LOVE how the student feels free to ask "why," and get a positive explanation!
Same, in my school I get insulted for asking such questions
Maths teacher like him makes every student fall in love with Maths and they'll never hate it.
definitely

I am not joking when I say that you are the reason I have a degree today. I was never the “smart” kid in school. I was about ready to drop out because I just couldn’t figure things out in even the basic math classes. Your videos are the reason I did not have to drop out. I remember watching these back in 2013. I was eventually able to transfer to a university and now I have a stable career.
I don’t think you will ever realize how big of an impact you’ve had on my life, and I’m sure many others like me.
Dear Rizwan - what a beautiful message. Thank you so much. Your words give me fuel and inspiration. It's a joy knowing that YM was in your corner along your journey.
If every teacher was like this man we would all want to be at school.
I agree
OMG! Exactly. His explanation was so simple and easy to remember.
That's true!
If more students were this respectful , there would be more teachers.
if u agree with tis person give me a hell ya
we truly need more teachers like you in the world. You deserve MILLIONS.
I found this playlist interesting too: ua-cam.com/video/xNghsdA7nag/v-deo.html
Please what if the coefficient of x is not a perfect square
@@azugahalibashira9304 i think then you require the quadratic formula, you can search that up cause i dont think ill be able to write it here
There are a ton if not most teachers are already like this.
there is an easer way to do all equations like that with that formule DELTA= b^2-4ac
He’s a good teacher. My algebra teacher shows up like 30 minutes late to class every morning and doesn’t see why everyone is failing the tests. Thanks for the help!!!
HAHAHAH
I am 30 years old and going for a second bachelors degree in a different field. I am taking Quantitative Analytics right now (first math class in over a decade) and rediscovering mathematical concepts I learned a very long time ago. You are an amazing math teacher!
Congratulations on pursuing your new field; that takes fortitude. And thank you so much for your kind feedback, Cici!
Same! I'm 29 years old going back to school or engineering. He's a great teacher. Probably an even greater human being just to have as a friend. Blessings.
I came here expecting a boring, uninformative lecture recommended by my teacher. Thankfully, I did not receive- this is a great and super helpful video!
Explained better than my teacher

I am not your traditional student and find myself struggling with college algebra. I want to THANK YOU so much for explaining the "Completing the square" and "quadratic formula" to where I can actually understand it. You are an inspiration to this future teacher :D I wish I would have had a math teacher like you when I was in high school.
Hi Angel! College Algebra is no joke, especially if you're going the non-traditional route. I give you all the credit in the world for pursuing your passions. If there is anything you need or if you have questions about the game, please feel free to communicate.
How are you in college and just now learning what algebra 1/9th graders are learning?
yaymath I'm 56 non-traditional for sure I need to just master more I think of how to factor out and square, but all was good on the video you posted .It's hard to fined a starting video do you have lets say videos that will walk me into about here in this one.
I am 44 and also a non-traditional student. Math has been in my rear view mirror for many years. My college algebra teacher is great, but it's unrealistic to expect her to slow down for those of us who are rusty. This was my first visit to YayMath and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Very informative and delivered in a fun and easy to understand manner. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I like the way he explains and how the students respond and get positive explanations.

This teacher deserves an award for excellence in teaching
You’re so kind.
I like the way you teach. I really struggled with math during the algebra phase, and you explained it VERY clearly.
i actually understand this now!! my teacher (and many others) don't seem to understand that SOME students don't get things right away, and they keep moving on and adding stuff and it feels like being left behind... SO MUCH better than my teacher haha! THANKS :D
SAME!!!
OMG SAME!!!
same!
I found this playlist interesting too: ua-cam.com/video/xNghsdA7nag/v-deo.html
since when did a classroom full of kids ever participate this much during a lecture?!?! how many students are there in this class? Both as a teacher and as a student I have never heard so much participation...How do you do it??!?!??
Christopher Sivak they don't call him yay math for nothing.
lol sure...
boo math!
Because they aren’t scared to ask because he’s not scary... like other dumbass teachers
I guess you're one of the boring teachers. You have to be fun in order to get their attention
He doesn't take himself too seriously, + he LISTENS when the students comment or ask a question. His sense of humor is infectious. yaymath!
I stumbled across your videos again randomly in my recommended. It brought me back to how much I used to learn from you during high school and freshman year of college. Thank you!!!!!
You are the best math teacher I have ever been taught by. I started to watch all your algebra videos and I have never failed again!!!!!!!
Shit man! I've learnt more in the 20mins of this, then I have the entire year of math!
I feel you. My math teacher sucked shit during the school year, so I have to retake the course this summer to boost my mark. This guy teacher sooo much better than my teacher did
Angie Cannons haha... Now see if he has a channel for English class because learnt isn't a word.
hahaha looking forward for that
+Alexandria Cat
Clearly you didn't learn much in English either.
Why can't my teachers be more like this? He's engaging with his student and having fun with it. My teacher just spouts random crap that nobody understands while we all stare aimlessly into the distance.
😂😂
the fact that im sitting in my room and watching this video and he is making me smile. What an amazing teacher. You are making math fun and i wish we had more teachers like you:)
The girl asking questions sounds so sweet. She seemed surprised and a little disappointed with the solution!
Really wish this guy was my algebra teacher because mine sucks!!
Robert Bones If someone is trying to educate themselves when their teacher may or may not teach by using the internet you are hardly entitled to say he sucks.
Robert Bones lmao😂😂😂
Mateo Morales same
Mateo Morales mannnn who are you telling!🤦🏾♀️

lol this guy teaches more in 20 min than my teacher in a year
watch my maths videos to learn maths easy.
Damn true alright😁😂

