It has a complete exhaust which turn it up to 300hp ( 270whp very little friction loses ), the noise is to die for, i installed a JDM box and ration from a NSX-R and easily took out 110kg of the car ( 1230 now ). You need to have driven it to understand. I was lucky enough to have a whole day with it and by the end I didn't want to give it back...I was growing attached to it! The car was designed by real car lovers, the more you drive it, the more you become one with it. I have owned RSX type S, S 2000, 2001 prelude SH, Integras, had a brand new 2010 Civic Si, sold that after 2 months ( I just hate having to rev the heck out of it to get any power) and other budget Hondas. The torque of the V6 and transmission gearing experience is just an experience like no 4 banger Honda motor will ever deliver, absolutely no comparison. No need for a supercharger, just my personal opinion. I can do without the 6 speed transmission( over rated, I'll take my 5 speed instead.)

    When McLaren chose Honda as engine supplier, this car was one of the reasons. The NSX is a car that to this day, is light years ahead of any other super car. Besides the aluminum body, it had titanium rods and other stuff, which even today is unheard of. The Japanese mopped the streets with whatever europe offered. They are the daddy's of electronics technology the way we know it today. I love it when Porsche tries to argue that they have 'race cars' when in reality they are children compared to McLaren and Honda. Porsche who builds cars that last as long as the warranty...

    • @hanslubas
      @hanslubas Рік тому

      Japan mopped the streets? 300ZX? GTO? RX7 FD? Those things died early deaths due to half baked Twin Turbo systems whereas 996s which were a Reliability Low point for Porsche Dyno their factory horsepower to this day. Hell, BMW isn't the bastion of reliability but an E39 M5 or an E46 M3 will output more power today than it ever did then with High Miles and a Remap. The only thing they had going for them was the huge gains forced induction gave the tuner crowd.
      McLaren's so far detached from what they used to be back when GM was in charge that their cars today can give Tesla a run for the money on being the worst with Quality Control.
      And for the record, Porsche RSRs are still the king when you have to buy and race an actual Race Car. Porsche GT series is the king of Trackable Street cars.
      I'm not taking anything away from Honda's wonderful Type Rs of Yesteryear but even they can't build anything remotely like it today. They performed particularly well in small tracks like Tsukuba especially when Tire Technology was unable to cope with the huge increase in power, but that has changed now and their deficiencies are definitely highlighted.
      But none of what they did was Amazing or Astounding. They just developed things differently in a package that would completely be destroyed by a Chevrolet C5 Z06 mod for mod. All those high revs and advanced materials and you end up with an overcomplicated scalpel fighting a Phase Plasma Rifle in the 40 Watt Range. If you want to get Technical, The Corvette was using Magnesium, Carbon Fiber, and a mix of older and next generation tech. Ferrari has been using Titanium Rods since the day of the 550 Maranello at least, and Aluminum Bodies are not used due to Carbon Fiber tubs being a superior weight saving material.
      Frankly, you highlight what's wrong with the Japanese Car industry. Too many One hit wonders with no Sequels that die off and get overrated legends that returns on a different generation to restart the process.

    That's an imported US NSX (Acura badge): the side repeaters instead of fog lights, also slightly different rear tail light configuration (no rear fog light for example, different overall colour too) - interior has very subtle change too for the center console (dark gray instead of black), the warning chime is also specific to US models..

      US models had a sort of vinyl layer over the plastic interior parts. It was sorta very dark brown sparkly stuff. It was known for causing problems in hot climates. The vinyl layer started peeling off. In Europe you got just the black plastic without the layer.
