Thanks for the video. I followed along and was able to learn the cobra braid with a couple of extra pieces I had. I plan to attempt the bino lanyard tomorrow. Easy to learn from you. Good teacher.
Take it nice and easy Ed, expect to be frustrated to start with and give your fingers a break every so often. When you have made it, please can drag and drop a photo here, please: goo.gl/mQgf8E I really do love to see other people's work.
Johnny Debt i stuck with the cobra braid all the way and attached to binos via carabiners. Took a while and 56’ of cord is a bit to work with but I’m all set now and 3 of 5 kids have a daddy made cobra braid bracelet. Thanks again for taking the time to make the video. Good luck to you.
5 KIDS!!! Did you not learn after the first one? ;-) A thousand years ago I made one for my daughter, she still wears it, but when I look at it, all I see is the mistakes.
Many thanks for the binocular strap tutorial. Always wanted to tie one but it looked far to complicated until your tutorial came along. Cheeky shout for Des Pawsons fancy lanyard next!!.
Next time I see Des, I will tell him that my fan club (one person) prefers my vids to his book! Glad that you are enjoying the subject of knotting. If you look through my videos, you will see other work that I have taken from Des's book. Have fun knotting and thank for taking the time to leave a comment.
I am A new comer to "Knotting" and I am trying to "Learn". I am a disabled Navy vet and I carve spirit faces in hiking sticks and give them to other Vets. Hey Shippers, ex Navy even better! I would love to see some of the work that you have done. Do you by any chance have any works online that I could have a look at?
Great tutorial! Just getting into Paracord crafts, and own two binoculars without straps, so looks like a project I might try right away. But I do have the same question as some others and didn't see the answer---how are the ends attached to those tiny slots in the binoculars?🤔
watched it all the way through to see how you connected the binoculars to it. why didn't you show the important bit. I can't figure it out unless you use split rings.
The problem is what do you think is a diamond knot. Here is a list of different diamond knots. I think the one that you are really after is the Bosun's Whistle Lanyard Knot: ua-cam.com/users/j0hnnydebtsearch?query=diamond
coool vid loved it and your jokes are pretty funny if I do say so myself and this was a very good vid I might try this some time or other and did u check out my new vid and how have u been
YOU SHOULD PUT THE CAMERA "CLOSER TO THE KNOT" YOU ARE DOING. IT IS HARD TO SEE EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE PUTTING THE "BITTER END" THRU THE THE KNOT. OR YOU COULD USE A "BIGGER CORD" FOR YOUR DEMOS AND KEEP THE CAMERA VERY CLOSE TO THE WORK. some of us are Very New and trying to LEARN and if we don't SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING ITS HARD TO FOLLOW YOU. AGAIN..... PUT THE CAMERA VERY CLOSE TO THE KNOTS. I AM WATCHING YOU ON A PHONE... NOT A T.V. seajay sailor man
Thanks for your comments. Yes I think you are right, all the knots mentioned are repeated in other videos I have done just on the knot with larger cord. I am still learning so you really do appreciate what you are telling me in your comments. I will look to doing videos with either more close-ups or larger cordage.
Thanks for popping over and leaving a comment. Don't be rude about my Lansky ;-) To be honest I really do love my knife, when I first got it I was worried it was too meaty. However, it has turned out to be the best knife I ever owned! Are you personally a knotter?
Excellent video, very clearly explained! Thanks!
Gosh, I had completely forgotten about this video. Thanks for taking the time to view and also make a comment, very much appreciated.

If you enjoy doing this sort of thing, it really is worth getting one of Des's books. I take it then that you are just getting into knotting?
Recently bought Des's Knot Craft book. Had a look at the binocular lanyard, your visual tutorial, for me , was easier to follow.
Next time I see Des, I will tell him that my fan club (one person) prefers my vids to his book! Glad that you are enjoying the subject of knotting. Finishing solution?

How long were the original 4 strands. I want to make, but longer. Thank you
If you have eyelits on the end of your strap ... how does it attach to binoculars...???
I am a newcomer to decorative knots, and enjoyed your video very much. You mentioned something about a finishing solution. What is that?
Here is a video of that finishing solution: ua-cam.com/video/G9iI7Rm33io/v-deo.html Thanks for comment.
Thanks for the video, this will make a great Christmas gift for my dad :)
I think your dad will always wear if with pride!! Send me a picture when you have done one please?
Nice binoculars
Thanks for taking the time to view and also make a comment, very much appreciated. Are you more of a practical or decorative knotter?
Is there a video you have made of a close up of the diamond knot? I am having problems but can’t find any other video? Thanks.

How long were the original pieces of cord?
Hello Frank, the length of cord used is at the end of the video. Thanks for taking the time to view and also make a comment, very much appreciated.
No you didn't. You measured the finished product.
How long were the initial cords used?
Two long and two shorter.
The measurements are at this point of the video: ua-cam.com/video/DK8nE21lylM/v-deo.htmlm28s
Just another thought, if you are into decorative knots, you may be interested in this book by Des Pawson: amzn.to/2BZZAR5