I just love the way you lecture... if only we had more lecturers like you math would be an easy course
Every school needs a friendly math teacher like you....
My math teacher is so rude....
It's 3 days before my final and I'm SO GLAD I found your videos. My teacher talks us through her problem solving on the board and she goes so fast. I don't have time to copy the problem and understand what she's doing. I'm so glad you take your time and make sure every student understands each step.
i have the worst memory and come back to this video every exam season, you save my ass so frequently THANK U
This type of maths appears in my next year, so I looked ahead in my text book - and it made little sense after a certain point. Looked up a UA-cam vid yesterday - and that made even less sense. Came across this vid - now it makes perfect sense.
Many, many thanks to a great (and fun) teacher; clearly, your students enjoy their lessons. Seeing as this was made in 2013, I hope they all went on to do well in life!
I always get distracted in class and cant seem to grasp it, but channels like yours are getting me through 😂
Hey! I wanted to say Thank you so much! I'm in college algebra currently this Fall Semester and my teacher is really hard to learn from. She skips steps and doesn't explain what she's doing half the time. Most nights, I leave the classroom totally lost. But, since I've been watching your videos, I've gotten 96% on my first two tests. Thank you very much, I'd be literally failing without you and that can't happen when you're applying to the Nursing program. Thanks for doing this for us, you're honestly helping tons of people! :)
***** I"m so happy to learn this, thank you for writing.
Thank you so much, Crystal, such an amazing story.
+yaymath yes please keep making good vids
how do you learn this in college I am in 10th grade
I LOVE that your students ask where the "x" went also. My kids always ask that and we explain it over and over, but it's cute that they seem to think the same regardless of where we are. From one teacher to another, thanks. :)
Hi Kathleen! Thanks so much for your comment and being a part of Yay Math! It means so much that you're using these videos as another way to assist your students' learning. Where do you teach, and what classes?
I teach Algebra 1 (and Science) in Palmdale, CA. Always looking for ways kids can get support outside the classroom. I'm hoping the CCSS implementation aligns with some of what is already out there. Otherwise I'm moving to Texas. LOL
Had another funny to share with you. So I have a really strange story telling way of teaching factoring by grouping. Yesterday I told the kids that we were going to watch you teach it so that they could see a normal teacher teach it since there's no way they'll get someone in high school teaching it like I do and I don't want them to be at a disadvantage. So I pull up your Berry method video. As you are surfing across the screen my kids are laughing at me saying, "Yea, way to pick a normal teacher!"
Thanks for the excellent teaching, and the laugh.
Guys this is the best math teacher right here. I love how the stsudents ask questions so them and i can understand. KUDO's for the math teacher and students! You have helped me to understand clearly
Thank you so much! I spent hours and hours trying to understand this and I found your video and learned it in just 8 minutes. You're an angel, sir!
I love the way how you teach your students, it's really entertaining. I hope all the teacher in algebra was same as you. haha
I always forget how to do complete the square, this exact video has helped me with my mid year exams and finals 😌
Same lol
Me to
that's a fact I have my math regent tmrw. my FIRST one... wish me luck
Me too
9 years on and he's still a fabulous teacher!
You are truly a great teacher. Since I'm a slow learner . I must play your video over & over until I really understand this math. Will continue to watch.
Your Channel is a blessing! It's really helping me, you're a great teacher and know how to prevent students from getting frustrated! Thanks!!!
dude i love your work, its great.honestly i think personally without knowing algebra you cant advance anywhere els in maths.
i also get tired and bored in math classes because of how the teacher teaches, all they do is talk like they dont have a life.to me it sucks but me doing my own math classes by going on youtube watching everyones math videos includind yours its more fun and open minded. i also like seeing actual people physically demonstrating and giving tutorials of the videos than having a computer do all the work ... i understand better that way.
I just want to say I wish I found your page a week ago. I have decided to go to college after being out of school for 20 years and they are giving me a "reminder course " of algebra. I almost decided to stop going to college because I was lost and did not remember anything algebra related. I felt if I could not get past week one in an algebra course how was I going to get a degree. I am in week two and our instructor has used this video as a resource to what we will be working on this week. Watching you have fun with math and being able to hear the questions from your students ( which are the same questions I have ) and you give and show the explanations has given me a new feeling of " I can do this " I have now subscribed to your channel ... Thank you .
Thank you yaymath, I needed this information in my FE exam. I was stressed over this basic mathematic method and you just saved my ass.
I am really grateful that there are people like you in this world.
This is sad, but I am in college algebra, in college and I have the worst teacher trying to explain to me something I haven't done in 15 years. Now, I have to come home and watch his videos just so I know what the HELL that crazy witch was talking about. I am so glad this is on video!!!
I understand your pain, but great Math teachers aren't paid any more than poor ones. Thus, there is NO incentive for great teachers to teach and results in an obvious undersupply of good teachers. The worst thing you can do is to expect College Professors to teach rigorously and effectively for most of the students.
Remember:
Those that can DO and those that CANT teach.
Dude i learnt this shit in 8th grade and now im in 9th grade this shot is vary easy how can you not get it
@@ok5183 it is explained very well.
Thanks weird Star Trek dude
i laughed a bit too loud

