Missouri. The truck continues to impress me. If you have any doubts, DON'T.... These trucks are made to last. Maintenance, is key.
I worked for a carwash and had a titan with 700k on the odometer and looked the part. Literally felt like a slinky driving it
I have a 2006 Nissan Titan Crew Cab 4x2, original owner and I just hit 200,000.
What happened?

My Nissan Titan is a 2008 with 174k miles. I’m first owner and never had a problem. Runs great and strong!
I have a 04 titan 4x4 king cab with 199K, my dad got it in 08 handed it down last year with nothing but regular maintenance and it’s still doing a great job. I love that truck and hope to keep it for a long time. Fingers crossed.
2008 king cab, 370,000 miles, oils brakes belts and tires. Not one major component. Just bought a 2019. Hope to achieve the same.

Routine maintenance on both vehicles, just changed the front suspension on the xterra 184k miles on stock suspension.. of course it was shot, but 184k on stock springs is great! Up next, front suspension and add a leaf,
Same upgrades done on the xterra the titan is getting next. Loved all my nissans, I take care of them, and will for the time coming be a Nissan guy. Started with
My 07 maxima sl, thing was a beast in itself.
I had a 2000 Xterra and absolutely loved it. Traded it in 2016 with 250k. Bought a Kia, sold a Kia 6 mo later, bought my Titan. Never looked back. Love my truck 240k and runs like a top!!
I have a 2004 in excellent shape with 157.897 that I'm in it for LONGEVITY over MILES. I have had ZERO ISSUES with mine.
2006 Nissan Titan LE 2wd 308,000 miles! Original Engine & Trans. Never had any major issues. We love the truck so much we finally purchased a 2020 Nissan Pro 4X 5,800 miles so far

I’ve got an “04” I bought new that just rolled over 100k. After reading these posts I’m assuming it’s just now broke in. It’s been a great truck minus the horrible clear coat on the paint that fades and chips away on the hood and roof of the truck which is a common Titan occurrence.
Oh yeah, that’s the one problem with the older model titans, the clear coat comes off with the years but other than that titans are a beast
@@aceexplicit8254 : I agree, paying for a paint job once every decade is an acceptable expense for these trucks.
Yes I have the same problem faded paint on Roof and Hood
Me as well with my 06
My 2009 Titan has 130k on it.
Just bought an 08 Titan XE with under 94000 miles. Truck is pristine and drives like new. Not a single rattle.
Just bought a 2008 Titan 134k miles on it, no leaks, smooth tran so far, no crud in the coolant overflow, levels are stable. Rich exhaust fumes however... Love the info you gave.
I read that one problem area with Titans can be cracked exhaust manifolds. They have to be replaced if so.
My 2007 Titan went 315,000 and some change then i sold it.....loved it.....i have a 2018 Titan now bought new and love it
Lol I recently bought a used 04 Titan with 316k miles on it. And it’s running like a champ 💪🏼
Too many common problems on these titans though
2007 Titan 4x4 with 250k. Flawless truck and I still tow about 6k pounds normally. The only thing I've done is upgraded the transmission cooler.
just bought an 06 crew cab 2wd with 219xxx on it. had about a month. but it handles like a dream. always been a southern truck. averages around 13/14mph (I drive it about 75-80mph for around 1hr round trip to work everyday.)
handles my 2000lbs trailer loaded with average 6k load on it like nothings there. and the tow mode kicks ass when it comes to braking.
I’m looking at getting a titan there’s a 08 but it’s a flex fuel motor would you recommend just getting the 06
08 with 180K here, no oil leaks, tiny power steering leak, climate control, diverter clicks and my replacement.
