Doesn't hurt that it ran in the family too...Jackie Wilson was Levi's cousin and he also had a brother in the Contours!.. it's in their blood and genes I guess 🤷🏾‍♀️

Im blessed to have grown up with their gifts of such phenomenal talent. Levis voice reached into my heart and came to stay when I was just a kid of 9 yrs old. I danced to their songs with my girlfriends in our basements. We sang, danced our asses off blasting Motown, the Delphonics, Supremes, Temps, all those amazing voices! We created our own white girl dance steps, but we could dance! My friends I grew up with from 1st grade to grown-up age were a mixed bag of beautiful black friends and white, we loved each other back then and we're still each others hearts to this day whos left from them. We used to sing in the girls, bathroom because the sound carried and other girls would come in and listen, some who could, really sing and knew the words would join in. Music cut through any barriers. Those bonds will never break. If only people would stop....listen to the music! Its,the music of our lives! We jumped double dutch, we sang Motown, we shared dance moves,! I never saw color.. my friends were the greatest and the reason i woke up every day for school...we wanted to sing these incredible songs! Music transcends...i love all people!
I love the voices of the church people I listened to in Baptist Church! The soul could be heard eminating from them! Some grew up and became my idols, Aretha my heart!!! Whitney, she left an imprint! Im so mad shes gone! A voice, with no match! Ok im all snot nosed and swollen eyes from cryin pourin my heart out here. Stop the hate people! Listen to the music of your lives! This is mine!

Scuse how I am dressed. Had to reply. Not many people know of the Funk Brothers. More hits than the Beatles and Stones combined. So I am sitting here listening...is that Jamerson on Bass? Robert White? Eddie on drums? So you can tell you are too old when you do that !!!!!!!! Never liked Smokey, big a star as he is/was, and I still maintain he killed Motown.

Aw man, as a young girl i wanted to know who thst was in the background of music! I missed my calling. I was always told what a great voice i had, and I wojld be in my room singing my aaaass off! The Adantes were magnificent, The Funk Bros no match! Just awesome! I used to read up on my favorite groups. I was a Motown fanatic. I remember askin my dad how far away was Detroit from my hometown in N.J. He'd say far, but you wouldnt be able to go there unless you had a bodyguard. I said why, he said because there was unrest and the people who lived there may not like you in certain nparts of that city. I said I wanna go where they make the music at, the studio! He said maybe when you get older. Im mad i didnt hop on a bus and just go with a friend in the, early 70s. Hell i was only in 5th grade when my crazy ass sisterinlaw let me drive to school. I had 4 older brothers who taught me to drive when i wss 8! I was a wild child but I wanted to meet Aretha and The Four Tops so badly! I guess ill always have that regret. Inly 1 surviving original member is left, Duke. I think hes still alive, anyway. Id love to be able to tell him how much I love him and the group. I hate missed opportunities!

This is harmonious singing. The lead had a strong singing voice, and the back-up harmony adds to the singing richness. Without the instruments the sound would not be as dynamic as it is. Thank you writers, singers, musicians and of course the arrangers and all others who were a part of making this song a hit. {I'm sure it was a hit.) Most of all, thanks Berry Gordy for starting Motown. Thanks for posting.

Namaste Mosogotam: What a privilege it is to have someone like you (a Producer/Musical Sound Engineer, I'm guessing) be so generous in sharing these gems we’ve all loved for decades; that you’ve now turned into masterpieces. Not only because you've extended them but because you've laid bare the best parts of not only the singer's voices, but the musical arrangements as well! And you’ve done it in a way that it’s clear your ego is not involved in any way - Even with your level of technical skill, I can clearly hear it’s not about your ego. For you, it’s ALL about the music. After reading the comments I can say along with everyone else who’s an avid fan, We thank the UNIVERSE for you!
P.S. I’ve been up for 24 hours listening to all your extended Motown versions. I literally haven’t moved since late last night. I’m mesmerized by how you’ve enhanced this music. I ache all over because the temp in my NYC apartment is always about 90০ throughout the winter, so I keep my AC on (laugh). Stopped at 5:30am this morning to brew a pot of fresh coffee; so I can continue to listen and load (I use MP3 Rocket/Windows Media Player). I intend to continue to drown myself in the joy and beauty of a part of music history that you’ve now magnified to the 10th power... - ariesgirl54ify

The first song of yours I heard and loaded was "Nathan Jones" by The Supremes but I hadn't made the connection yet by clicking on the link. I would like to make a request: Would it be possible for you to create one of your extended versions of "Magic Carpet Ride" by Steppenwolf? It's the only song that every time I hear it I want to hear more of John Kay's vocals throughout instead of that long instrumental 'trippin' stretch...Thanks again, "Mosogotam" And I'm proud to be one of your new your new Subscribers,

John, this Four Tops remix really rocks, and it really benefits from the thoughtful stretching out that you so generously provided. Have you ever given any thought to giving some new life to the Tops "You Keep Running Away." If anyone can work alchemy on that classic H-D-H recording, it's you!
