    Another grand tutorial,
    Some times the crank may be slightly bent from the previous owners hitting something they should not have, and just wear and tear of the crank `where the piston rod bolted on to, these can cause vibration, but unlikely,
    The best blade balancers are the ones you use on the wall ,they are more accurate, not got one me self but will be soon.

    Lot to take in there. I've just been hanging the blades on a nail but you're the second person to recommend that balancing gadget but it's sometHong like £8 plus £6 delivery. Hmmm. Removing blades of a riding mower I was one of the bottom keyways (not the key) had a small (1/4" ) chunk fall out. Anyone know what the part is I have to replace? Vertical axis ? Something like that? (Murray mower.) No vibration but want to change it. Thanks.

    I've got an identical one I've got ready to sell. Any idea what make it is? Can't see any branding on it other than the engine. Interesting your comments re the throttle control. Mine's the same as yours ie doesn't do much. I assumed it was down to adjustment but glad to see they're all like that. Glad to see you back makings vids!

    Could be a bent crank.. get a small length of string.. attach it from one end of the deck to the other.. with a marker make mark where the centre of the blade bolt it's.. take out the HT lead. With the mower on its side bend down and turn the blade gently. And your looking to see if the did on the string stays in the centre of the bolt.. of not then it's bent..

    Just wondering if you can help with which spark plug I need please. Bought a 20 year old mount field Jupiter 46pd as a side project to see if I could get it running. Code: mpr10082. The spark plug it came with is an ngk bkr6e but I’ve got a feeling that’s the wrong one. Any ideas? Cheers.

    at 28:26 you blew the filter off the table and didnt realise ;) also, I'm guessing bent crank was the vibration?, I've had one before, everything seemed fine until I REALLY got into it :)

    I've been watching a lot of your vids.
    I've recently bought a used Mountfield self propelled with b&s classic type engine. Just like the ones in a lot of your vids. I've serviced it... put fresh fuel, new gasket and diaphragm, new air filter.. oiled the foam a touch , topped up oil, changed governor spring and also the larger spring. New spark plug... but the engine revving quiet high and low... surging more than it was before the service!!!!! Am I Missing something?

    • @MowerMan
      @MowerMan  3 роки тому

      Could be a poor quality diaphragm and gasket set

    • @themowerman
      @themowerman 3 роки тому +1

      Check the fuel intake.. it may have a hole in it also make sure the o ring and clip is fitted in the carb where it slides into the fuel intake..

    • @biggur5
      @biggur5 3 роки тому +1

      @@themowerman hi thanks for your prompt reply.
      How do I check the fuel intake?
      The O ring and clip are installed properly and the gasket and diaphragm I got from an Amazon seller and seemed absolutely fine.
      I'll check everything again tomorrow but as the revs are higher than before what do I adjust in order to reduce them? I saw it on one of your video but I can't remember what it was you either pulled out or pushed in.

    • @themowerman
      @themowerman 3 роки тому +1

      @@biggur5 Where the little spring goes on to the carb the other end goes onto a little tab. Bend the tab towards the back of the mower. That should slow it down. Regarding the intake you will need to remove the pull cord recoil. Remove the coil. And the intake is under It. Two bold 1/4 size will undo them. Then clean the intake and check it

    • @biggur5
      @biggur5 3 роки тому +1

      @@themowerman thanks and clearly explained. I'll have a look tomorrow sometime . I'll let you know how I get on.
      If the new bigger spring appears to have more tension than the old one will it create more or less revving?
      If all fails I might put the old spring back in (I can't put the old smaller one back in as it broke, hence the reason I replaced them ) anyway I'll let you know how I got on. (Providing the weathers nice ) 👍
