@@geoffcohen613 A mixture of both. Though because the containerships are visiting several ports either delivering or picking up cargo they will have varying degrees of loading, seasons influence loading too. Their last port call before going to the next country is a better indication.
Loving the commentary between Pilots, Ships and Base
Love these videos....brilliant photography...brings back many memories from my summer holidays in Lonnie
Great to hear!
Another great video, thanks Daff. Interesting comment re comment concerning tankers👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
A very interesting video Daff. I enjoy watching, keeps me in touch!
Glad you enjoyed it Chris.
I used to live at Point Lonsdale. Great memories.
It's a lovely place.
The Maersk Bali looks a bit heavy at the stern. Curious what the weight distribution rules are.
Lightly loaded so stern down to keep the prop in the water.
why are all the Container ships leaving Melbourne riding so high in the water.?
Not all ships fully load out of Melbourne and also empty containers are needed to be returned to ports short of boxes to reload.
@@daff.wallace2267 do the ships not fully load because they cannot get out of heads if too full, or because there is not enough out going cargo.

Can two ships pass legally in the rip. Or only one at a time.
Yes there is room to pass though not the norm. Never if it's a tanker or if the vessel is a deep draft with low speed to steer effectively.