Take out the weird, please! It is racist.
@@joanlynch5271 how is that racist?
Funny beginning, cool teaching, patiently explaining to the student. I love this. This method actually inspire me to open my channel.... Teaching with patience. The students under his class are so lucky and blessed to have him.
After watching this video about 4 times and practicing some questions I finally understand. Thanks so much. Best teacher ever!
You are such a good math teacher. This was so helpful. Understanding it is much better than just getting an A+ on a test. Thank you!
Being Indian i liked how u teach the students with fun 😉
Just wanted to let you know, you helped me a lot! I had to miss class for a whole week because of work and this video caught me up quickly. Thanks a bunch.
Yay math, and Simon Deacon's Maths Wrap are my best. Slow and comprehensive tutorials! Excellent!!! Thumbs up!!! Keep on helping thanks.
Wow, how i wish my teachers in math are same with you. In the way u teach students, it doesn't makes us feel math as super bored and difficult to understand. This videos really helped us a lot. Thank you. Because of ur positive outlook in math, we are eager to learn.
I really hate math
You are so goofy. I think you are a great teacher! I see that you truly love your "career" & care about your students. Thanks for caring & for being so awesome. And for making math fun & making it so I can understand the concepts....
we truly need more teachers like you in the world. You deserve billions $$$$$
Just found your channel and I love the way you are making the children even me that is watching enjoy maths , grateful for your videos .
This is exactly what I hate, doing all the easy questions in class, and getting all the hard ass questions for homework! Like I know how to do this with whole numbers, but with decimals and fractions I'm completely lost! I think the questions I don't get are Completing the square for quadratic equations, but ones that have decimals and fractions.
Yeah, ikr!! Dang!! :(
neuneuroses ok, I'll try it. Thanks
Divide the whole equation by the coefficient then continue
I feel your pain dude 💔 and i am writing exams about this in like 2 hours
idk man I'm in college now looking back at this problems just help me so much!! idk why I spent money on the class that didn't teach anything compare to a free UA-cam video!
yeah ryt
Paul Casil it's true
Because when you go into a job interview, you can't say "Hey I watched yaymath, hire me please!" In this world you need certification, and you're mostly paying for that because like you said some professors are lacking in delivering education standards.
I looked at a lot of other videos for how to do this and they made it so complicated but this is so simple and understandable, thank you for this
I have a test tomorrow over this subject and this saved my life thank you so much! You seem like an amazing teacher tank you 🙏
my math teacher is fun but when it gets to maths he's like no joking and made me very stress in his class. Even feel blessed to watch a video of fun math teacher,ur helping me out a lot:) sub✔
It's fine during this outbreak of corona
Any questions at home? HOME? LOL Thank you for making math easy and fun! :D Also a non-traditional student, back to school at 50. My math is normally good, but polynomials are kicking my butt!!!!
I was absent from school and missed this lesson in class at my school. I was able to watch this and take notes from it. Idk what I would do without good online tutorials
The guy's method of teaching is making sure that everyone is involved in solution of problem with fun!
Dude I’m in college and I SO needed this. Thank you for explaining EVERYTHING to me. You rock dude!!!
good video, I like the fact that you are using students who are in the process of understanding the concepts. This is a plus to your video.
last year of high school, reviewing math concepts and this guy teaches so well.
Truely super amazing teacher. I had one lecturer at the university identical to this teacher. I still remember his words! Amazing. Yay, greeting you from Africa man. God bless you

Harsh comments. I guess, Math is really frustrating that it makes people go cussing, not praising. Yaymath! You're the best!
Haha you're hilarious and helpful, a very rare combination! Thank you so much!
You just saved my math life!!!! I was stuck on this problem in my college math class!! Year 2020. Thanks so much!! ♥️

Making videos for 12 years, what a legend.
ua-cam.com/video/uKlxPGQsp3U/v-deo.html
I like how he actually got it right by not putting the +/- in on this line:
sqrt((x-5)^2) = sqrt(43)
Some videos on UA-cam would put a +/- in front of the sqrt(43) which is false.
It's true on the line after though:
x-5 = +/- sqrt(43) as shown in video above.
thank you for that its so wonderful😄
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kindness.
Oh my you’ve made this so much easier for me...GOD bless you💕💕🙏🏽
I don't even panic anymore if I do not understand something in Math, I just simply wait till I get home and watch only 5 min of your videos and can teach the whole lesson. THANK YOU!!!!!
